  1. My next project is another ranger. I already have a cool male elf ranger, but thought it might be nice to add a female version. So going through the Bones minis I came across Nienna. Unfortunately her face detail was very shallow and detail was overall a bit hit and miss. I love the pose, though. Out comes the scalpel, greenstuff and bitz box. Two evening sessions later I swapped the head and weapon, shaved away some of the front detail and resculpted the area. I am not entirely finished yet, but soon I can establish the base colours.
  2. This is the rather old-school 15500f, Female Elf Ranger, from Das Schwarze Auge, Germany's answer to D&D. WIP thread here.
  3. I've not posted anything here for the last month or so as I've been working on a commission, which I thought I would share here. The minis are from the past & present & are by various manufacturers. I extended the integral metal bases out to the edge of the plastic rim with Milliput & did some light texturing on it, the Frost Giant has Army Painter snow flock on top. The Blight Lord's base was done using Basius's "Dungeon" stamp pad & green stuff. Dark Sword Minis Male Elf Ranger DSM-7105 Ral Partha Frost Giant 01-057 Reaper Minis Brand Male Barbarian 02529 Reaper Minis Townsfolk VII Clergy 02950 Rebel Minis Blight Lord RFF0209 Off The Wall Armies Swordfish Fighter GCC17-2183 C & C's are always welcome, thanks for looking!
  4. Just felt like painting up the bones version of Athrand since he is such a classic ranger/archer figure.
  5. So this is probably my least favorite mini I've produced since getting back into the hobby. I'm really really really bad at browns for some reason, which I think is due to 98 percent of my paints being Vallejo or Reaper (easy to thin and mix), and all my browns being GW. Overall, not my best work, and pretty sloppy. I've also been considering adding actual nice bases to these models instead of these boring Brocolli bases, which I think might add a bit of life to them. Tell me what you think!
