  1. Presenting a Jungle Elf Warrior from Durgin Paint Forges Elves of Inneath range. Pretty happy with him overall, although he's a little washed out in the piccys (He's got awesome abs in hand!). Gotta remember in future to not use metallics for their face-masks though, it just doesn't work right. As always, and comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Still have to base. Still feel like show needs more. Anyone think the lines on the cape needs to be dark lined instead of white?
  3. Hello everyone, this is 02473, Aramil the Elf Sorcerer sculpted by Sandra Garrity. I like the shoulder pads and the way the overcoat is textured. I went with a reddish color for the staff to complement the colors of the clothes.
  4. Painted a couple of years ago. The colour scheme took ages to figure out and I was quite happy with it. Definitely could have made the base a bit more interesting.
  5. Dark Elf Archer Something of a standard thing now, the clothed/armored ones are the base files. Unlocking stretch goals causes their clothes to fall off.
  6. Presenting Celine, an Elf archer from the Luminth warband in the Warhammmer:- Underworlds game by Games Workshop. Lots of fiddly bits on this one, but she came out alright in the end. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  7. Hey everyone, here's Lanaerel Grayleaf the wood elf. This Dungeon Dwellers model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  8. I'm very happy with how the skin tone turned out on this mini.
  9. Since the Eye Beasts are making good progress, getting the next model ready. A suitable Player Character model. Turanil, Male Elf Paladin. The plan is white and red. I’m hoping the peacock comes across as a Phoenix.
  10. Presenting Lysette, a mage from the Bones USA line by Reaper. Started on this one back in January, but got stuck on her dress so she spent a while in the Cupboard Of Unfinished Things. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like her sky blue hair and it's really blown the colours out, she looks a tad better in hand. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  11. ....and when the last crumbs of hope were lost, from the deeps of the elven forest, came a heroine! Alright, this happened to be an interesting project. I'm guessing Fiara lost a bunch of details when going from metal to plastic bones. At some point, I felt like there wasn't much to work with. I ended up free-handing some of the details. Also, blacklining seemed to help quiet a lot. I originally wanted to use metalics on the sword, but at the last moment decided for NMM. As always, all sorts of feedback is welcomed! 🙂 P.S. For the love of God, I could not take a good picture of her! (or a picture that would satisfy my likeness). So, I'm dumping a few extras in here.
  12. Finished my first mini this year, and oddly enough it was a speedpaint, taking just over an hour... On the flipside, some of those colours work together really, REALLY well, like Sunrise Orange and Heart Throb Paint.
  13. Here's an odd one. Anyone know of a miniature of someone over-bundled up against the cold? I have this vision of an elf who has made his home in a frigid land despite being unaccustomed to the weather. Just wondering if there's a playful model like that out there of a character wearing too many cloaks and scarves. It's not-essential but I would love the opportunity to bring this weird character to life. ---- As an addendum, if you have suggestions for models that could be easily converted I'm also interested. Or resources for sculpting scarves and the like.
  14. I love me some weekend painting! Got another one from the 90's batch of Ral Partha's. This one is a Drow Elf. Was feeling like trying some of the darker skin tones after watching another RVE on it. Feels pretty good! BATTLE REPORT! Wins: * Skin combo: Black Brown, Black Red, Orange Red. Used in conjunction with one another. The highlights are still on the darker side, but you can still make out muscle and shape. Win! * Used copper/brown combo to bring this guy to life. Feels very warm, but still needs some kind of "pop" color somewhere. I tried to make that happen on the fletchings on the bolts, but feels like it needs more. * Gradient work on the weapon. I was trying to think of it radiating heat, since this is the underdark afterall. I wasn't able to pull off a glowing effect or OSL, but it seems like it works. * The face - getting the mustache, side burns, and eyes to really pop was fun. I feel VERY happy about the eyes. Misses: * Not wild about the accessories colors. * Questioning the color chosen for the sword. * Was messing around a few times on what parts were wood, metal, or otherwise on the crossbow. Meh. * Hair is still an area I struggle with. I did 3 layers on this one. Deep grey, light grey, white. I feel it comes out strong, but not super good on showing definition or volume in the hair. Always open to any feedback anyone has. I'm also curious to think of what kind of base to put this guy on. Any thoughts?
  15. I had started this meaning to use it for the reapercon quad color clash. But I took too long and then decided it need another 3 colors. So technically it's 7 color. Mint green vampire mist, dungeon grey, some old hd blue who's label fell off, carbon grey, shadowed stone, golden glow.
  16. I already have the human blacksmith, but I wanted another blacksmith. Unfortunately I applied the paint to thick at parts (which didn't really help the fact that her face was kinda just a tiny glob already) but Ive got a wet palette that Ill be trying to use next time. I'm also absolutely awful at painting female faces, they always look ridiculous once I paint them haha. Anyways, and criticisms and advice are always welcome
  17. So some times you just done get things finished with the deadline you have imposed on yourself and this elf was one of those self-imposed deadlines. I wanted to have her done by Christmas, but just got too busy with other miniatures and other things. I got this figure if I recall last Christmas when I won her with some others on a Reaper Christmas Giveaway on Twitch. Here she is: Always thought she was a cute little figure. The other ones I want but they haven't sold them for a few Christmasses now are the two elves, naughty and nice. But one of these days I'm sure they will pop up again. Anyhoos, enjoy, happy belated Christmas and New Year!
  18. I don't really like this sculpt, they've cut corners too much for my taste, but as I painted Drizzt it grew on me. Has some kind of charm and I like it now hope you will too! (click on the image for better quality)
  19. Finally I finished my conversion of Nienna Elfen Ranger. I pretty much changed every aspect of the original mini. New things attempted: Cloth textures and freckles. C&C very welcome. Areas to improve: Blends (smoother is always better), finer texture patterns, sculpt could be a little cleaner in some places.

  21. Good morning Reapermaniacs, So here's one I've had painted for about a week or so but have never just gotten around to sit down at my normal computer to post him. This one is one I've actually had for a long time, and it's an old lead version back from the seventies. I had to at one point I think scrape off some paint. I had another newer version of him, but the detail was pretty soft so ended up painting up the original, whose details were so much more nice and crisp. And being he was a "high" elf, I wanted him to have some nice light colors, no greens and browns. Anyhoos, here he is: I've been on a recent kick painting these older miniatures, even old by Partha standards (pre-eighties). I think I'm going to keep painting them, putting them into my normal mix of newer, old Partha figures. In any case, hope you like them!
  22. Not seen many painted examples of this mini, which is odd because I love the pose and demeanour of her. I've sketched in the basic colours but it's not really speaking to me at this point. I think I could do something with tweaking some shades and maybe introducing a spot colour to lift it. I can't decide how to paint the tassles, for example. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears - which reminds me, I added big elfy ears to the model, should it look odd to anyone. I'd love to see anyone else's version of this mini, too.
  23. I've had this one in the works for a while. She's a little more cheerful and Art Noveau than most of the rest of my Miskatonic staff, but that's okay! Misk.U. cultivates eccentrics of all types. She seems to be handling the job just fine. And those pointed ears indicate she's already survived a brush with chaos, or perhaps has a little bit of eldritch in her. Her colleagues are a Stonehaven halfling librarian and a Black Cat librarian/cultist. Gave them both a minor touch-up for this shoot.
  24. This is Peruhain, Elven Monk (SKU 3169, Metal) from Reaper. I am trying to paint up at least one of every main class/race combination.
