  1. So, I got this lovely in the swag bag - spoilered, because kind of large image. At least, when I finally post this, it will be spoilered. As suggested in the acquisitions thread, I'mma post a picture. ^^; All I know is that it's female, it's carrying what looks like a staff, and it looks like she has the comedy/tragedy masks hanging from her belt. It may not be fantasy, but ... I'm at a loss here. Can't find her on their website, and I looked. :/ If I posted it in the wrong section, feel free to move it. ^^; Much thanks, I appreciate any help.
  2. Picked this up on E-Bay because she fits an NPC in my game. Photography is not one of my strong points. I did her base with static grass and a skull on the ground in front of her (not in the pic). I thought the skin came out nice.
  3. The Spirit of Spring. I realized I didn't have anything painted up specifically for ReaperCon, and decided to get something worked up. Last time I entered, I got the certificate of participation. This time, I'm hoping to place bronze. I'm not stressing it too much, though. If I don't make it, I'll just ask why and keep trying.
  4. I have located my camera! But, no lightbox, so the lighting is fairly harsh. Anyway, after packing up for the move, moving, unpacking, and then kinda sorta finding a place to paint I decided to get back into the swing of things with a quick tabletop mini. I was wanting to take another shot at the bronze skin triad, but I'm about out of minis that show a lot of skin. Fortunately I still had one half naked barbarian left from the kickstarter. Here are a couple I can post And here are a couple you'll need to follow the links. I have to say, this is the worst I've done on a face in quite a while but I just wasn't interested in smoothing things out and redoing the eyes. My copy had a "Bones nose" but I assume in metal there is more definition. 1 2
  5. I picked up 2608: Tyden at a paint-n-take, this is what my painting looks like when I don't have glasses: So I repainted her. I also found 2773 Tana in my box of figures, and thought this would be a good companion piece. Front view NSFW
  6. This is one of a pot-luck batch of modern adventurer women figures I got from RAFM, a real mixed bag. Some of them are terrific, some ... kind of goofy. This one seems to fall a bit closer to the goofy end. She is in a pose my martial arts friend called "Kill Me Now", and her face is rather unfortunately flattened front-to-back. I figured I'd paint her up quickly tabletop style for use as a mook or opponent. I did get a little bored painting her just plain, though, so I gave her Goth-Egyptian makeup.
  7. I don't know anything about the character but she looks like a junk yard dog type Orc from a more modern time. I added some gore chunks to the chainsaw. Hope you like it. ;)
  8. Apologies in advance for the poor pictures, still really struggling when it comes to photographing the larger stuff. Any how, presenting my first attempt at painting a bust, Darkswords Portrait of a Tiefling:- You can find a WIP thread for her here. Don't think she looks too bad, but I'm not sure if I'll get any more busts in the future though, I don't really have the patience or skill to paint this larger scale stuff. As always, any comments of criticisms are greatly appreciated..
  9. Special Edition miniature (ReaperCon 2015), sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I was honestly not a huge fan of the sculpt, but I felt like it would be a good fit for what my partner wanted. There are lots of wavy cloth bits to paint, which are always fun. In the end, I was actually kind of sad to let her go, and I might have to reuse this color scheme in the future. The base of the blue is MSP Bones HD Tropical Blue, and the green is PP Poison Green up to MSP Moth Green. Originally painted for the Summer Miniature Exchange, but my partner disappeared and I never heard whether she arrived.
  10. Getting this prepped and started for ReaperCon! She'll be my Kabuki manufacturer's contest entry.
  11. This one was finished back in May but I was not able to take pictures until recently. I loved painting her and playing with colors and contrast.
  12. A project mostly done just to get painting, so it's far from perfect and I didn't take time to blend it out at all. Focus was on playing with some OSL and then I decided to try sculpting a base, so this is a huge step forward despite the lack of blending on it. Unfortunately, I used some liners to give character to the stone and haven't sealed the mini, so it's pretty shiny along the walls and you can't see any of the subtlety there. I'll hit it with dullcote and see if I can get better pics and update this post later, if so. And though my intention was to not blend, I /may/ go back and do just a minor blend pass on the blue OSL highlight on the wall because that's bugging me :) Hope you enjoy! WIP here
  13. This is the figure Dynamic Tiriel from Hasslefree Miniatures. I grabbed this and gave it a quick paint job as I needed a “win†after my struggles with Narthrax (http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69994-narthrax-reaper-bones/). Since she’s mostly metal it didn’t take long to paint her up.
  14. I had a the fortunate opportunity to paint a piece for Teskeria. I began the project with a concept of a shifter type character, a werecat. Searching through Reapers catalog of minis, I came upon this one. It clicked. And so, Thirysia was born. I had a lot of fun painting these two. I can not, however, take credit for the basing idea. During the Spring Mini Exchange, I received a ranger/wolf combo from Guildenstern that was done similarly. I liked the idea so much, that I used it for this one. I felt it fit too well not to. Thiryrsia was once a respected and noted ranger among the Shadowvale Elves, but a chance encounter would forever change her. Seeing her as cursed, she was cast out of the community, and left to fend for herself. Over time, she learned to control her shifting, and is no longer bound by cycles. With her Redmane companion, Xythis, she stalks the Shadowvale Forest as its most feared and fearsome protector. Here she is, Thirysia, Redmane Werecat, and Xythis her Redmane companion. (Note, the Redmane's are an elven hunting cat I use in my homebrew campaign.) CAH
  15. So I thought rationally and decided to use rosy flesh (what I usually use for human females) and mint green (which I would probably use for a female Orc) and mixed them together for her skin tone. I had no idea how to glue that shield on. Anyone who has this mini probably knows what I mean.
  16. Managed to sneak in a bit more painting When Adowyn was first shown off pre release, I knew I had to have her, and conviniently, one of my friends wanted a 28mm wolf, so we split the blister between us I opted for mostly natural and earthy tones, with a splash of colour in the form of her brighter hair, and the blue streak of warpaint on her cheek. I think the hardest thing was making all the brown tones seperate, but also work together well . Really, really happy with her though
  17. So finally got these two finished, the two females first, and now I've got the two males pending to finish. One thing I'm a bit miffed at was that I didn't plan the grass well, so you actually can't see her delightfully painted toenails. Oh well, next time.....
  18. Made a coven throne from the start collecting set. Now it just needs basing.: WIP pics:
  19. At the rate I'm painting, I might just have enough Infinity minis painted to play a game early next year. Today I present my latest tabletop Nomad. While I used the same paints on her as the previous one, the red highlights are wider and she doesn't appear as dark as her male counterpart. And a shot of the homemade base, similar style as the previous one.
  20. When I asked my girlfriend witch mini to paint she choose Ostarzha. It is a very elegant sculpt and a joy to paint. I tried a to paint it very light, almost pastel colors. The combination of colors I am very happy with. The wall is carved out of styrodur foam. A new technique for me. The foam is lightweight and easy to shape but a bit fragile. Also, don't use spray primer on it.. It melts.. This is also the first mini I have done with snow. I like the effect, but the snow is a bit difficult to control where it settles. The snow I used is from Krycell and is a powder. You first spray the base with sealer or lacquer and then sprinkle the snow on top. It worked better on the back of the wall then the front. The sphere in the picture is just temporary, I still have to make a stand for it. This is the base without the snow.
  21. A couple of figures painted during the July paint binges and challenges. 77132: Barnabus Frost A female swashbuckler from the German company Assassin
  22. Hi! A quick simple paint job on a really beautifully sculpt mini. Hope you guys like it. As usual any feedback and critiques are very welcome.
  23. The Gray Maiden from Reaper's Pathfinder line. I've had this semipainted for a couple of years now, and I've finally decided to try and finish it. It was a rather quick job. I wish I had more precision to paint the straps on her arm and leg.
  24. Dagmar of the Shield of Red Box Games. A miniature I painted a few months ago but forgot to post.
