These were painted in several sessions. I would call this low tabletop quality, taking around 2-2.5 hours each figure. I really wanted some 28mm Fimir to paint and to use for Heroquest and/or D&D (Pathfinder) as a new monster that my players will not have heard of (my group has never played Warhammer... or messed with the model ranges). One group was converted using Games Workshop Ork and Goblin pieces, as well as a Bombshell Miniatures axe. I'm happy with them all and I'm happy to say the converted ones (the standard bearer) was the most frightening conversion I've ever done, it was a weapon swap drilling out the hand, which I've never done and I feel I succeeded nicely. This is a fimir from Forgeworld. I bought a couple for use with the Hero Quest game (I play with my brothers kids). It was the game which got me hooked on the hobby as well back in the day, so the nostalgia vibes are high. ^^ Thought I'd post it here, too. As there was a discussion about painting with washes/glazes, and this miniature is painted that way. Based white, then hit with washes until the correct darkness levels were achieved: Here it was in progress: This is a new photo. It's seen a lot of use on the tabletop since the time it was painted early last year, and shows some flaking here and there:

Here are a couple of minis I did this afternoon I attempted a speed paint, so I only allowed myself 40 minutes per figure because I'm hoping to improve my time/mini in preparation for the mini-ganza I'll be doing in March! I also tried out doing some NMM on the weapons and a bit on the armor of the Chaos Knight. I feel like I did alright for a quickie, especially the Fimir. The Chaos Knight took longer than I was aiming for because of the NMM attempts, and finding out too late that red NMM is only red and gray/black, and not white for highlights. I am a fool! Also, I dipped the knight because I thought the glossy look worked for his armored self, but not so much for the lizardy Fimir. ETA: Okay, the Fimir is now dipped, and dullcoted. I also added an iris to his eye, touched up a few places, and put in some faint highlights on his head, shoulders, thighs and forearms. Oh, and I painted his nails, so he can be beautiful for the boys!
