Bhelidain "Bhela" Kharandok She stood there, hammer at the ready and massive shield strapped to her arm effortlessly. Her father wanted to keep her safe and out of the fray, but she'd have none of it. She was just like him when he was younger, a warrior and a priest to the dwarf gods. Bhela was now adventuring with companions who had "questionable" scruples at best, she felt that she could help the elf lord who she followed and get him to change back to who he used to be... who she first looked up to as a lass... This was her calling, this was the way she had chosen. Figure: Freja Fangbreaker, Dwarf Sergeant (SKU #14085) Manufacturer: Reaper Material: Metal Since I started working on this one last night, I figured I might as well go ahead and post a WIP thread. This is going to be a PC for one of my D&D players. He sent me a pic of a female dwarf cleric for inspiration. I went looking in Reaper's store and ended up with Freja. Inspiration picture Conversion weapon swap of axe head for hammer and modification of shield are required to fulfill the vision. Hammer was pinned and glued on. The shield, I had to work on a bit harder. It required me snipping off the metal studs on her original shield, filing them down to be smooth, then I worked on the back of the shield and snipped off the raised metal edges and filed them down smooth. After all this, I used ProCreate epoxy putty and super glue to affix a piece of plasticard that I cut to the appropriate size and shape over the shield in her left hand. Left it all to cure overnight and tonight I'll get her primed up and see about filling any gaps that need to be fixed (if there are any). Current WIP pics!

... and they all fall down. Where they blind-folded or something?! Druid! This is actually the first mini I ever bought, well over ten years ago. At the time I couldn't imagine painting her (those tiny eyes!) and figured she'd just be metal coloured. Obviously, things have changed. I decided that I wanted her to be a more colourful druid, because nature is colourful, so why are druids always in boring green and brown? And then her bird ended up being a parrot. This is the mini for my Hubby's dragonborn paladin, Sharoc-Pel. Hubby wanted him fairly simple and non-fancy, so I stuck with steel coloured armour for him. This is Rokori, my Little People Beauty Pageant entry. She's a guard for the King of the dwarves, which is what the symbol on her shield is meant to be. When I entered her in the pageant she actually wasn't done, but I didn't notice until too late that her belt buckle was unfinished. So this is the finished version, with the shield on her belt buckle too. And last is the polar bear. It was painted up as familiar for a snow elf character. She has a name, but durned if I remember it Went with warm whites for this polar bear and put some snow effect on her paws, between her claws. She has yet to bloody anything. I just got back from taking a brief hiatus. It actually lifted last week after I decided to repaint my level 32 Warblade and a friend commissioned me to paint his character (he tried to pay me... I refused. I hate taking money from friends :) They always get FREE commissions! :D My specialty! I just like seeing them happy :D) Anyway, the first is Freja Fangbreaker (the bone version). This is the 2nd time I've painted this figure; the other being 3-4 years ago. She has an enlarge insert with both an earth magnet in the base itself and in the miniature base. I've been doing the enlarge inserts for a few years now; so much more appealing to the eye than just black bases! Both this and the commission were speed paints.. enjoy! Now here is Broderick Alt Pose, Crusaders Captain. He's my first serious attempt at NMM. It's not great, but pretty good for a first time, I think. I know that I need deeper transitions; but again I had a time crunch. My friend was very particular on the colors and pretty much everything for him. Here he is with his enlarge insert (he's a 32 barbarian warblade). It was pretty nice to dip my toes in again....

Two Reaper Bones I painted recently for gaming. They're just tabletop jobs, but they were fun to paint! This one has an insert base for when the D&D character is enlarged.
