  1. Hello Everyone we have launched our first kickstarter campaign with two stories weve poured our hearts into Dawn#1 and MightyMan#0 we are looking to create a new superhero universe that brings comics back to its roots by putting story telling first and even if you dont leave a donation we would like you to take a look. http://kck.st/3KcXwLC
  2. Normally I stick to Fantasy but recently I acquired 3D files for a wonderful faction of Space Woofs. The Jackals from Onepagerules. Naturally I bought them all... Don't worry citizen, WOOF has no plans to conquer the Galaxy...honest... In the welcome pack of that patreon I also got several Robot Legion Troops and I got some free Alien Hive and Eternal Dynasty minis as well. Combined with a "few" other scifi minis and files I have, I decided it to be time to explore the Galaxy. This is not my first time though. Here are some minis I painted in the past that fit the bill. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/73384-the-elder-god-escapes-his-container-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91382-survivor-dog-by-glitterwolf/ https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/78572-50227-dee-dee-astro-girl-with-martian-mindworms-by-glitterwolf/ Enough of that... On to adventures in Space! I present the Jackals. First 3D prints are now curing. A Jackal Assault Beast. Three Jackal Nomads A few Power Packs, Backpack/Rocket pack and an Oil Drum. This will make a nice start. Since I don't play the game I will paint what I like and make up my own stories like you're used from me. Official background for the Jackals:
  3. Looks cool: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/648053684/dystopia-city?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=Dystopia City
  4. Private Chapman has been in stasis for 1,538 days and awake for two. Private Chapman is wondering where she is, when she is and what her mission is. Private Chapman is also pondering why she hasn't been issued desert pattern armour. Private Chapman has just spotted something up ahead. Private Chapman's life expectancy is four minutes. (Again, sorry about the photos which were taken on my phone.)
  5. Sometimes I like to turn the shipping containers into bunkers or other little outposty things. I got some kind of not-great pics this time. They're taken in various stages, so flock missing in some/not in others, and some areas do not appear painted here, that were painted later. EDIT: Hmmm.... I stuck these here because they started out as Reaper (models), but now I wonder if this should be in the terrain section.
  6. These are from the old Grenadier set #1502 Robo Hunters from the Future Warriors range, sculpted by Mark Copplestone, a vision of the future from the 1980s. I wanted to paint up some PoC figures. The Grace Jones lookalike was an obvious choice, as was the glowering dude in dreadlocks. The teenager fits too. There's also a guy with some ludicrous hair but I didn't paint him this time. All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios. Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated. This is the way I usually start miniature figures: Lightly primed with Titanium White, then when that is dry, washing it over with Burnt Umber. Burnt Umber is a dark, transparent pigment that settles into crannies when thinned down and shows the details very well. It also gives a nice warm undertone to later paint layers.
  7. Sometimes inspiration strikes and you start fiddling around with an idea without really planning it. This is my second ever piece of terrain, and first one in about 20 years (did a paper towel tube bunker in my teens). Started off with some packaging material, and decided I would make a garage. That then turned into a workshop, and then kept growing. Somewhere I decided that this would be the cyberpunk equivalent to a wizard's tower, by being the home of some sort of technomagus. Also when I paint it, will make more sense with the wizard reference (hint: yellow bricks at the garage entrance and an Oz themed mural on garage door.) Early WIP pics in second comment. First two pics are from when I first started amd it was still going to be just a garage. Third through fifth images are when I started getting the wizard tower idea wth it.
  8. This is Patrick Keith's 50246: Marie, She-Bot, famous from the old Fritz Lang movie "Metropolis," and two other robots Johnny Lauck sold adjacent to his sci fi Salvage Crew. I painted them up in less than an hour. WIP thread here.
  9. One of my gaming group gave me this to paint ages ago and I forgot about it. Found it as I am packing things to move. As I haven't had time to paint much as I try to balance my time between working and packing/moving between homes three hours from each other. Decided on this long weekend in Australia to do a little speed paint. Isn't perfect. But am pretty happy for a couple of hours work.
  10. This is one of three figures from the Ral Partha (now Iron Wind Metals) set "Wolfram's Gang." The set has three trolls, a woman with a rifle and pistol, a cyborg-troll, and this fella. His clothing was a little more eccentric than the others', and all that bare skin inspired me to try my hand at painting tiny tattoos on his skull and arms. There's a WIP thread for a whole lot of Shadowrun trolls here. Show-Off threads for the other Shadowrunners are: Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, an ork woman street samurai, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and the unbelievably over-the-top Lord Torgo.
  11. These are old Ral Partha sculpts from Iron Wind Metals. They are assorted deckers and /or riggers from the Shadowrun game, i.e. people Of The Future who use computers in a virtual matrix and puppet combat drones in the physical world. It occurs to me that decker miniatures are not much called for, since all of their relevant gameplay is in online virtual personas which don't tend to look like people and in an environment where mapping out positions is impossible, so tabletop gameplay with minis is ... a little diffuse, at best. So I wonder how much demand there actually was for figures of the "meat space" physical reality of the deckers, the people who (this is so '90s a vision of the future) carried big physical keyboards in their hands and had to be physically wired into the computer network, including physical implanted wire plugs in their skulls! I love these figures for their outdated vision of future tech. Also they are lovely little sculpts. Anyhow, I have here the elf man from the set 20-572: Elven Deckers - Male & Female; the woman (who turned out to be an elf) from set 20-524: Riggers & Drones (5); the human woman decker from the set 20-501: Deckers (3);and the orc man decker from the set 20-595: Assets Inc. I: Shadowrunners. At the moment I've primed them with Titanium White and washed them with Burnt Umber. The hair is only blocked in so I can do the faces; it will be elaborated later. I am still working on the faces, although I like this first one: Elves are supposed to be a bit full of themselves, so I tried for a haughty look. Speaking of an obsolete vision of the future, this one is wearing cut-off jeans. I'm dissatisfied with this one's face. Fortunately in-game there are prosthetic "Chibi eyes", so I can paint them over weird and claim that's what they are. This guy is full of personality, although you can really see how bizarrely retro the idea of the tech is. Yep, he has to lug that thing around wherever he goes because there's no way a portable computing and communication device could be made, I dunno, pocket sized. As usual, this thread may be sporadic as my painting time is almost random between art projects.
  12. These are two Itar's Workshop terrain pieces. The coppoer coiled steampunk-looking one is IWS-IND-003, "Engine", and the squared-off dark futuristic one with the inner green glow is IWS-IND-001, "Power Generator". There's a WIP thread here. They are painted with metallics and straight colors. Here's the power generator with an old Ral Partha Shadowrun troll to show the scale.
  13. I realized I hadn't posted all the old Shadowrun Ral Partha figures I painted last year. This is an ork woman street samurai. Like all old Parthas, her base is integral and pre-sculpted. I think I prefer the new Shadowrun aesthetic, where even orks can be kind of cute. This one is pretty grotesque. The rest of the Shadowrun pieces I painted at the same time are Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and the marvelously over-the-top Lord Torgo.
  14. This is one of the old Ral Partha Shadowrun figures I painted up last fall, an actual cyber troll with cyber armor and implants. I was trying for an effect of shiny armor at night with multicolored reflections from different directions. Not sure how successful I was. The other Shadowrunners have other Show Off threads: Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an ork woman street samurai, an Oni bouncer, and the unbelievably over-the-top Lord Torgo.
  15. Was at my local walmart and noticed that the Pledge with Future floor polish seemed to be missing, then I noticed this: seems like they have changed the name and packaging again. this one did say that it was formerly pledge with future on the back.
  16. This is Reaper's 50287: Caine, Cyber-Troll, a design-your-own mini designed by Wayne Reynolds and sculpted by Bobby Jackson. It came in two parts, which fitted together neatly at his wrists and the shoulder point of the strap. They were rather bulky and I felt better using pins to hold them together. The base supplied was too small for Caine's wide stance, but I hear Reaper is working on that. Meanwhile I used a larger round base and painted it up to look like asphalt. The WIP thread (which also includes a number of old school Ral Partha Shadowrun figures) is here. Show-off threads for the other Shadowrun figures are: a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an ork woman street samurai, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and the unbelievably over-the-top Lord Torgo. You can see the entire squadron of cyber trolls on Jasper the 2nd's Spaceship Superstar - Squad Entries thread.
  17. I've been going back and forth over starting a WIP for these because I've been noodling on them for a while and they're pretty far along. But hey. Perhaps this will be an incentive to get cracking and finish them. These are some official and unofficial Shadowrun figures, cyberpunk biggish humanoids, Reaper's 50287: Caine, Cyber-Troll, and a couple of trolls and an ork from Ral Partha, currently available from Iron Wind Metals (there's another ork, a decker, in this WIP). They're big. They're futuristic (for a particularly 1980s vision of the future). They're tech and camp and fun. I am trying to do Reaper's cybertroll in red and green without making him look too Christmasy. I am still pretty new to pinning; his hands and gun are still separate. This is an old Ral Partha cybertroll. I am trying to do some object-source-lighting on him, as if he were in shiny armor in the city at night, with orangeish city lights reflected from the cloud cover above and different colored lights from different directions. At the moment he looks pretty awful. I used the colors of 'eighties fashions on the female troll, which my have been a bit mean. This is as far as I know Ral Partha's -- indeed, anybody's -- only female Shadowrun ork. She is, let's face it, grotesque. I like the newest Shadowrun edition's illustrations of actually attractive orks, but so far there's no figures like that available. This is Lord Torgo, a particularly nasty troll character from the Shadowrun universe. He's pretty over the top. There is a chain which goes between his hands and a rifle and axe for his back which I haven't glued on yet.
