o I finished Thregan this morning with a second application of water effect... Added a few tufts and some Green Turf Blend as well.. WIP here So here he is! Comments appreciated! The Drow No to find the female Thief / Assassin in the pile of lead...

Another NPC - this time a 'robust' bard, with notions of being a fancy man. The blue vest did not work as well as I intended, and of course I noticed the bare spots on the base after photos - but had fun with the feather!

Presenting Tirinha Fallowheart, a Dreadmere faction mini made by Reaper. Didn't put much effort into this one, it's a nice mini but I think mine is a bit miscast (her details are a little soft and mushy in places). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Finally painted her up! Is that a wolf head, an elf head, or... your friend's head in the sack? Can't see too well in the photos, but I did add some blood...

@ShantyShakin i took some inspiration from your work and decided to keep mine close. Thanks for the idea! I'm going to do a couple of parts here. Currently I'm in the base layer stage and just got all the colors down. Will be washing and highlighting next. Thought it might be cool to see the before and after this time.

Nothing screams secret stealth assassin on a mission to do bloody murder as having members-only assassin guild special shrouded armour that is distinct and different from all other armour types and uniforms... I've got more dead things for you today. @Igormortis isn't the only one looking for some dirty dead! Here's my little collection of swamp zombies. The crowning jewel of this set is of course the Dreadmere Wight from Bone 4 Dreadmere. He's got plenty of character packed into such a simple model. I love him. Along side him we have a repainted Zombie from D&D Giants of Legend prepaints (#40). I've had this guy for ages, way before i learned to play D&D or ever picked up a mini brush. His paintjob was pretty bland and I definitely think I (un)livened him up. Would make a great shaman-type mini. And filling out the horde we have the Zombies from the Castle Ravenloft board game. Again. Rather bland sculpts, but I like them a lot more now. Their weird posture was the inspiration for the swamp theme as I imagined them pulling themselves up out of the muck. All together, they're a fun thematic set and add for some variety to my dusty Graveyard Zombies. Which one do you like best?

(forgive me, very new to the forums) Andowyn Thrushmoor!It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky. Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

Painted up the cart from Reaper's Bones 4 Dreadmere expansion, and did some modifications to it. First, I installed magnets into three base and the crate and barrel so they wouldn't fall off, and then created a bunch of cabbages because I'm a huge Avatar fan. But then, I needed a cabbage salesman, and so I did some modifications to a Bones 4 villager (head swap, added hat, modified the hand, etc) and painted him as a close approximation. Finally, just for fun, I threw in the halfling Kineticist that I painted up in Aang's colors a year or so ago...

This is the thread where I'll paint my Dreadmere stuff to go with new Bones V stuff when it arrives. I started with my extra Gulper ( 44038 ) and rowboat (Dreadmere Fishing Boat 44032 ). starting with Gulper inspiration - the redtail catfish.

More WHFRP-suitable characters I forgot to post in October! Sheriff Drumfasser, 44018, is a fine officious Authority Figure. With his fancy hat and proclamation, he could also do duty as a magic-user of some kind. Gave him a green color scheme; it's not ideal but I wanted to color-code my monster hunters. More shots: And Brother Hammond, the mendicant friar. Warm browns and yellowish tans. More turnaround: And of course, ACTION SHOTS! Who doesn't love reading incantations from crumbling vellum that end in "...by these names I conjure and adjure thee!"? Especially in an unhallowed place shunned by the decent folk of the town, under the moon's maddening light? (Pro tip: Have another scroll ready for abjuring those you have called up; big time-saver there.) Guest appearances by a Spirit, 77098, in green, and the Ghoulie Bag female Spectre, in purple. And here's Brother Hammond engaging in theological dialogue with a conflicted monster. You can imagine the soteriological, teleological, and pneumatological difficulties that inhere with a being stitched together from half-a-dozen corpses and brought to grotesque life in a parody of both creation and resurrection--and that's not even considering the crisis of identity. If any monster needs pastoral counseling (or, indeed, would be willing to listen and able to keep up), it's Frankenstein's.

My DM asked if I had a unicorn mini for our session this weekend. I didn't have one but I did have this mini. I actually thought it was a reimagined Peryton initially so I went with a fantastical color palette. Something bright and happy before it reveals itself evil, lol. The most dangerous creatures can be the most colorful. It was nagging me that it didn't fit the Peryton characteristics so I looked into a little further and realized it was a nature spirit instead. I would have used a more natural color palette if I had realized that in advance but I kind of dig it anyway. Trying my hand at making an interesting base for the first time, I wanted another item to help anchor it. I played around with a few ideas and then remembered I had this little mini. The wolptinger is from the Familiar line from Raging Hereos. He has the most adorable angry face. I just see this story playing out in my head of this beautiful, colorful Nature Spirit wandering the world with his more natural, angry bunny buddy. I think of the blending of blues and purples came out successfully enough. It's a step in the right direction for me. For the first time, creating a real base for it, that was complicated and fun. The moral of the stories is that while a plan is best, sometimes you just roll with it anyway and it will turn out alright.

Hey, all! Its been a little while and I finally sat down and painted something. I put these guys together and I'm really happy with the shading. I wanted to put some water on the bases, so I tried wrapping them with plastic and pouring realistic water in. It... did not go according to plan. The water cured unevenly, shrank, left weird tide lines, partially peeled off... Basically everything that could go wrong with it went wrong. Luckily, I had sealed the model before pouring the water, so I was able to peel it off with an exacto and some tweezers. I salvaged what I could and I think they still look pretty good.

Here we see Delia "The red terror" Axemaiden and Konrad "Quickfingers", the fastest rogue the realms ever seen... and Klauth the Pug, their beloved only son. Now retired, they enjoy the dolce vita.

Madame Delia is available in metal as of this week, and is part of the Core Set in the Bones 5 Kickstarter, so I thought people might enjoy taking a look at my take on her. I talk about my thoughts on painting the cloth and colour scheme choices a bit on my blog. Couple of quick paint jobs here. The giants worms came from the Dreadmere expansion in KS4. I don't know product numbers yet. I used them to test some Citadel Contrast paint. Started with white spray primer and it took 3 coats to get complete coverage. Glad I wasn't trying to do any kind of detail work on them. They are posed with a 3d printed fire pit my husband made for me.
