  1. This one was done for the Little People Beauty Pagent. Comments and criticism very appreciated.
  2. The Little People January Bones Beauty Pageant inspired me to try to paint some of my halflings and gnomes. This one, 77167: Ingrid, Female Gnome, is now done. I tried to do some OSL to make it look like the stone was really glowing, including between her fingers. I painted the base with lights and shadows. I didn't add anything to her except paint.
  3. I have not posted recently but I have been doing some painting. I tried many different things on Koya and I have settled on this version.. about the fourth time around.. Comments and critques are appreciated ..its how we grow.
  4. Elliwyn is my entry into the "Little People" Bones Beauty Pagent. I started her at the January meeting of NEMPA and finished her today. (I spent far too long on her for such a silly paint job.) I originally picked the colors to torment Qwyksilver, who was waxing poetic about color wheels at the time. I also originally tried to give her blue skin by mixing the hair color with a skin color, but it just looked too weird, so I painted over it - but not fully, as you can see - for an interesting effect. I mostly dug around in my paint collection for the brightest colors I had. The hair is Surf Aqua, tunic is Breast Cancer Awareness Pink, gloves and shoes are Jade Green (originally Alien Goo, but it was too bright). Shield is VGC Warlord Purple + Red Ink.
  5. I started painting my ringmaster Sophie last night and put a little more work in tonight. Still working on base coating. I thought I did a really great job with the eyes... then I took a look at my photo. I think the right eye (her left) needs to get redone. Colors used so far: Carnival Purple, Big Top Red, Palamino Gold, Noir Black, Caucasian Flesh
  6. Here's the basecoat of Tiviel. First off, her casting was the worst I've seen so far (almost exclusive Reaper minis). The two mold halves were probably .5mm off all the way around. I eventually gave up trying to fix it all and just tried to address the worst of it. She also had a huge crack in her back. I picked up some liquid greenstuff, but not before I had done the base coat of skin. (I might try to paint it up like a scar). I decided to go with the dark purple skin color because I wanted a chance to use my Dark Elf Skin triad on more than just a face. I then had an awful time getting a decent color scheme. I wanted to do something besides black, but I tried blue and brown and they looked terrible. So I just went with black. After painting her irises yellow, I decided that yellow/gold would be the accent color throughout. The grey on the armor and knives is metallic, as is the gold. (I see from the pictures I got some gold on her thumbs). The white thing at her side will turn into a potion. She's wearing two layers of pants, so I'm going to give one of them a slightly different color. I like the red that Derek used on his paint job, so I might try to do something like that. Next steps are to clean up the paint job in a few spots and add shadows to the non-black areas.
