  1. This is my metal Korgug. I painted him up as a Wikkawak which is a white bugbear that lives in the northern snow covered climes of the Pathfinder world. In the picture the shield shading doesn't look deep enough, but I thought it looked good in person. I may have to take snother look and perhaps give it a thin coat of my walnut ink. Also he's on a base similar to the giant I panted rather than a snow base because I intend to use him in Warlord and wanted him to have a base similar to other reven members. edit: I may have to att a little more flocking to areas to cover up where more of where I cut away his broccoli base.

    77314: Golan, Hill Giant

Finished this guy up over the weekend. Fairly happy with him. I really like how his base turned out. *Sigh* After taking the photos though I am displeased with how I can;t keep paint on the fringes of his loincloth. Nothing even touched that spot and still paint has disappeared. At any rate, the base is supposed to look like cracked stone with grass or moss in it.

    77053: Zombie

A reall simple paint job for this guy, but he painted up real quick and easy which was nice did him in one sitting from start to finish. He's un based for now. I will likely base him in some fashion in the future If I decide to make a Necropolis army, but for now he stands up fine on his own and fits better on the shelf this way. Questions, comments critiques? Hmm his eyes don't look as distinctive in the photo. I really need to figure this photo stuff out.
  4. Happy birthday, O terrifying clown! :bday:

    Ral Partha 01-109 Cloud Giant

Got this guy from the by the ounce boxes at the ironwind booth at Gencon a few years ago. Just got him together and started just before this past gencon. He's my first attempt at greenstuffing a min to make it fir smoothly together. I don't think I did so hot on that. I tried to make it look like pieces of leather that were part of his loin cloth. Other than that I like how he turned out. Comments and critiques welcome. I'm fairly pleased with his face. Sorry about the mostly similar pictures. The Ipad and my lighting were being finicky together.

    77050 Lizardman Warrior

This got painted because I hate to waste paint. So I grabbed him as waste paint receptacle. Any excess paint from other minis got put on him, and all of a sudden I'm finishing him up. The iconic sorceress was also chosen to receive paint overflow but she's not done yet as I haven't painted enough other minis in colors that would look good on her. Questions, comments, critiques, welcome
  7. This is Dawg Hooger. The il begotten grandson of Maw Hooger in my Pathfinder game. I made him from a Gnoll Marauder and a Pugwampi and the greenstuffed his face a bit.

    77251: Bloodhoof, Minotaur Barbarian

Here is the first of the two minis I entered into the painting contest at gencon This was my first attempt at greenstuffing a base and I'm fairly happy with it. Unfortunately I failed to get all the mold lines off of this guy as I spotted the on the top of his axe too late. I also painted the other minotaur from the set but he didn't get quite finished in time. I'll likely post him soon as he is almost done. Of the two though I like this one the most. Still trying to figure out the best way to take pictures and this guy was being a real elf about it for some reason. Hopefully some of these look ok.

    Tengu Mage from Stonehaven

This was my Pathfinder Society character for the friday night Pahfinder special at Gencon He was a tengu Oracle named Mojie Blackfeathers. He seemd like he was photographing well but he was a deceptive little elfhole as tengu tend to be and just didn't want to make certain details that I was proud of stand out. I may attempt some better photos tomorrow. Still figuring out my lighting. Edit: Sorry uploader was being dumb.
  10. This is the other mini I entered in the Gencon painting contest. I was hoping to give his eyes a little bit of glow but I don't think I managed it. I was really running out of time with him. He did photograh well at least. He was much less of an elf than the minotaur.
  11. Did this guy in 45 minutes for the Thursday afternoon Speed Paint at Gen Con. No Idea who he is. Relatively happy with him. Though others at the table had more intersting paint jobs. My guy feels at least practical. Also did the Darsword one on friday but I can't for the life of me get her to photograph. I'll try again tomorrow. EDIT: Oh Snap! this is my 1000th post! Ok EJ, Be cool, be cool. Say something to the people. Um...It's been a great ride Good, good. Let's keep it moving. I hope to have something good for a title Yeah, this is good stuff. And I hope this will help everyone overlook the canniblism. Oh !^#@^*#*^%& and you still haven't fixed the Darksword typo. It's Darksword! Darksword, not Darsword. *Smacks himself*

    Fenryll Amazon I(b)

My first attempt at a resin mini. This is from Fenryll Miniatures in France. She's part of a set, but I haven't painted the others from that set yet. My skin tones appear to be dying as her skin looks a little bumpy up close in the pictures , still I'm happy with how she turned out, particularly with her face. I'll try and take a better picture of her face tomorrow. Resin is intersting to work with since it's so light wieght and you have to be careful not to snap off pieces. since there is not much flex or give. 60066: Mites

These were a quick paint job for my pathfinder game, then they sat around for a while not even glued to the base when I just decided to finish basing them since the weather was so nice and my dining room gets lots of sun. The mites themselves are a little slap dash, but i'm fairly happy with how the bases turned out. I stuck down some Howard hues paint that had dried to a putty like quality and then leveled it of to the top of the base's lip with a toothpick. I then etched it up with an exacto a bit and washed Golden micaceous Iron oxide over it (which has enough warnings on it that I'm sure buglips would find it delicious) then a wash of black. The whole team. Edit: Sorry about the lighting. I take pictures outside and the sun was very bright and I couldn't find a way to get rid of the shadows. :(
  14. She's been done for a little while now but now I'm finally posting her. This mini will be pulling double duty for me. First she'll be a centerpiece in My warlord Kargir force and then she'll menace my Pathfinder players as "Maw" Hooger, the fierce matriarch of a clan of ogres my players will soon be dealing with. Talanka front in snow 1 2 The first few were taken a few weeks ago when there was still snow. Wanted to see how the snow base looked against the real thing. Touched up nose Tried to touch up the nose a bit but messed up another part of her face. will have to fix that. I was fairly proud of the frog's belly here. Edit: linked to pictures from front due to wardrobe malfunction. Slightly embarrassed by the oversight. New edit: Updated tags and links

    Soda Pop Dark Space Fiamatta

I entered this mini in the painting contest at Gencon but now that I look at her again I'm less happy with how she turned out over all. She still looks fine on the table but I think I could have done better on the face. Questions comments and critiques are welcome.

    It Began in the Begining.

From the the Getting to know you better thread, here is the first mini I ever painted followed by the second and third attempts. The first is a Mage Knight Metal Goblin Grenadier. Painted at the Mage Knight Paint n take at Gencon some 14 years ago. They are all a little dusty from sitting on the shelf. After that I tried Mithril Miniatures LoTR Goblin King Then I tried to paint Reapers 02259: Orc Warrior Of Kargir by Sandra Garrity The last two did not turn out nearly as well as the first attempt likely do to using cheap plastic brushes (includind a Testors brush from a model car I had built) So I had very little ability to add detail. Also I had a much more limited selection of paints to use at home rather than at the paint n take at Gencon.
  17. :bday: Happy birthday, O terrifying harlequin. ... Dang. Anyone remember the code for the Cthulhu smiley? Anyhow, may it be full of Krunchy cereal ...
  18. I started this guy almost 10 years ago just putting base colors on him, but was never sure what else to do with him. Recently I saw him on a shelf and decided to finish him. Someday I hope to paint his blister brother and their big brother the greater wolf spider. I painted his eyes blue to try and make him look a little different. I'm not sure if it works or if it is even all that noticable. Hmmm. I'm seeing some places I need to touch up now and I think I need to do more with the fur on his face. now that I see it close up. maybe he's not finished yet. Criticisms and suggestions are appreciated.
  19. A Paint n Take mini I did at Rock Con last year He ended up representing my Pregen paladin for Pathfinder Society there.

    Small fire elemental

I'm kinda proud of this one. It's the small fire elemental from 77196: Familiars 2. This was my first attempt at fire effects and my first attempt at basing. I think both turned out pretty good.

Black orc squad bones and metal

My first post in the Show off subforum. This is my squad of black orcs. Most are from the Vampire box(77059: Orc Berserker, 77056: Orc Sniper, 77051: Orc Stalker, 77045: Orc Hunter, and 77042: Orc Marauder), but I have two metal ones (03489: Black Orc Warriors)as well. The eyes on the stalker ended up being a little wonkey and big and the faces of the bones orcs were a little hard to paint due to the softness of detail (except for the berserker, his face was still pretty solid) but I'm otherwise happy with how they all turned out. Their leaders and a few recruits are still being painted right now. Also these guys are my secend attempt at basing and my first attempt at snow affects on bases. I had some varying degrees of success with that.
