  1. Good evening my Reaperlangarians! So it feels like I haven't been too productive this year, got kind of stuck on painting Lord Soth, which seemed to take longer than it should have, but now that he's painted up, it's onwards to other little projects. These two I actually finished last weekend, but I always take pictures with sunny weather, but it's been cloudy all week long until today. The only time it was sunny was last Sunday when I got up, went grocery shopping really quickly to Aldis and when I got home, saw the sun. I went into the shower really quickly to clean up and then I was going to take pictures of these ladies, but by the time I got out and dried off it was cloudy again. So anyhoos, pictures finally taken and here they are, the first is a Female Dwarven Warrior, not too sure who sculpted her: and the next one is Kylie Darkwalker, a Wild Elf Thief, sculptor also unknown: I like both figures, both pretty fun. I like them especially because they are Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals figures, but I think sculpted much later in the company's history. I'm guessing latter nineties, but no way to be sure without asking. I'm a bit puzzled by my choice of colors for the elf. I figured wild elf, and though kind of woodsy elf, with brown skin (base code was Reaper's shield brown), and her top is green, but then she has those funky purple pants. She kind of reminds me if I harken back to the days of an old Olivia Newton John video, Let's Get Physical, or something like that where she has a green top and I think pinky/purply spandex pants. I actually just went to look at a picture and my memory was a bit faulty, it was a bright blue top and pink sweatpants. In any case, hope these provide moments of visual pleasure and simulation, until the next chunk of minis!
  2. Hello All, Here are photos of a 77203 Dark Heaven Bones "Alastriel, Female Elf Wizard" I completed yesterday. Thank you for looking.
  3. Hello All, Here are photos of a Dark Heaven Legends 03415 "Lanura Windsong, Elf Wizard" I completed last Friday. Thank you for looking.
  4. Hello All, Here are photos of a 77205 Dark Heaven Bones "Alistrilee, Elf Archer" miniature I completed last week. Thank you for looking.
  5. Hi: Painted this for RCL, but it didn't get submitted as the group sort of fell apart at that last minute. Anyways, it was fun to play with more 'undead' skin tones, and the mix of undercoat plus 'super wash' was unexpectedly effective for both the twine wrap on the spear and the bandage clothing. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a sculptor/plastic surgeon: this witch needs a reverse nose job! She was fun to paint, so I may have to track down a metal or Bones USA version of her at some point.
  6. Hello All, Here is a Bones USA 30001 Lysette Elven Mage I completed several days ago. Thank you for looking.
  7. Hello All, Here is a metal Dark Heaven Legends 02506 "Rath, Dark Elf" I completed this week. Thank you for looking.
  8. I like how she turned out. She seems like she'd be haughty, but could also take care of herself in a fight.
  9. The original model had a weird sash kind of thing across his chest. I didn't care for that, so I did some minor modifications and ended up with some light leather armor on the torso. I actually ended up using him as a half-elf rogue character in a campaign a few months back (after his adventure, he decided to retire from the life and become a farmer).
  10. This mini is from Wrath of Ashardalon boardgame. It was a quick and simple paintjob since the sculpt itself is quite simple. Thanks for looking!
  11. Hello All, Here is a 04084 metal Dark Heaven Legends "Mellonir Windrunner, Elf Ranger/Fighter" I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  12. A really nice mini 😃 I enjoyed painting his cloak! 😁
  13. Presenting a Jungle Elf Warrior from Durgin Paint Forges Elves of Inneath range. Pretty happy with him overall, although he's a little washed out in the piccys (He's got awesome abs in hand!). Gotta remember in future to not use metallics for their face-masks though, it just doesn't work right. As always, and comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. Still have to base. Still feel like show needs more. Anyone think the lines on the cape needs to be dark lined instead of white?
  15. Hello everyone, this is 02473, Aramil the Elf Sorcerer sculpted by Sandra Garrity. I like the shoulder pads and the way the overcoat is textured. I went with a reddish color for the staff to complement the colors of the clothes.
  16. Painted a couple of years ago. The colour scheme took ages to figure out and I was quite happy with it. Definitely could have made the base a bit more interesting.
  17. Dark Elf Archer Something of a standard thing now, the clothed/armored ones are the base files. Unlocking stretch goals causes their clothes to fall off.
  18. Presenting Celine, an Elf archer from the Luminth warband in the Warhammmer:- Underworlds game by Games Workshop. Lots of fiddly bits on this one, but she came out alright in the end. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  19. Hey everyone, here's Lanaerel Grayleaf the wood elf. This Dungeon Dwellers model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  20. I'm very happy with how the skin tone turned out on this mini.
  21. Since the Eye Beasts are making good progress, getting the next model ready. A suitable Player Character model. Turanil, Male Elf Paladin. The plan is white and red. I’m hoping the peacock comes across as a Phoenix.
  22. Presenting Lysette, a mage from the Bones USA line by Reaper. Started on this one back in January, but got stuck on her dress so she spent a while in the Cupboard Of Unfinished Things. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like her sky blue hair and it's really blown the colours out, she looks a tad better in hand. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  23. ....and when the last crumbs of hope were lost, from the deeps of the elven forest, came a heroine! Alright, this happened to be an interesting project. I'm guessing Fiara lost a bunch of details when going from metal to plastic bones. At some point, I felt like there wasn't much to work with. I ended up free-handing some of the details. Also, blacklining seemed to help quiet a lot. I originally wanted to use metalics on the sword, but at the last moment decided for NMM. As always, all sorts of feedback is welcomed! 🙂 P.S. For the love of God, I could not take a good picture of her! (or a picture that would satisfy my likeness). So, I'm dumping a few extras in here.
  24. Finished my first mini this year, and oddly enough it was a speedpaint, taking just over an hour... On the flipside, some of those colours work together really, REALLY well, like Sunrise Orange and Heart Throb Paint.
  25. Here's an odd one. Anyone know of a miniature of someone over-bundled up against the cold? I have this vision of an elf who has made his home in a frigid land despite being unaccustomed to the weather. Just wondering if there's a playful model like that out there of a character wearing too many cloaks and scarves. It's not-essential but I would love the opportunity to bring this weird character to life. ---- As an addendum, if you have suggestions for models that could be easily converted I'm also interested. Or resources for sculpting scarves and the like.
