  1. A long time ago, I painted up a model of Barros & Tempest (DHL #3096). Unfortunately, this is now one of my missing minis. It is located somewhere in my parent's place, but where exactly, no one knows... All that I have left are these pictures from an old computer. But I really like this model, so I ordered a new one and painted it up with a different rider and a horse of a different colour. Their barding matches, just incase the original is ever found. Here is the missing Barros & Tempest. Please forgive the bad photography skills, I took these photos on a freezer with a piece of paper behind them in place of a real box. I used a pin and green attach Tempest (I'm assuming that is the name of the Pegasus) to the stand. It didn't hold up well, and it looks like they are coming in for a landing or to smite someone. And here is my new version of Barros & Tempest. This model is hard to photograph because there are so many cool sculpted features going all the way around the model. I love the movement of these sculptures. They work really well together.
  2. This was a Reapercon special a year or three ago, and part of my end of year paint binge for 2020. Despite that. it didn't get finished until July of this year. It's very small, would just fit on a round 1" base.
  3. I saw the Rocky miniatures, and with how cute they are I could not resist getting one to use as a dragon to send against my players. As such, here is my take on the Flying Rocky, as a juvenile Red Dragon! Comments, criticisms and advice as ever more than welcome!
  4. Once I saw this little guy I knew I was going to have to do something special for the base. Fortunately I had a few old Microarts woodland bases with logs on them that would make good flight stands. I imagine a young gold dragon flitting from stump to stump with joyful abandon, oblivious to the hunting party that stalks it.
  5. Working on something new, presenting Brokk Grungsson, Lord-Magnate of Barak-Nar, The Paragon of Prosperity from the City of the First Sunrise. He's a Dwarf Sky-Pirate who comes in lots of pieces:- Lots and lots of pieces. Normally, I'd build various sub-assemblies for ease of painting before final assembly. But with the way the flying harness is built around Brokk it's looking like I might have to paint the individual pieces as he goes together. This is as much as I dare assemble for now. Most of Brokk and the legs and shoulders of his harness. And then the painting began. Going against the official scheme (as usual) I've gone for red armour (Scarlett Red > Brownshade Wash > Blood Red > 1:1 Blood Red/Orange Red).
  6. Ach, reading the fine print for the airline (Delta), I think one leg of each trip is on a connecting flight where I'm limited to just a personal item. I had planned on bringing my TableWar case as a carry-on and a laptop bag as a personal item. I've got to call them and straighten it out, but has anyone had issues flying with cases? Any other things to know about flying with our delicate little time sinks? Maybe also this could be this year's general 'how to pack your minis' thread in addition to the plane stuff. My concerns are compounded by not having flown since 9/11, though I did fly quite a bit before then. So things are a bit different these days.
  7. Hello fellow members. I need some information. I want to expand my harpy collection. A while back I saw a photo of (6) harpy miniatures...(4) were in flight poses with spread wings & (2) were ground based. The bodies were beautiful nude female form with the legs & feet becoming talons. Who makes/made these miniature & are they still available? I know it wasn't Reaper or Ral Partha (I have those in my collection already). Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
