  1. I'm slowly working through all my minis up on corks. This one is a hero character fig from the third Star Hat Miniatures kickstarter. I guess I’m happy enough at how its come out at least as far as I just do simple paint jobs to tabletop. The fig is metal and had an intrinsic base that I extended out with some poorly applied greenstuff, and made the skull at the same time. Critiques welcome
  2. Thank you everyone! :-) Some new colors!! I'm trying different things :D What do you guys think ?
  3. Hello, this time I wanted to share painted miniature, after almost 10 years i got back to painting :D I hope you like it!
  4. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/831472366/corvus-corax-miniatures-onwards?ref=hero_thanks Corvus Corax Miniatures is a small hobby project created in 2013. Since then, I have had three projects successfully funded on Kickstarter and all have been fully delivered on time without any delays. The feedback from the backers have only been positive. The Funding Goal is for 50,000 SEK (Swedish Crown) which equals aprox. $5,700, €4,800 or £4,300 (exchange rates may vary, please check your current ones). The goal of this project is to attempt to raise funds for the production of totally 12 miniatures; six for the Clansmen of Caer Loch and six for the Sons of Yetl Black. The miniatures will be cast in high quality, non-toxic, resin. The scale of the miniatures are 35 mm (measuring to the eyes in a standing, straight pose, although some characters can be slightly larger because they are supposed to be large characters). The miniatures have already been sculpted and pre-production resin casts have been completed and approved for final production if the funding is reached. A successful project here will help me be able to pay for the resin casting, and it will help me to kickstart the miniature range and expand it even further! you can also pick up stuff from the previous project size/scale comparisons Typically, the estimated shipping cost break down as following (however, note that this is a rough estimation, and that the shipping cost will be based on the weight of each package, which might differ depending on which miniatures and how many you choose to select). The following is only ESTIMATED and does not mean that it is final. •1-4 miniatures: €5 •5-12 miniatures: €10 •13+ miniatures: €15 This does NOT include tracking. If you want to include tracking (recommended letter) that will cost an extra €10 in addition to the shipping cost (for example, the estimated shipping cost for 12 miniatures with tracking would end up at €20). The insurance for recommended letter is at max value of 2,000 SEK. I've backed and got the minis from all of the previous project and have been delighted with them
  5. I love this figure. Not so much the bendy weapons, but I straightened them out. They have bent back a little (Sword). I did a WIP on him. Thanks for the encouragement along the way. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/80720-kord-the-destroyer-bones/ He is another for our Reign of Winter Adventure Path. My DM said "Vikings." Kord has that vibe for sure. I tried to paint the base like grass. The hardest part was the nmm on the axe, and trying to get the runes to show up on the sword. It's a very irregular axe shape, so it was tough to figure out how to do it. My green stuff patch job on the wolf pelt was not the greatest, but it is decent enough camouflage. The second-hardest part of the figure to me was figuring out what parts of the pelt were what. What is tail? What are legs? I did my best. Overall, I'm pleased with him. He seems like such a bad-a$$. As for the pics, iPhone seems to be good for far away, but really "blobby" for up close. Maybe it is suffering from zoom. C&C Welcome.
  6. I was asked to create a chess set using fantasy figs, and here are some of the figs I used from Reaper. It was fun but 32 figures is a lot of work! Let me know what you think. Used 60022: Karzoug, Runelord of Greed , 02582: Queen of High Elves, 02525: Murkillor, Wraith King , 60075: King Castruccio Irovetti , 89013: Ezren, Iconic Wizard, 77496: Eilluvasheth, Succubus Queen
  7. This is the unlocked class with the Sun icon. If you do not want spoilers stop reading now. --------------------------------------------- I was wanting some c&c, if I could get it, on several areas. The mouth and the base are the main ones, so if anyone has any critique for those that would be helpful. I'm also thinking of highlighting the gold armor a bit more, any thoughts?
  8. Before I moved I was working on a RPG campaign concept that I have not been able to get off the ground since I moved so thought I'd kick the idea around here in the off chance it might start a fire with someone else ... So the game starts in an alternate reality with the gaming group stating them selves out as starting players, not 100% accurate but an alternate reality version of himself that fits into a starting player profile for whatever game system you like to use ... Once stated out the players will get together for game night, in the alternate reality version of where your group gets to get her to play ... you get the idea, your playing a alternate reality version of you, but this alternate reality gets interrupted by an mini zombie apocalypse, a freak storm and weird lightning bolts that turn people into zombies ... Being game nerds your group react accordingly and start putting down the zombies and figuring out what's going on ... a great opportunity to have some fun with the local peeps ... the players lern that the trouble is ruminating from a mysterious tower that appeared out of nowhere at a local golf course / sports field / etc large open spot ... the players gear up and do what players do, poke their nose in to fine a much queen rounding up zombie slaves to take back home with her ... Only once the players take the evil much queen out do they discover her life sustained the tower in this plain, at the moment she died the tower and all inside return to her plane of origin ... the fantasy world of ... The players and whatever firepower they have ammased now find themselves in a new world full of new challenges ... filled with your favorite minis of course ... they will have to find and ally with some locals to eat/learn to survive in their strange new world ... As the year rolls round one customer seems to stand out more and more, the clan / tribe / town your players allied with are obsessed with collecting the skulls of their enimie race works/ lizard folk / whatever you have handy ... they must collect s quota for their gods before they return and time is running out ... the players must prove their worth and bag some skulls soon. On the appointed time they come ... your allies see their gods descending in a chariot of fire ... your group see a drop ship with a party of powered armored warriors here to collect a pile of skulls and thank the locals for keeping the hostile race numbers down with a few thank you trinkets. The warriors from space are sure to see you are different and take you with them to the stars ... and so begins the 3rd phasebofbthe game, space, the next frontier... Start with zombie apocalypse, take you time ... Shift to fantasy (magic = psychics) take more time ... Shift to science fiction with alien vertions of the fantasy world ... all agreed to a wager over the planet, most skulls wins or something like that but limited to primitive tech only ... on the planet ... some argue the players are cgeaterd but thay have seen things wail on the planet that exsposes others as cheats ... thing go from bad to worse ... in just the way a GM can get some mileage out of ...
  9. After ~6 months of not being able to work on projects, I present my first finished project of 2018- an ancient skeleton horde! The goals of the project were to: (1) Start out with a bang in my goal to paint 52 minis this year (2) Add a good deal more skeletons for horde encounters in an upcoming tabletop RPG I am running (3) Get more practice with OSL in a setting that allowed me to try multiple techniques on similar models quickly (eyes) (4) Try my hand at verdigris, again trying multiple techniques to see what I like best (5) Try out doing weapons/armor chipping and weathering. Happy to say all 5 goals were met (just took a long time)! This was a tabletop-level project, so while they aren't perfect, they are "good enough". Please let me know what you think- I relish C&C as it is a critical step in making me a better painter. I also have a question: I need to seal these guys. I want to use a matte sealer for the skeletons themselves (you can see the gloss from where I used quickshade), but I don't want to dull the metals on the arms and armor. What matte brush on sealers does everyone prefer? Thanks for looking!

My favorite mini shown is the fairy archer which seems to not be in any pledge level or addon?
  11. Not specific to any particular campaign or RPG - just a place for folks to share adventure seeds for urban fantasy campaigns, since it came up on another thread. [Dark] The players are hired by a necromancer to learn who murdered one of his corpses. She was engaged to be wed the day before he purchased her remains, and is not happy about being dead.... [Humorous] The Goblin bard and his band has cast Irresistible dance, and to the players' horror... it is a polka. The Auld Grump
  12. This past weekend I started painting Brom, the 54mm scale dwarf from Enigma. The sculpt has got a mix of equipment and, to be honest, I'm not even sure what all of it is. It gives him a lot of character, but presents some challenges with the painting. I've been putting a lot of thought into how I want to approach the piece and finally decided to pick a color scheme and let that tie the figure together. I started with the face. Considering most of it is hidden by the hair, the beard feels almost as important as the rest of the face. I used a mix of Reaper's Ruddy Leather, Secret Weapon's Orange Rust, and Reaper's Burnt Orange and Fair Skin Highlight. I find the light skin tones are nice for highlighting hair, I'd do the same with brown hair. For the blood stained cloth on his head, I used a mix of Carnage Red and Walnut Brown. I wanted it to be darker near the center, so more brown, and the moving to pure red near the boundaries. I applied the red as a glaze over the white cloth to give it the right look. Instead of using the well palette that I'd normally turn to for glazes, I ended up mixing them directly on my wet palette. Normally that produces a mess, but I used a bit of paint and then added a bunch of matte medium (plus a little water). The matte medium is thick, so it creates the right transparency without causing the glaze to flow all over the palette. Then I then it down slightly with water for a consistency that's easier to paint with. The effect is the same as a regular glaze, but since it's on the wet palette it's easier for me to mix paints and create different colored glazes. It's also easy to vary the consistency/transparency by changing up the ratio of matte medium and paint. So I can quickly make a section more opaque and another more transparent. Not something I do for all glazes, for in situations like this it's a nice option to have in my tool kit. And here's the full figure. Still a lot left to paint!
  13. So taken a few pic of this guy as I was painting him, started out priming black airbrush pre shading white, then painted the whole thing in brown before changing my mind and going this direction. That was the shadows and blending, then I did some yellow highlights on the back and mane, and detail on the face. Not sure if I'm done, maybe a bit more blending on the stomach, I think it's showing a bit too much blue.
  14. Started on these this week, thought I'd throw them up before I went to bed. C&C always appreciated, especially on the antelope, I'm having a hard time think what I could do to improve it, but I think it was too easy to get it looking that good. Underside of the antelope is still a wip, BIGTIME, I've barely started on it. I mean the gorey sinewy muscle for the tips to make better. KDM story spoilers ahead...
  15. Started assembling this guy, the horn got glued on wrong so I had to separate it and reposition. Still going to greenstuff the gaps but got these pics to check the positioning of the horn.
  16. Survivor Zachary, assembled, green stuff'd, primed in white, base flesh tone and hair, and skin wash. Working on the eyes now, he's not supposed to look like batman.
  17. Finished Spellweaver from Gloomhaven for a comission. First attempt at OSL, and first bona fide 28mm eye job. C&C welcomed.
  18. Here is a miniature i am working on. My plan is to paint it like a queen from a playing card. I am thinking of calling it a queen snake. buckyball
  19. Working on the base for this guy, thought I'd put it up. Put sand down and then painted over it black, trying to make it look like a river of lava (DON'T ASK WHY THEMING-WISE, IT JUST SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME.) Still planning on messing with it, running some red and darker shades through the yellow and maybe some red cracks through the black.
  20. Finished this one today, pretty happy with how it turned out. Got to try out some iridescent medium for the hair think it really made it pop.
  21. This is a Mithril M69 Silvan Seer I painted up as an elven necromancer character. buckyball
  22. Experimenting with some new transparent paints I got to produce a lighting effect, think it turned out pretty well. I'm probably going to have to go over it to get the base colors and I'm not sure I'll be able to make it look this good again, so thought I should get a couple photos.
  23. Finished this guy today, detail commission. Had a bit of trouble with the lava heart but after 6 attempts or so got it looking not totally crappy. WIP Here
  24. Inox Brute, commission. First time basing with faux grass.
