  1. Hello All, Here are photos of a 03149 "Justine, Undead Hunter" I completed a few weeks ago. Thank you for looking.
  2. Hello All, Here are photos of a 02924 "Bertok, Human Barbarian" I completed recently. Thank you for looking.
  3. Hello All, Here are photos of a 03931 Dark Heaven Legends "Alena Frostblade, Human Female Barbarian" I completed recently. Thank you for looking.
  4. Good evening my Reaperlangarians! So it feels like I haven't been too productive this year, got kind of stuck on painting Lord Soth, which seemed to take longer than it should have, but now that he's painted up, it's onwards to other little projects. These two I actually finished last weekend, but I always take pictures with sunny weather, but it's been cloudy all week long until today. The only time it was sunny was last Sunday when I got up, went grocery shopping really quickly to Aldis and when I got home, saw the sun. I went into the shower really quickly to clean up and then I was going to take pictures of these ladies, but by the time I got out and dried off it was cloudy again. So anyhoos, pictures finally taken and here they are, the first is a Female Dwarven Warrior, not too sure who sculpted her: and the next one is Kylie Darkwalker, a Wild Elf Thief, sculptor also unknown: I like both figures, both pretty fun. I like them especially because they are Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals figures, but I think sculpted much later in the company's history. I'm guessing latter nineties, but no way to be sure without asking. I'm a bit puzzled by my choice of colors for the elf. I figured wild elf, and though kind of woodsy elf, with brown skin (base code was Reaper's shield brown), and her top is green, but then she has those funky purple pants. She kind of reminds me if I harken back to the days of an old Olivia Newton John video, Let's Get Physical, or something like that where she has a green top and I think pinky/purply spandex pants. I actually just went to look at a picture and my memory was a bit faulty, it was a bright blue top and pink sweatpants. In any case, hope these provide moments of visual pleasure and simulation, until the next chunk of minis!
  5. Thought this would be a good figure to practice non metallic metal on. There are a lot of surfaces with different angles to work out the light and shadow. Not as happy with the shadows on the cloak, I think I picked the wrong reds.
  6. Since I wasn't on here in 2021/2022... I wanted to post some of my favorite NMM minis. I took Almaran with me to ReaperCon last year- he ended up not being the one judged, but that's OK- I took him for some good ol' fashioned critique afterwards. And yeah, 2023 is going to be the year of "make an attempt with your bases, you dork".
  7. One of many figures I painted this year, but haven't posted in show-off. I picked this up at Reapercon. She's surprisingly light on details, compared to many Reaper figures.
  8. I think he's my favorite of this whole set. He could pass for a heroic fighter in a pinch, but this guy seems to scream "shady thug/mercenary" through and through. As you can see in the side-by-side pic with an unpainted example, the detail on the cape was originally...lacking (it looked like he had a boogie board strapped to his back). I can work with LOW detail, but this cape had NO detail. So, I ended up making a custom cape and was much happier with how it looked. And that's it for the original set of Wildspire townsfolk. Thanks for endulging me during this trip down memory lane. They did do a later version of this set that added about 11 more figures ( kind of a "set 1.5," I guess). I've got that one, so I'll be painting the newer guys at some point.
  9. This guy's about as generic as they get, but he reminded me of the classic Dark Tower game piece figures (so I instantly became a fan of him). His head is waaaay too small, though. For his color scheme, I was inspired by Dirk the Daring from Dragon's Lair (the freehand design on the shield is meant to be kind of an abstract representation of Dirk's backpack, since this mini didn't have a pack of his own).
  10. Hello All, Here is a 02370 metal Dark Heaven Legends "Luther Baldwin, Templar Knight" I completed yesterday. Thank you for looking.
  11. Hello All, Here is a metal 03681 Dark Heaven Legends "Nazera Bloodraven, Vampire" miniature I completed last January. Thank you for looking.
  12. Hello All, Here is a Bones Plastic 77467 "Rheagar, Male Fighter" miniature I completed last January. When I first started on this miniature it reminded me of a character from a certain 80's animated series that I enjoyed. I think it was the armor and shield that gave me that impression. So, I decided to paint it to match this character. My thought was that this is that character all grown up and having returned to the Realm. But after painting it, the face and hair reminded me more of two actors. Shemp from the 3 Stooges and Jon Bernthal from The Walking Dead and Punisher series. Thank you for looking.
  13. Hello All, Here is a Bones plastic 77736 "Ankoa, Barbarian Hero" I completed last January. Thank you for looking.
  14. Hello All, Here is a 04084 metal Dark Heaven Legends "Mellonir Windrunner, Elf Ranger/Fighter" I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  15. The body is from a tehnolog roman and the arms, head and shield are from an oathmark dwarf infantry sprue! It was a very fun kitbash and a qucik paintjob 🙂 Thanks for looking!
  16. Hello All, I completed this 77074 Dain Deepaxe, Dwarf Fighter miniature yesterday. It is the plastic Bones version. Thank you for looking.
  17. Hello All, Here is one of my recent works. 89032 Pathfinder Bones "Anti Paladin" I wanted it to look like the shield was a living thing or a possessed item. Thank you for looking.
  18. A long time ago, I painted up a model of Barros & Tempest (DHL #3096). Unfortunately, this is now one of my missing minis. It is located somewhere in my parent's place, but where exactly, no one knows... All that I have left are these pictures from an old computer. But I really like this model, so I ordered a new one and painted it up with a different rider and a horse of a different colour. Their barding matches, just incase the original is ever found. Here is the missing Barros & Tempest. Please forgive the bad photography skills, I took these photos on a freezer with a piece of paper behind them in place of a real box. I used a pin and green attach Tempest (I'm assuming that is the name of the Pegasus) to the stand. It didn't hold up well, and it looks like they are coming in for a landing or to smite someone. And here is my new version of Barros & Tempest. This model is hard to photograph because there are so many cool sculpted features going all the way around the model. I love the movement of these sculptures. They work really well together.
  19. Another one from August. From the Greek Odyssey expansion in B5. She has just enough detail to be interesting without being overwhelming to paint. Wish the casting had been a little sharper. I had to outline a lot to make things stand out.
  20. One of last year's limited release figures that I painted during the summer. She has the right amount of detail, I spent some time trying to do NMM on her armor and weapon. Felt that the pose was a bit dull and static, and her face is odd. Liked how the green part of her cloak came out, not so happy with the yellow, need to practice more,
  21. Slowly working through the horde of plastic. These guys are about the most boring things ever. I freely admit to crappy basecoat, drybrush, and wash techniques to get these done as quickly as possible. Enjoy: I even got crappy photos.
  22. I just finished painting this figure yesterday. It's from the old Grenadier boxed set 'Fighting Men' #2005. Not really a whole lot to say about him, I spent about 3 hours painting him to a good tabletop level. I got a little burned out on painting for a while, feeling like I had to paint everything to a competition level. Well, sometimes it's just fun to slap some paint on a figure in a few hours just to take your mind off of other things. I had just forgotten that somewhere along the way. Anyhow, here he is, let me know what you think.
  23. This was a fun and easy paint job. He comes with a variety of arms and weapon options so you can customize the figure. (and the extra arms are nice for conversions)
  24. This is Sonya, the Maine Coon fighter from the Cats & Catacombs boxed set. I received and started painting several of the figures almost exactly one year ago, and then got into a severe funk because of COVID shutdowns. Recently I was able to pick this up and get back into it. Hoping to get to a few of the others this spring. And the base lettering was done with a waterslide transfer.
  25. This is a relatively recent paint job and I struggled with colors for a while before taking inspiration from another model and strengthening the contrast in places. I like the model but she feels very stiff and doll-like. Or maybe she doesn't like the light in her eyes: Fiddled around with some freehand on the back:
