  1. Hello Everyone - We are launching our Kickstarter tonight, April 20, 2015. We hope you all can check it out! It will feature Misaki the Fire Girl, and more minatures will be unlocked along the way. Misaki turned out to be absolutely beautiful, and you can check out close up pics of her on our website. http://www.mkadventures.com/ Thanks for everyone's support! We have been working hard on this, and are ready with Production Metals in hand. Yes, the pictures of the painted Misaki on our website are from the Production Molds... Thanks!
  2. Another set of minis painted as a learning session for the girlfriend. Basing isn't done.:
  3. I recently posted a couple new projects and here is yet one more! As you can probably tell, I jump around a lot. When I get stuck on a figure instead of banging my head into the wall, I prefer to take a break and work on something else. I will get back to those other ones, don't worry! But, for now, here's what I'm spending my time on. This is a 54mm figure from Andrea's Warlord Saga line. It's an interesting figure, although I haven't seen many other people paint it. The figure is called Sorondil, Dragon Hunter. However, over the past day or so I've decided to change his setting to
  4. OK well it's time to try this again. Our last Kickstarter did not go the way we wanted it to, and we listened to out backers on why it did not work. We are now back at it again trying to get this off the gorund. This is a dream of ours and we are not going to stop till we get this thing on the gorund becasue we feel we have somethign very special here. So I want to reintroduce you to our Kickstarter MidKnight Heroes Season 0 Reboot! What is Reboot!? Reboot is where we went back to the drawing board and redesigned our idea. We changed for a set idea to a per miniature idea
  5. Orcs! Humans. They come. They breed. They rape the land. Steal its magic. The glaciers are moving. The world is growing colder. The sun is growing dim. They don't see it. But we do. As do the rest of the Elder Races. The Naiads, deep in the water. The Centaurs deep in their forests. The Trolls, in their caves. The Giants, high in their mountains. The Kobolds of the deserts, and the Goblins of the swamps. The Dwarves and Elves are retreating, leaving this world. We cannot, for we have no powerful magics. We are Orcs! We will stand and we will fight, when no others will. Others will come, as lo
  6. Eww, yuck. These guys would be terrible to encounter in a dungeon. The primary colors come from unthinned inks applied with a heavy hand so they start to pool. Highlights were painted with normal colors. I used yellow ink for the right-hand one, and a mix of blue and yellow for the left (I don't have green ink). The bottom side of each is painted white, which is why they are so brightly colored. Then as a final touch, hit with a heavy coat of Citadel 'ardcoat.
  7. ORCS! The settlement of Unity lays quiet below you. Asleep. Unsuspecting. The humans who lay there hold a relic, and have no idea that it is the key to saving this world. Instead, the humans just keep moving south, away from the growing ice. They just keep raping the land for its magic, crowding out the Elder Races. That ends now. Your warband moves silently down the hill in the dark. Creeping up to the fence that these humans call a wall is no challenge. There's hardly a sentry to be seen. Even if there was, their torches only shed so much light, and the shadows are yo
  8. With my wharf packed away securely to avoid any harm during the hectic moving period...I grabbed an hour here and there and built/constructed this little fellow that I call " Herby "! It/he will be the last piece to go on a fantasy vignette/diorama that I have been working on for another site. The piece contains these separate pieces/parts (head, stalk, snake vine, 3 large leaves/top, 3 large leaves/bottom, crawling ivy, moss clump/top)...selected from my varied basic parts boxes and put together for some nice visual looks/impact. Any feedback and comments will be greatly appreciat
  9. These are the fantasy miniature figures (28mm) that will be the (10 player) group for an upcoming table top RPG adventure game titled " The Tears & Sorrows of Oblivion ". They are painted to my table top game play quality and sealed with (3) coats of high gloss for heavy game play usage. Characters are: Valina Trax (Daedra Assassin in human form)...Shadow Veil (Altmer Wardancer)...Jar Corbin (Imperial Duelist/Bounty Killer)...Sister Sinn (Imperial Battle Nun/Healer)...Jean Fable (Imperial Elf Ranger/Pathfinder)...Max Von Dane (Imperial Necromancer & skeleton friend blade)...Nin
  10. In the near future, I will again be starting a (10 player/character) RPG game...titled " The Tears and Sorrows of Oblivion ". I hope that this initial prologue will set the visual scene for you...in my actual games...I use/provide the players with pictures/photos to give them an idea/feel for the area that they are in...the enclosed photos are what is/are provided to the players ! The game itself will be played on a table top...but the whole adventure map (provided to the players) is a small (10 by 10 hex) game map = 100 hexes...each hex is (1) full adventure day. The adventure map con
  11. After many many years of being a (GM/DM) for RPG adventure groups (with some great groups and wonderful memories)...I retired as an active (DM) last November, thinking that it was time for younger brains and blood to tell the stories and weave the fantasies for avid fantasy players! Since my retirement...I have been besieged by former past players and the new friends they have made...to come out of retirement and conduct at least one more RPG adventure story and fantasy game! Well...I am back in the fold!...After our apartment move is completed and things are back to normal...I have ag
  12. PROJECT...Fantasy vignette...titled (You Can't Get Me Gold)! This is a small fantasy vignette (6" x 6")...scratch built for another site and is my interpretation of the given title (Giant Flora & Fungi) containing a monster plant! Any and all comments and feedback will be greatly appreciated! Paul (Catdancer)
  13. Great miniature for my undead army.
  14. The title says all. Just wondering if anyone had anything interesting. I would post one of my own story ideas, but then I'll find out years later that it was plagarized and is being turned into a movie. It's happened to me before, I'm not being paranoid.
  15. PROJECTS FOR 2015...I don't paint anywhere as many miniature figures as 95% of you other members do...but I want to finish painting the above pictured miniatures in 2015...Pictured are; Photo 1...The vampire/monster hunting party of the town of Covasna, Transylvania. Photo 2...Two-headed ogre with female victim...will be done on a (KING KONG) type of rock face plateau setting. Photo 3...My (Bruise Brothers) ogre pair. Photo 4...Finish my Black Orc hunter/killer war band. Other projects... 1. Tavern front vignette with strumpet and gentleman. 2. French bordello balco
  16. Happiest of New Years to you all (if you're into that sort of thing)! With the holidays behind me I hope to get back on track with more frequent posts. Here are three completed models from the Dwarf King's Court set to start off the new year. I was more than a little bit happy to receive that ancient (1982 is pretty venerable if you are 1" tall and made of lead) Citadel Miniatures boxed set for Christmas. My wife scored major points with that one! I have been plugging away at them since tearing the wrapping off, and have finished three so far. They are King Dumin Ironbeard, his bodyg
  17. Orcs are unattractive you say? Well just imagine Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy. Bam! Attractive female orc.
  18. Recently I was hired to paint another ten Circle Orboros Griffon models for a gentleman from Las Vegas. He already owns two that I painted last year, but he wanted to be able to field a veritable army of birdmen in his AD&D game. Here is the first of the batch.
  19. Hello, this is my first post to the forum. I painted this Bones Ezren, Iconic Wizard a month or so ago, and thought you might like to see how he came out. I'm pretty happy with the result, particularly the weapon swap. The staff was pretty bent and I was having little success in getting it to remain straight, so I decided to swap it outright for a sword. Questions and comments are welcome.
  20. I'm taking part in a paint along over at CMON. The figure is from an independent sculptor, Olivier Bouchet. It's a 54mm fantasy figure titled Gokan, the Guardian, but as someone pointed out it has a striking resemblance to the comic character Slaine. So that's how I'm painting him. If anyone is interested, the paint along just started. Most people are just receiving the figures and only a few have started to paint. There's still plenty of time to join in. Here's the link to the thread http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?58625-Gokan-group-painting-competition And
  21. I'm more than a little bit pleased about my latest acquisition, a box of Perry Miniatures War of the Roses Infantry. These guys are true 28mm scale, but will fit right in with most other 28mm model, even the big-head/big-hand Games Workshop "heroics." I've only had time to assemble and paint two of them. Let me know what you think! Questions and comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking (I was going to do a traditional smile face, but this one was too cool to pass up).
  22. Hey all, I mentioned in a previous thread that I had been working on a Dwarf Treasure Hunters warband for the Mordheim game. Here are the pictures that I have so far. These are all Games Workshop or Marauder Miniatures. Questions and comments are always welcome. Thanks for taking the time to look!
  23. Hey all, just a quick picture of an Imperial Dwarf from the early days of Warhammer Fantasy. He is pulling duty as the Noble for my Mordheim Dwarf Treasure Hunters these days. His color scheme set the stage for the entire warband (which I can post another time if there is interest). Questions and comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking!
  24. Hey all, my friends and I have been bitten by the Mordheim bug again as of late. For those of you who don't know, Mordheim is a long-abandoned skirmish-level war game by Games Workshop. Bands of explorers, adventurers, and miscreants comb through the ruined city of Mordheim in search of Wyrdstone (radioactive meteorite chunks). One of the best things about this game is that you only need eight to ten models for your warband. That allows for some fantastic converting and modeling opportunities. This fellow is a goblin a pieced together from a variety of GW kits. I hope you like him. C
  25. I had one of these guys already fully painted, but I was waiting until I had a unit to post in Show Off. What we have here is an Army Painter bone colour spray primer, blocked in colour for clothing, armour and weapons, a quickshade ink wash, a drybrush all over with Reaper Polished Bone, ink washes to bring the colours back up, reapplication of metallics and finally painting the eyes blue and basing. Pretty easy and fast, so I'm confident that I'll be able to crank a bunch of these out and have a couple of hordes in no time - once this spring weather decides to stay fine for more th
