    DDS Female Elf Rogue

This week I finished a quick tabletop job on the Female Elf Rogue from the Dragons Don't Share Set (Does she have a name?) I plan to use her in one of my Frostgrave Warbands. C and C welcome.
  3. I recently completed painting the Elquin, High Elf Adventurer figure from the Bones I Kickstarter. I wanted to use him as my Chronomancer wizard for my Frostgrave games, as I felt his outfit was vaguely reminiscent of a French Napoleonic uniform, and would be fitting for a time-traveling wizard. Some of you may remember I recently posted my Sascha Dubois figure, which I had painted as the Chronomancer's Apprentice http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/65273-sascha-dubois-chronomancers-apprentice-conversion-80004/?hl=%2Bsascha+%2Bdubois because of her vaguely 18th century looking outfit. I modified the figure, to help bring across the Chronomancer look, by adding a small disc punched from thin cardboard to the top of his staff to make it resemble a sundial. IMG_5674 by cnjpalmer I painted him for tabletop use, so took some shortcuts. I'm pleased with the results, though I wish I had taken the time to get his eyes focused where his hand is pointing, and not glancing off to the side. I was just so thrilled to get them relatively level and even, and both looking in he same direction, that I didn't want to mess with them further. Here's the finished result: IMG_5887 by cnjpalmer And here is the Chronomancer and his Apprentice: IMG_5900 by cnjpalmer

    Hasslefree Daphos, Elf Knight

This is Hasslefree Daphos, Twisted Dark Elf Anti-Hero (HFE004) painted up as a High Elf, since there is not that many Elf miniatures with large swords out there. The blue metal is Vallejo Gunmetal Blue with Reaper Steel and Reaper Silver metallic paints.

    Two drows

Hi I had long break from painting, because i was preparing Festus the leechlord and it is so complicated that i had enought with my hobby... Today i painted two old figures from my friend collection (I dont know manufacturer). I had to sculpt head of the dragon because it was lacking:( and i made bra for one of drows beacause she had very strange breasts. Im happy with drow skintone i think its very underdark. http://imageshack.com/a/img908/9548/eOOxF4.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img908/9599/bp9W4V.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img908/6772/SxZsVP.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img907/6008/yDCP8W.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img903/9890/vmGiJI.jpg Thanks for watching.

    77071: Elladan, Elf Ranger

Went through my Bones 1 kickstarter box recently and decided to give this guy some color. I'm thinking of using him as a rogue, hence the dark clothes.

    77205: Alistrilee by Silvervane

Here is a figure I started right after RCon '15. In my hotel room to kill time. I started the NMM one way, then I decided to try out the Scale75 Gold NMM paints. I think it came OK even after all the gloss and dullcote. Thanks for looking. C&C (and even Critiques) are welcome. PS: I'm beginning to think next year I need to add painting wood details better to my list of goals
  8. I did a quick commission tonight for one of the PCs in my D&D group. Here it is:
  9. When the dogs went crazy today, I knew it had to be my exchange mini since all of my mini orders have already been delivered. I was right! I had a package on the porch from the states. I couldn't stop smiling as I brought it in to open it. It was like Christmas! What would be in the box? In the box was a note on top of two bubblewrapped bundles. I couldn't see anything through the bubblewrap! The note told me who my exchange partner was - terminalmancer. It also told me that the figures are 77329 Silver Dragon which he explained he painted gold because "just because"! The second figure is Dark Sword's Wood Elf Goddess (Avatar Form) which he decided to have a go at sheer cloth. They turned out gorgeous! I am going to use them in my game. I think the two of them together could wreak some havoc! Thanks again, terminalmancer! I love them!

    77205: Alistrilee [Bones 2]

Ok, here is a figure I started at RCon. I wanted to get a palette cleansing figure done before I got back to my other WIPs. I didn't realize she was a Bone 2 figure till I got back. So I guess Alistrilee will be my first Bones 2 I paint up. Odd how I'm thinking of doing a figure with all that gold NMM as palette cleansing. Here is where I'm starting from:
  11. Hi all, I just keep plugging away at the classics! This time, a Tom Meier elf from Ral Partha, with sword, shield and bow. I tried to go for kind of a woodlandish color scheme, greens and yellows, so don't know how well I succeeded in that. Photo came out a tad light, but in any case, hope you all enjoy!
  12. I received my fall exchange from Keianna yesterday; I had asked for something outdoorsy/fall themed and/or something creepy for Halloween; it turns out I got both! They are both wonderfully painted; thank you so much! Also if you have more/better pictures, please feel free to add them, or link to to a separate thread. Thanks again!

    60130: Diabolist WIP

With my old combined Reaper WIP thread rendered useless by Imageshacks ineptitude, I've decided to resurrect it as a series (hopefully!) of single WIPs. Starting with the Diabolist:- I've done the skin:- Based with my new Vallejo Elf Flesh, Flesh Shade Wash and highlights of Elf Flesh and 1:1 Elf Flesh/Off-White. I also mixed a drop of Vallejo Hexed Lichen into the final highlight mix for a touch of lipstick and eye-shadow (she also has teeny tiny Vallejo Wolf Grey eyes). Also did her hair:- Based with LED Blue and then washed with GW Gulliman Blue Glaze. I tried putting some white highlights on it, but it kept leaking into the grooves, so I gave up.
  14. Taking a break from my other WIP thread of the huge Reaper order to work on something I picked up from eBay the other day. Origen Art's The Final Battle, a lovely (and insanely detailed) almost Spartan like female elf https://thecursedmonkeys.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/elfablancanegro450.jpg- offical image of her I'll be doing her more as a wood elf, as she's for a specific character called Elisven that'll be introduced into the RP I write with Komplex in the nearish future Anyway, onto the model She arrived very well protected, in a hard plastic case Started out by cleaning up and dry fitting parts, before doing some sub assembly Sir Forscale for... scale Painted her skin a relatively pale colour Next up will be her boots, then I'll work up as I usually do
  15. Well reposting my work as said,.. This is Alastriel. One of my first try on freehands, Together with her pet dragon Furnace.

    Alistrilee, Elf Archer (77205)

I just completed the Alistrilee, female elf archer, figure from the Bones II Core Set. I had actually put this figure in my Bones "out" box when I first sorted my Kickstarter. But since I have been bitten by the Frostgrave bug recently, and needed to boost my warband recruits, I pawed through the "out" box to look for suitable candidates who look attired for winter adventuring. I had culled this figure originally as it is rather plain and lacks a dynamic pose, and I already had a selection of elf archers from Bones I, but her hood and cape made her perfect for exploring the ruins of Felstad. And for those of you who like a close-up to see the details: I'm really pleased with how this figure turned out, and in the end I'm glad she was rescued, as I think this figure has a lot of subtle grace to it, that I missed on first passing. For the complete painting write-up, please see my blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/09/alistrilee-elf-archer-bones-ii-figure.html

    Autumn Ranger

This is Reaper Bones Nienna, Elf Ranger, painted as a display model. There was some frustration about clear detail that would have been allayed, I think, with the metal version of the model, but overall, it worked well. I hope you like her! Work in Progress Thread here.

    14046: Ardynn, Elven Hero

Hello again! Another mini for you all today. I actually painted this guy up a week ago, but never got around to taking some photos, and have since moved on to another project. This guy was somewhat of a rush job, as my girlfriend's wizard had an unfortunate run in with the business end of an ogre's falchion, and lets just say his head and body had a "parting of ways". So she decided to roll up an good old fashioned elven ranger for the next week. So we had to pick out a new mini, order him, prep, base and paint him up in a week. Not the paint scheme I'd have gone with for this mini personally, it feels a little cliche, but hey, not my character. I'm calling this guy table quality and done for now, I'm really not happy with the highlight work on the sword, and the cape ended up a bit more vivid than I'd envisaged (lesson learned, mix in some white next time!). As always tips and comments welcome (especially any advice on fixing that sword...)
  19. So here's my latest completed mini. Other than the base coating, which I did last week in Reaper pure black and Vallejo Game Model Color German cammo black brown, I knocked him out in about 3 hours this evening. I still have a small amount of touch-up work to do (at least a second coat on the base) but he is essentially done. I tried a few new things with this guy, and I am very happy with how he turned out. First, I tried painting blue gemstones on the hilt of the sword, which I think came out pretty good for my first attempt at doing them. I also made use of my Army Painter inks, using blue tone on the sword blade and blue and purple tone on the shield. I really like how that turned out. I'll do have full WIP write-up on him later (I took a ton of pictures while I was painting him with my camera and new SD card, and now I can't access them because my SD card reader stopped working. Have to buy a new one this weekend.) Anyway, I hope you guys like him. Comments and suggestions are very welcome!
  20. I had a request from one of the guys I play Pathfinder with (he is a GM for one campaign, and he plays in another). He wanted an elf with a bow to represent his PC in the new Hell's Rebels adventure path we started last week. His only requirements were that it be a male elf with a bow, black hair, and earth tones for the clothes. As you can see, I went with browns for the cloak/robe and green for the cowl. I may do some basing work on it later, but it's ready for the table top at least. I had a lot of fun painting this one! Sorry for the bad quality photos. I can't find my SD card for my actual camera so I'm reduced to using my iPhone.
  21. You know how I'm always asking for a deserty barbariany roguey elf wielding a spiked chain? This is what happens when you don't give it to me, sculptors and companies. I ruin your sculpts. In this case, Bobby Jackson's Irith, Deathseeker Hero. ~10 years ago, I created a character concept, a barbarian rogue assassin from a desert moon. Probably not that great an idea; whatever. I loved it. Didn't wind up getting to play him, but the name became my main Internet handle for a long time, and I always kept the concept in mind. This past winter I joined a game, decided he'd be a perfect fit, and made him anew. Bought a mini to mod to represent him at the table! But again didn't get to play him. Alas. But I had a mini for him this time. I'm not in love with the figure, but it seemed like a good one for converting. And it was close as I could get on the look. I guess. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out, honestly. I feel like I could've done a lot worse. I cut off the original's weapons. I used jewelry chain for the chain, a hacked-up jewelry bit bead thingy for the spike, and another jewelry bead thingy for the ball. Drilled out hands, wound up having to cut them, and closed them again over the chain. Pretty simple, pretty ghetto, but here we be. Right eye turned out better than the left, I thought. I had him finished a while ago, but I was waiting on a base. It's a desert base from Micro Arts Studio. Thought it fit the theme pretty well. Thanks for looking!
  22. So finally have finish the third elf in my little Tom Meier trilogy of the All American elves. Just got this one done and based, and reasonably happy with him. Kind of took forever to choose colors and they are a bit more lively than the other two I did.

    Elquin, High Elf Adventurer (77092)

So this past week I painted Elquin, High Elf Adventurer, from the Bones I Heroes Set. As I looked at this figure and considered how to paint him, there was something about his outfit that struck me as very Napoleonic in appearance. So, I got the idea to paint him in the style of a French soldier from that era. In general I'm pleased with how he came out, especially the face. And I think the Napoleonic look suits him well. For the full painting write-up, please see my Bones painting blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/08/elquin-high-elf-adventurer-figure-166.html

Ral Partha All American Elf Archer

So just finished this one this evening, getting the grass glued on to the base. I think this one looks better in person than it does in the photo just because of how the photo actually came out, but I've been whining a lot about my photography lately, so it's probably just me. Anyway, tried to keep kind of a cool but basic color palette, ended up imitating the Estonian flag quite a lot. This one is from the same series as the other elf I just finished, sculpted by Tom Meier, in the eighties at some point, need to look at the base to check. Anyhow, enjoy!
  25. So here's an elf that I picked up that was originally from a series I think from the nineties over at Ral Partha, called the All American series. Not sure why it was called that. I'm not sure if it's because all the sculptors were American (but I don't think Bob Olley is, so that idea probably doesn't hold water) or if it's because they were physically sculpted in the U.S. of A., or for some other mysterious reason. Anyhoos, here is one of them, an elf with some slightly in my mind Oriental armor on, short sword and a bow. I've got a couple more of these that I'm working on hopefully in the near future, just need time and energy.
