So I was at Michael's and stumbled on this little craft paint ceramic dog figure. I couldn't get over how it reminded me of my dog. I had to get it. I primed it in black and started to do my work. I wasn't sure how I'd make this work, but doing most of the work with a big dry brush and scaling down each layer ended up working great. I can't even describe how happy I am with this stupid little project, but I love it! This is my actual dog (model) And here's what I started with.

I made this last year for a challenge. It's taken from the scene in John Carpenter's The Thing where the Norwegian husky reveals its real self. I made the dog-thing from greenstuff, a husky head and plastic rod, and the tentacles wrapped around the other doggo are dental floss painted Dead Flesh.

GRANDMASTER of the ORDER of SLAYERS by GLITTERWOLF.
Glitterwolf posted a topic in Show Off: Painting
Painted the Witchunter General and his Dog 3D Printed on my Elegoo Mars, Design Signum The Base is from CastnPlay also printed. Part of my Children of the Night Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/ ******************* Lucius joined the Order of Slayers as a young man, hunting Witches, Vampires and Demons felt like a calling to him. He did well, but he got overconfident and one day he went after a Strigoi Vampire without backup. When his crossbow malfunctioned the Strigoi was able to close in, Lucius was no match in hand to hand combat. The Strigoi lifted him up like a puppet and smashed Lucius to the ground breaking his back. Lucius was lucky that his fellow slayers had noticed his absence and had followed him, the strigoi escaped but Lucius lived. Lucius didn't give up though, with the help of the Order's Engineer he got a steam driven wheelchair, and they made a special weapon for him. A triple barreled shotgun that could fire silver bullets combined with a crossbow. Over the years Lucius rose through the ranks till he became Head of the Order of Slayers himself. Still obsessed to find the Strigoi responsible for his broken spine he's eager to fight as ever. His loyal hound follows him everywhere. One day he will find the Strigoi and then he will have his revenge. ***************************** -

One of Reaper's weirder offerings, this was part of the 2021 virtual expo swag. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, so I copied what others had done, giving him bony armored back plates and a big sloppy doggy grin. Shown here with some 3d printed terrain.

Presenting Mecha Toto, the fifth and final member of the Oz gang from Twisted by Demented Games. Kinda wish he'd been a bit furrier as all the armour plates came out a bit bland. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received. Bonus piccy:- They're off to see the wizard...

I started a challenge so naturally I couldn't stay behind myself. Meet Agent Anthrax, my first 3D print now painted for the challenge. I figured he also deserved his own Show Off. Challenge: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91144-painting-the-pandemic-challenge-by-glitterwolf/ WIP https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91379-survivor-dog-by-glitterwolf/

For my Pandemic Challenge I decided to paint this nice doggo with gasmask. It was the first mini that I printed with my Elegoo Mars Resin Printer. I'm giving him a spare resin base I had lying around. Started with Reaper Grey Liner. The Reaper liners are excellent primers for Bones , but also for Resin!!

Painted this for a friend's group. Their party acquired a dog they love so much that they spent all their gold to armor him up. He now has the highest AC in the party.

Sir Guinemar the Righteous takes his loyal pooch Worral with him on all his adventures. Worral is a good companion, a devoted friend and useful for catching rabbits. He wears a jaunty hat with a feather in it because Sir Guinemar discovered that it makes his doggo an absolute babe magnet. After years of searching, Sir Guinemar finally found the legendary lost treasure of Lord Nicholai Brevil, reputedly the wealthiest man in the five kingdoms, in the ruins of Aeckland Castle. After giving a quick prayer of thanks, Sir Guinemar heard a noise somewhere in the dungeon and went to check it out, leaving Worral to guard the hoard of gold, silver and gemstones. That was 30 minutes ago. Worral has just noticed that Sir Guinemar forgot his sword. (Treasure chest by Debris of War; doggo by RBJ Games; sword by Reaper. And if you could find it in your hearts to ignore the fingerprints in the greenstuff flagstones, that would be great.)

I got this old GW Mordheim Witchhunter Wardog from a BOGW, he came primed black. Decided to paint him as an Akita so he could be included in my Nippon Project as Mariko's companion. I finished this little chap recently. The flat stones in the base are sculpted by myself, I was going for a old temple floor which nature has started to claim back type look. Some other views: I really love this sculpt! C & C's always welcome!

These are the dread wolves from the cemetery set in Bones 3. I think I might work on the rest of the cemetery set this week. I need to work on Count Lorenth of the Reaper Facebook Quarterly Contest too! Anyway, these creepy wolves have seen better days. I'm not sure if they are undead or only mostly dead (bonus points if you get the reference) but I painted them up so that I think they will work either way. Adventurers will certainly get a nasty disease if they are bitten or scratched by one of these guys! I painted these in my push to paint all of the toothy fluffs in my "hoard of unpainted things".

My most recently complete project is the lovely ladies of Oathsworn Miniature's "Heroines in Sensible Shoes 3" Kickstarter. As always, they are a joy to paint. They have nice, bold details but without being overwrought. They definitely look like a bunch of starting adventurers! The theme this time was more exotic races, notably a bunch from "Volo's Guide to Monsters" The ladies ascend the mountain: The Kitsune. She could be a lightly armored Fighter, a Rogue, or a Ranger. The Kenku (or Tengu) Shaman. Or Wizard. Or Sorcerer. Or whatever. She's got a bone to pick with you! The Kenku or Tengu Rogue. I went with oranges for them to continue my previous work on the Bones Tengu...which were also dressed in orange to match the official D&D pre-paints. The Dragonborn, could be a Fighter or Paladin. The decision to make her red was regrettable...with that pointy face and dreads, I kept thinking of Ugandan Warrior Knuckles. Stupid memes getting in the way! Tabaxi or Catfolk. I tried to go with more of a Ranger color scheme than the intended Rogue. The other Tabaxi/Catfolk from the set. I liked the intent of this sculpt...she could be a spellcaster, a Monk, or a Bard! The Halfling Knight. Her mount was painted after my own painting gremlin, Hershey. He would be much smaller to scale, though. The Tiefling Paladin. I really like the pose of this one, though I questioned the hooves, as 4E and 5E Tieflings of this design have human feet. I may wind up greenstuffing her into boots at some point. The Firbolg Druid. As far as I know, this is the only miniature of a 5E style Firbolg. The Minotaur Swashbuckler. I bet you were expecting a cow joke here. The terrain:

Presenting Bill Sykes (and Bullseye!), leader of the Dickensian faction from the game Twisted. Going back to painting true-scale minis, and rather detailed ones at that, proved harder than I thought it would, but I think I did a decent job. I just wish my varnish hadn't left Bills coat so shiny. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
