  1. I usually play with all the models I paint and these are no exception. These are my Brewster Buffalo US Navy fighters painted up in the colors and markings of Marine squadron VMF-221. The famous squadron at Midway that rushed into the Japanies forces in the begining of the fight knowing that they had crap aircraft and inferior training. Unfortunatly most of them died but their deeds will live on forever. I painted them up for use in Blood Red Skies. Like the real planes, they are also crap in the game but I just had to jump at the opportunity to do my little tribute to them.
  2. Hello my little Rearperlificos! so tonight just got finished up and photographed, a male and female fighter in plate armor, sculpted by the enigmatic Jim Johnson (one of those sculptors I know nothing about but has had a hugely prolific career) that he sculpted I think back in the nineties when he did a range of figures for Partha, which were a male and a female version of the same character class. I've already painted up a bunch of these different figures, and these are my most recent ones. I wanted to do red as their breastplates, helmets and grieves with more bronze tones than gold, after seeing Anne Forester working on bronzes in Twitch with the Kickstarter V Centaur. I'n not ver happy how the vertical bronze strip came out on the male fighter, but buh, too lazy to really keep fixing to perfection. Also, this is the second time I took pictures of these figures because there was lots of crud, dust and hair on the figures the first time. I went back and rephotographed them a second time and I still see a few little dust spots even though I knocked a bunch of them off. Anyhoos, here they are for your viewing pleasure: the female: The male: and being they were originally sold in a blister pack together, here they are in the same photo: I would usually put them on bases but the gal has a wide base that is a little too big to fit on the one inch base, and I didn't have a slightly larger base sitting around so I just sealed them really good and am going to leave them like that. In any case they just sit in a display case, a display case in my unfinished basement that nobody except myself ever sees, oh the humanity......
  3. Having recently started a pathfinder campaign I needed some miniatures suitable to use as Bandits or town guardsmen. After looking for a bit, I settled on the Bones Black Maggotcrown Men At Arms. Unfortunately, when they arrived, having ordered them from eBay, the spearman's weapon was mis-moulded, so I had to replace it with the spear from an old GW high elf. C&C's are more than welcome, hope people like my take!
  4. Hi guys, continuing my journey in painting :) This time , wizkids again, human male fighters. I got a bit of a hard time with those. super small but lot of tiny details xd, also male the mistake to not prime them and I should have made them black or at least zenhital stuff anyway. last I have just realize that when coating the base some paint get on one of the sword haha..well , will improve for next one !
  5. Finally got to do some work on the Duergar that went with the clockwork Golem. Not a whole bunch done, 3 layers on their skin, plus their eyes. They are all Bald As Eggs! so doing their heads is turning into an experience... I am using Scale 75 Brown Gray, Rainy Gray, and Thar Brown as my colors, all from the Black & White set. The Female cleric seems to have plucked her eyebrows as well... The Sergeant has both eyebrows and a braided beard The 2 grunts also have eyebrows and beards... The old AD&D books say Duergar have light to medium grey skin, and medium to dark hair, so after some more glazes on their heads to smooth things out a bit more, the hair will get done! Comments and Ideas welcome 8) George all they need are brow ridges and they could be Kilingons!
  6. The Draugr from Red Box Games. I absolutely love these figures! I used this tutorial for the skin and I can't help to be somewhat befuddled with how many different hues I still managed... I'm really pleased with the result. If I was to change anything it would be to stain the clothing.
