  1. Unfortunately one of these chaps is forever lost in the mysterious realm of Spaireroomia.
  2. This was my second diorama for ReaperCon but was the one not judged. The idea behind it was a Mousling adventuring party finding treasure but also finding that others were already there. I wish I had done more with it, such as adding more elements on the Mousling side and possibly a back drop but I was sadly running out of time and this was the entry that suffered for it.
  3. The Hog Wild Crew from the game Malifaux by Wyrd Games. Warning: I don’t play Malifaux, but I do love these minis. Apologies in advance about any in-game mistakes I might make here. These are the entire contents of the boxed set called “Hog Wild”. HIPS plastic miniatures, many pretty small parts and a bit fiddly, especially the bonus gremlin (to the left) that was included in the box. Even so, lovely minis with a great sense of both personality and movement. The Hog is called “Old Major” but I have done him up as the tyrant Napoleon from the Animal Farm animated film (1954) which is a film everybody should watch (or read the book by George Orwell).“Old Major”, incidentially, is also the name of the old hog who starts off Animal Farm by holding an inspirational speech shortly before he dies, a speech that inspires the revolt on the farm and the rise to power of Napoleon. But I found this model to be much more Napoleonesque than the wise Old Major…as some animals are more equal than others. Ulix is the Leprechaun-like beardo with the top hat, and as far as I can tell, the leader of the crew. Penelope the hound helps keep the rest in line. I did this one similar to a dog a friend of mine had many years ago. The three little pigs huge boars. Excellent models with heaps of animation and personality! Imagine one of these barreling out of the undergrowth, charging straight at your little, unprotected hunting party… And the bonus bayou gremlin, and extra included in the box with a sticker on the outside.
  4. So I put this guy together today and painted him o.O bit of a quick job for me but he was really fun to paint. Still working on taking better pictures sigh. I was trying to get a good shot of his shirt because I did a little cute thing on it. But his arms kinda cast a shadow on it. Anyway, hopefullly it's still recognizable
  5. Just finished these tonight - or well almost, as I was taking this pic, I realized I'd forgotten one of the gremlins faces >< sigh - anyway they're not great, but they're done. I had a really hard time lining up the arms with the rifles (they're in 3! pieces) and once I had that done, I didn't realize the head almost didn't fit. Yes, I dryfitted them but wyrd's stuff's a bit... erm weird sometimes. Anyway, they are indeed together, hopefully they'll stay that way once I start playing with them lol.
  6. I finally had a fairly bright day, so I took final pictures of this miniature which I'd done previously about a month ago, I think. The first one is on the display board I made for my Gremlins. C&C is always welcome! I have a tough time with blending and I'm trying to perfect it. At least on this mini I feel that I got the highlights in the right places lol And I realize there's a terrible mold line especially on the pig :( I just couldn't get it to go away and it's in a very awkward spot for later fixing. Anyway, pics:
  7. These were a quick paint job for my pathfinder game, then they sat around for a while not even glued to the base when I just decided to finish basing them since the weather was so nice and my dining room gets lots of sun. The mites themselves are a little slap dash, but i'm fairly happy with how the bases turned out. I stuck down some Howard hues paint that had dried to a putty like quality and then leveled it of to the top of the base's lip with a toothpick. I then etched it up with an exacto a bit and washed Golden micaceous Iron oxide over it (which has enough warnings on it that I'm sure buglips would find it delicious) then a wash of black. The whole team. Edit: Sorry about the lighting. I take pictures outside and the sun was very bright and I couldn't find a way to get rid of the shadows. :(
  8. This will probably end up being slow and sporadic, but we'll see how it goes.
  9. So out of my half dozen or so current projects this is the one that's getting the most focus. It's my construction of a free maze/labyrinth game called Labyrintus. I'm scaling it to work with Reaper's gremlins, you'll notice one standing the by the 1/2 painted wall. The game plays up to 4 players each with 4 playing pieces which makes the gremlin set perfect. Does anyone know of any similarly sized minis that come in convenient sets of 4? It'd be fun to have 4 different factions rather than 4 sets of gremlins. http://www.flickr.com/photos/12033267@N08/8460759530/'>
