  1. They say a work of art is never completed, merely abandoned. Here are my latest abandoned projects:
  2. Below are the original Colossal Skeleton sculpted by Jason Wiebe and the Bones Undead Giant (renamed Colossal Skeleton in Preview Gallery). I was looking at the Bones version on my desk after having received my order yesterday and I was amused to note that the primary weapon had changed from the original. A second look proved I wasn't losing it and there it was ... a Tombstone Hammer. I haven't noted any topics on the conversion ... I didn't search all that hard ... so I thought I would mention it. I much prefer the Bones weapon conversion. What are your thoughts?
  3. So I've finally finished my last of my Ral Partha giant quartet. Just got the grass put on about thirty minutes ago and might need a slight non-giant break for a wee bit. With this one, figuring he was a cloud giant, I actually used rainy gray, then cloudy gray as his main colors and worked from there. It's a little monochromatic with whites, greys and black, but added just a tad bit of color with his shield belt buckle (it's supposed to be a cloud with a lightning bolt in case anybody's wondering). I also tried giving him some pink eyes as I could just kind of see some adventurers picking out two pink pinpoints coming out of a foggy morning. Not so happy however with the picture but it might be because it's a grey giant with a grey background behind him. Anyways, enjoy!
  4. So as I continue painting old miniatures, here's the next one up, an old Ral Partha Hill Giant, which I think is the updated/remodeled one of the first one I'd done before http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/49658-ral-partha-hill-giant/ . I usually just put up one photo of the front, but this one is kind of at an odd striding angle and has a few little details which seemed to have merited more than one angle. My favorite part of this figure ended up actually being his pet or snack in his European shoulder bag. Anyhow, hope you enjoy!
  5. This is an old one I have from Ral Partha. The sword is MIA from the move but I am sure I can find it. I did a fire brand. Iron Wind Metals has the mold now. The beads on the bottom were a suggestion from a player. It represents a magical treasure from within a labyrinth or something. They do have a neat sheen to them. I might go back and add some gold nuggets, etc.
  6. The giant slug is another common creature encountered by the adventure group; both indoors & outdoors. I tried to paint the creature with a look of fleshy rubbery interior and a leathery exterior look.
  7. Giant Desert Scorpion...this is a work in progress...I have done my base color work...now I have to do my lighter desert sand highlights. The scorpion will be mounted on a desert landscape motif base. It will be a creature that the adventure group encounters when they enter the barren desert wastelands (they have a while to go).
  8. This is a giant creature that is a common encounter for the adventure group. It is encountered in caves, caverns and dungeons...but can also be encountered outdoors around the entrance to same caves, caverns & dungeons. I gave it a "high gloss" finish to represent the luminescent factor (it appears (in game play) luminescent in the darkness of caves, caverns and dungeons. It is a neat enemy foe for my adventure group(s).
  9. I paint very few creatures that my RPG adventure groups encounter; but this is (1) of a pair of beautiful barrow rats that Reaper put out and I painted both as adventure playing pieces. This is (1) of those two.
  10. This is one of the enemy monsters that my adventure groups encounter...he is (Brutus, an ogre warband leader). This is also my 1st attempt at trying to post (multi-view) photo images. I want to thank (buglips*the*goblin) for telling me how to do this.
  11. Conversion of 65105: Talanka, Female Ogre Shaman into a hill giantess. The club is from the staff that was originally in her left hand. The drinking horn started as one of the tusks strapped to her back.
