The Egyptians of old venerated the scarab as an aspect of Ra, the motivator that propelled the Sun across the sky like a dung-ball. Thousands of years later, the red desert has covered the sacred sites, and vulgar adventurers dig for treasure. But it does not do to profane the shrine of a god! Or perhaps it is just that, in the desert, everything is hungry. Either way, it's not pleasant. Or quick. What a great pulpy sculpt, and what a horrible way to go!

Hi all! How do you do? It's been a while since I last shared a mini here. I recently converted and painted one for my egyptian-themed Frostgrave warband. Since the mini depicts a woman with bare breasts, I am supposed -as per the forum rules- to post links to the pictures instead of displaying them directly in the post. So consider this topic slightly NSFW. To begin with, here is the mini I started with: https://www.reapermini.com/search/yanara https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/01/p1090389.jpg For the conversion, here's what I did: Sawed the head off. A brutal surgery but a necessary one. [picture] Replaced the head with a bald one from Statuesque Miniatures. [picture] Filed off the remaining hair with a Dremmel power tool. [picture] Filed off the belt decoration and replace it with an Ankh cross. Resculpted the piece of fur on her shoulders and upper back. Cut off the top of her staff and replace it with an egyptian staff decoration (a double ostrich feather ornament) The result after the conversion: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090830.jpg After priming in off-white: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090832.jpg And finally, the painted mini: [Front Picture] / [Side Picture 1] / [Side Picture 2] / [Back Picture] / [Close-up Picture] If you want to see the pictures directly, you may visit my blog post (although it's written in french): https://legolemquireve.wordpress.com/2022/06/29/sandgrave-djesa-la-thaumaturge/

Hi everybody. Since I recently joined the Reaper forum, I thought I might as well share one of my latest painted minis. The original model: https://www.reapermini.com/search/03506 I have chosen this mini to represent a wizard apprentice in an egyptian version of Frostgrave. Since she is 'only' an apprentice, I wanted her to look a little less important, which is why I cut off the tiara. Unfortunately the little baboon that was included hasn't been painted as I have no use for him... yet. Hope you like it. Have a nice day everybody!

3D printed design from Primeval Clash, printed on my Elegoo Mars. Flamefin and Handler ( Dimetrodon and Egyptian Guard) Part of my Shifting Sands Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/page/20/#comments Posing on my Temple of Apophis Photobackdrop Board. ***************** Usually when an expedition searches for ancient sites they don't expect those sites to be still inhabited by the original owners. Even less so they expect to encounter a beast from beyond time that these people seem to use as guard dogs.

Hello everyone, I completed this one last night. Dark Heaven Legends 02885, Khalith the Mummy Lord and Cobra familiar. This awesome model was sculpted by James van Schaik.

So for my Shifting Sands Project I would like a photobackdrop like I did for my Lost World. Sort of a little diorama/terrain piece on its own but also a nice backdrop. I'll present to you: The Temple of Apophis ( or Apep) the Forbidden God. Nobody in his right mind would worship the Suneater, or would they? Start and some shuffling around with pieces to get ideas. I already have some stuff in mind, still possible to change/add stuff. Printing the Artisan Guild Snake Statues that go with that altar as we speak. Need more of those braziers, and I will print up some Egyptian torches, maybe columns etc... Now! KNEEL before Apophis!!!

The flickering glow of the torchlight illuminates the dusty, hieroglyphic-covered walls of the forgotten tomb. Moonglow clings to his hat as he carefully scans for signs of the hidden entrance. A small indentation betrays the location of a door in the stone wall. Carefully, the adventurer pushes his way through. The room is barren and dark, except for a single pillar of light shining down upon a small pedestal. On top sits a small box. Moonglow carefully crosses the chamber and approaches the box. He lifts the lid and peers inside. "Ah, there's my old minis!" Who's Your Mummy? Today I felt like sharing some more of my older work that hasn't been posted on the forums yet. This time it's the Bones mummies that are getting the spotlight. These mummies were one of my first large painting projects. It seemed impressive at the time to be working on 8 things simultaneously. They're a bit dusty from all the drybrushing, but I think they look the part, and I'm a fan of the red-gold color scheme I settled on. More Photos beneath the spoiler: These were a fun little set and were perfect adversaries when my players visited the City of Time and sought to stop a Lich's return to power. After failing once an resetting the clock, they had to fight their way through a mummy-filled temple complete with crawling claws and sand-filling rooms to stop the Mummy Lord from returning to his former Lich status. What's your favorite mummy encounter?

I got this one as an STL file from Titan Forge, printed her on my Elegoo Mars. Background is blue foam, I used the GreenstuffWorld Egyptian Roller Pin on that. The two Canopy Jars are from Reaper's Nefsokhar Weapon Pack. Base is from a BOGW. She's part of my Shifting Sands Project. Meet Zafira, Raider of Tombs and Pyramids. Statuesque's Pulp Alley line is going away forever, but when I saw this figure I knew it was non-negotiable! There's a recurring character in my Weird West games, a yuan-ti pureblood and snake cultist called Doctor Apophis. I had been using the Deadlands Noir Houngan mini for this, but hoo boy. The serpentine features, from the smoothed-out ears to the wide-set eyes and fangs! The precision-incised hieroglyphs! Click for turnaround: "Farouk, can it be true? Did the ritual succeed?!" "Your doubt wounds me, Hassan; have you known me to fail in the past?" <INDEED, I LIVE AGAIN.> <IS IT NOT WRITTEN ON MY FLESH THAT I SHOULD RETURN? IN IMPERISHABLE WORDS OF THE HIERATIC SCRIPT THAT WILL OUTLAST THE HATED SUN.> <THOUGH YOU ARE BUT DOGS AND JACKALS, YET YOU WILL SERVE IN THE COMING NIGHT.> "Aziz, what does he say? I am unfamiliar with this dialect." "He...he says he is very pleased to meet you and looks forward to working with you, O Farouk!" (We've seen Aziz and Farouk before.)

Finished the Bones Version of the Avatar of Thoth. Sculptes a bit of ruins with a Greenstuffworld Rollerpin. Thoth is often depicted as an Ibis, I choose the Red Ibis as inspiration. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/&page=9 Lots of pics, I tried my new cell phone and it seems to do it's job well.

This is Reaper's 14048, Fatima, Nefsokar Cleric. Or rather it will be when you click on the links because she's super NSFW, front and back. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PAINTED FIGURE FATIMA, NEFSOKAR CLERIC. There isn't a WIP thread because I couldn't figure out how to make one that would abide by the board rules. But questions or comments are appreciated. The images are hosted on Instagram so you can post comments there too if you like.

Sculptor: Bob Ridolfi I fished this cute girl out of the Box o' Goodwill from the Reaper forums, so it's only right that she make her way back to another forum member as an exchange mini for Secret Sophie 2016. Tricksay wanted to receive "open to anything"; I love when people pick that, because I can just paint whatever I feel like. Thanks to Bonwirn for giving me a bunch of Hirst Arts blocks to make the diorama out of. After I took these pictures I realized: OMG, you can't even see the rear half that I spent so much time on. Despite the chance of ruining the mini, I carefully drilled a magnet hole through the bottom of the base so she can be removed. I threw in a gaming base as well for picture taking purposes, and just in case Tricksay ever wants to use her in a game. I was joking with my friends at paint day that "no, those are her adventuring clothes; convenient necklace, weird skirt-thong and all."

Put your left hand in Put your left hand out Put your left hand in And shake it all about Do the hokey pokey and turn yourself about! That's what it's all about! Sigh. So I meant to get all these lovely Egyptian themed minis painted in October. In the end I only got the standard mummies done and the mummy warriors' bandages barely started. Looks like I already have my November painting challenge minis lined up. Completed pics of the rest hopefully next month.

This character comes in two versions. I already painted the nice one. This is her evil, medusa headed version. I also experimented with very pale skin, using Spectral White and Lavender. That mop in her right hand is the wig that the other model wears to cover her snakes. Link to NSFW image.

Finished up a couple of figures from the Temple of Set project. The guy on the left reminds me of someone I saw in a movie once [wink]. The cultist originally had a flail or scourge in his right hand, but it broke so I replaced it with a second blade.

Huge box of sandstone Lunesdargent Workshop terrain arrived from KS and I'm starting to paint it up... Trying to pick out a paint scheme and I'm looking for suggestions. I'm looking to do Egyptian style ruins rather then a "current" time version that might still having colored paint. How the pieces come is in the upper right ... I've tried a dark redish-brown GW wash reikland flesh iirc (upper left), tempered it back with a heavy bone drybrush (lower left), also tried a 20:1 Reaper Ruddy Brown wash lower right. Not really happy with any thus far, and don't want to burn out too many pieces on tests. I found some pictures of a hirst arts set with a paint scheme I like, but I'm not entirely sure how to achieve the effect. Maybe a heavier ruddy brown wash with a bone or sand color drybrush over it? I can't link to the pic as its on another .com but if you google image search for etomb359.jpg it will come up. Appreciate any suggestions!

A little something I picked up from my FLGS's discount bin; this 54mm scale mummified minotaur comes with a choice of horns and pole-cleavers to attach to an otherwise simple assembly. Here are the parts laid out before priming. I still struggle to decide which horns and weapon to build him with. Using one means not using the other, after all, but I figure they'll find another place to go eventually.
