  1. I tried to make the Vrock very dark, yet still have some color to him. He won't win any beauty contests, but being who he is, he was not a contender to start with.
  2. Hey all! Finished the Glabrezu, and thought I'd post pics for C&C! (WIP) Any and all feedback welcome! 8) George My 1st Gold star! I'd like to thank.... 8)
  3. Hi all, I recently finished my first commission of Vandorendra, Snake Demon & thought I'd show it off here. The pictures contain reptillian nudity so I have linked them to an external site. Vandorendra front Vandorendra left Vandorendra back Vandorendra right Thanks for looking!
  4. This is a work in progress because I have the whole diorama. But the statue itself is really cool dungeon décor.
  5. So, to go along with the creepy, creepy Worm that Walks that I'm putting the finishing touches on, I'm also painting up some demons for the Wrath of the Righteous Pathfinder adventure path that I'm currently GM-ing. I've actually got 4 to paint up, but one has some *ahem* naughty bits (Virina, Female Demon # 77067) so I'll not be showing it in this WIP. I may do an off-site link showoff of that one when it's done. Balor is (mostly) base coated. Pictures, as usual, reveal hard-to-notice flaws. Vrock has been bathed and boiling-water dipped and is currently drying. Babau is about 3/4 done I think.
  6. Just got around to finishing a bones 1 mini that had been incomplete for a year or so. I was trying to add magical nonsense to his coat.
  7. A while back, a buddy of mine asked me to paint up a Warhammer figure for him. This took me a while, but I'm finally finished just as he's coming back from deployment. This guy was a pain, but also taught me a lot. Based his coloration partially on the Bearded Vulture, a pretty cool bird. Gave me the idea of orange skin and blue-black feathers. Here's where the pain came from. The model is top-heavy as heck with those wings, bue he has a single point of contact with the base. To make matters worse, the foot is a separate piece from the leg. I had to drill, pin, glue, and greenstuff it so many times, the foot ended up an elephantine cancerous mass. Still, he's a demon of change and mutation, so it kind of fits. The base is micro-arts. Tomorrow, right before I seal the model, I'll clean up around the edges on it. Maybe give it a blue or yellow rim. This is probably my best attempt at white so far. Went from a bone-color up on the bottom and a light blue up on the top to reflect the ground and sky respecively. Mousling tax! While waiting for the basecoat on the base to dry, I went ahead and painted this guy. Took me about fifteen minutes, which makes him my fastest paintjob ever. He's not a great paintjob, but it was a lot of fun, and if I ever decide to clean him up further, I can.
  8. Finally finished this guy! He was stalled by a lack of paints that I needed, but they came in yesterday, and I got busy! Would have liked to do better with the feathers, but after the third re-try, I left well enough alone. My wife calls him a Skexie... WiP Here Pics: Some close ups: The SC75 metals were awesome for his pauldron, and other pieces, and did well for all his clothes... Base is pretty simple, a few Silflor tufts of 'dead' grass, some fine Gray Ballast, and some Fine Turf earth tone to go around the rocks, skulls, and bones... Comments welcome! 8) George
  9. My first miniboss for my wrath of the righteous campaign. Please keep making these Pathfinder minis Reaper!
  10. Hey all! Started work on the Vrock: After priming, I airbrushed all the scaled skin with Tamiya Neutral Grey, and part of the wings and leg feathers with GW Scab Red. Not much yet more tomorrow. As always, C&C Welcome! 8) George
  11. Mini number 8 completed This is Semira Marise, the last of my Hasslefree minis, made by Kev White, though I'll try and get some different photos of her, as these have come out a tad strange. Paints used... Citadel -White Scar -Kislev Flesh -Khorne Red -Nuln Oil -Seraphim Sepia -Druchii Violet -Blood for the Blood God -Leadbelcher -Runelord Brass -Auric Armour -Caledor Sky? -Mechanicus Standard Grey P3 -Cold Steel -Bloodtracker Brown -Thamar Black -Umbral Umber -Menoth White Highlight I decided to paint her as the dignified priestess, who had perhaps summoned my two succubi, or something =] so she's all wise and stuff. Sadly, you can't see her eyes in these shots, which is all the more annoying as I was rather pleased with them, haha. Lotsa Blood for the Blood God, because one doesn't simply summon demons without getting one's hands dirty, and her lovely white robe... Well, it was once a white robe. I painted her pristine in white scar, then put lots of dirt on with nuln oil and seraphim sepia, and then bloodied her up some. Now I'm all outta unpainted minis, bar finishing off Ebonwrath, until my next order arrives :O but hopefully, that'll bring me my lovely Nethyrmaul and a few other bits and bats too.
  12. I'm painting an oldie but a goodie, the Demon from grenadier 5002. I havent found any finished paint jobs of this that impressed, if anyone has one I'd love to see it. I decided to use the cover of the box (screenshot included)as inspiration and try blending, washes, and highlights. I would NMM his sword but I can't figure out how to shade a surface with this many angles yet, so I went with the flame idea. His offhand should be holding a whip, but I decided it was another chance to work on blending and it looks better than a brown leather whip there. Process and paints on the blending Primed with citadel black Blending: Made a 4:4:1 wash of vallejo retarder medium/water/citadel khorne red (this looks to me like skim milk) Used this wash very lightly probably 8 - 10 times on the top of wings, stroking from the bottom to top (I thought this was probably the best blend work on this mini?) Repeated this process for the sword using citadel khorne red, troll slayer orange, flash glitz yellow, and vallejo white grey, reverse for the whip. I painted the green with citadel kharloc green, highlighted it with citadel warboss green. The fur I painted with khorne red and troll slayer blended, then dry brushed with troll slayer. The sword handle I dry brushed with Citadel chainmail I liberally washed the entire figure except the sword with citadel nuln oil. Questions that I ran into so far: How do I darken or lighten a red? If I add black it turns purple, If I add white it turns into pink. How do I darken an orange? Similar problems. Is washing with black the right idea? When I bought paints at the FLGS here in the bay area, it was suggested that I buy agrax earthshade, which is brown. I've also found some devlan mud because everyone online seems to rave about it. Also brown...What gives? How do you NMM a horizontal curved surface like this sword? Is this a technique that could be applied to a sword blended like this to add to the effect? Please your C&C is welcome.

    More Demons!

Couple more demons for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign. This time its a succubus and the innocent new girl in town, Mary Lith. Bases are chaos bases from a recent CMON kickstarter. The marilith is based on a coral snake pattern and the succubus is based on a naked chick. Thanks! Thanks to carnacki for filling me in on the nudity policy which i should have read. The Following links contain nudity (though I dont know why a shirtless man is less offensive than a shirtless woman) Succubus http://i61.tinypic.com/142zdoh.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/okd8vo.jpg http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0df/4 Marilith http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0dg/4 http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0di/4 http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0dk/4
  14. Just finished the boar demon from bones II. I thought it would be cool for him to have a supernatural demonic illness, hence the glowing sores. Loved painting this guy. The bones material really lends itself to these larger figures. Hope you like!
  15. A week or so ago, I ordered two of HassleFree's succubi, and they arrived yesterday. I think they're rather delightful and their faces are a lot more attractive in person than they are on their site, and they also reminded me strongly of the succubi from the Witcher saga... As such, I decided to paint them in a similar style =] and this means I had the joy of working out how to paint on their lovely tattoos. Now, for me, that's a hella lot of lines, and I wasn't at all sure I could fit those on a 28mm succubus, so I toned it down a bit and simplified, but still kept them in mind. So here they are Links because nekkidness! I tried putting a bit of a wash on the tattoos on the black haired one, but I think ultimately it just messed it up =[ I liked it a lot more before I did that, and I've not the energy to correct it all today... It's not too bad now though, as I did correct some of it.
  16. Yaaay, I finished a mini =D I've been eyeballing this little lady for a bit, and I ended up ordering her alongside my Ebonwrath.... Now, as she's nekkid, these shall be links! Front: https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11891131_10153258967138451_3801146803951602667_n.jpg?oh=e3f80a9d9be7d85f7f283cf73a0c2558&oe=5649B23B Back: https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/11892066_10153258967188451_8020524046940177226_n.jpg?oh=46027ef088001c25f00c45b8fb7636b5&oe=56846BF9 3/4 Angle - https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/11855617_10153258967213451_8368979230337276185_n.jpg?oh=41b53585061737646d9367ff39c012f6&oe=568318C2 Photos are just taken with my phone, so they're not incredible, but I did throw together a quick backdrop and a little stand for her for these, so... Woo =] Painted her with Citadel Paints (Khorne Red, Warpfiend Grey, Naggaroth Nightshade, Auric Armour, Druchii Violet, Nuln Oil and Blood For the Blood God - the last of which is a technical paint which I bought for fun, because I was curious) and some P3 (Thamar Black, Menoth White Highlight and Umbral Umber)=] I admit, I didn't have a whole lot of a plan when I started painting her, but she was quite fun even if painting the gap between her back and wings was a pain in the butt. If I was to redo this mini, I'd probably cut the wings off, paint her, then reassemble her. But yay, I finished a thing =D
  17. On my quest to be able to paint "anything" I opted to work on and finish one of the new Fractured Dimensions demons sculpted by Paul Muller. As many of you know, this Kickstarter has faced some challenges with respect to fulfillment. That said, I'd like to say that Paul Muller has sculpted some beautiful pieces and while he's not responsible for fulfillment of said project, I sure hope that he continues his quest to sculpt more. This sculpt had an astonishing number of surprises when I was preparing the figure and includes a lot of detail and different options for heads/arms/equipment that made customization a lot of fun. A tidbit of green stuff to fill the minute gaps and I was off and running. While having nothing to do with Paul's sculpting, I will say that the Fractured Dimensions figures I have, have the smallest/faintest mould lines I've ever encountered.
  18. Hey all! Finished the Basin on Thornwart so here he is: (WIP) As always, C&C Welcome! 8) George
  19. So about 2 years or so ago I decided to get back into miniature painting after about 20 years. I had no idea how things had progressed so I went to the LFGS to look around. This is where I first discovered reaper miniaturesand as I looked at the awesome metal sculpts on display I noticed these white plastics called bones so I picked up one bones and a few metals and left. Now the bones stayed in its blister for several months and when I finally opened it I glued it then it sat on a shelf until now. Havin got into the KS 3 I figured I better paint my one Nd only bones so here goes ;) And sorry the pics are not great he was surprisingly difficult to frame.
  20. I was going for a swampy base. It kind of worked and it kind of didn't. I attached the frog demon to the base before working on the basing and that was probably a mistake. I had a heck of a time getting the water effects to get underneath his feet without getting it all over the place. I tried to hide some of the mistakes with bushes 'n stuff
  21. Ready to go off to it's recipient..
  22. So I was happy enough to grab one of these at Origins before they are available online.. decided he'd be good for my exchange partner.. Inspiration: So far..
  23. I've hit abit of a painting slump lately and a even deeper "posting pics of what I've painted" slump. Now I plan to make a mends for at least one of those short commings in the shape of a few bones (II). All are speed paints (the zombie took a little bit longer). Ogre Zombie (I used this tutorial as a base for the skin) Skeletons Bone Demon
  24. Love the new reaper demons in the bones kickstarter! Makes going to hell fun!!!! LOL!
  25. Some more fun
