Though all these sculpts from Stonehaven Miniatures are intended to be Grippli, I think they'll see more use as Grung as I run "Tomb of Annihilation" The figures are from the last few Kickstarters. The former frog. A froggy doodad. Must be a Mystic. You can tell by his shiny rock. SUMO! The Doot-Dooter: A nasty little Warlock. A Wizard with a fake beard. Who does he think he's fooling? A slippery Pickpocket. And a-rangin' we will go:

Catching up on my backlog for the May RPChallenge photos.... No, you don't need to remind me that it's already Mid-June, thank-you-very-much. Not sure when it happened, but the picture in the online store shows a different weapon for his little guy. After painting him, I can see why they may have had to re-mold him. The staff he is carrying g in my Kickstarter version is made from very soft Bonesium, and I am worried that normal handling may rip that arm out of the socket where it is jones to the main body. I may need to find a way to reinforce it. But, it's a shame since the staff is SO CUTE! After donning his "disguise"... So, what's a tree frog doing on a sandy beach with puffer fish and sea stars, you ask? "What? You never had to relocate to get a job?"

Also recently completed are a group straight out of the swamp. To start, some group shots, which nicely show how darn tiny the Stonehaven Grippli and Hengoyokai are.

Well, I've not been as active a painter as I would have liked, but I've managed to get two pieces done in March. The first, Grimm Grayrune, dwarf priest. I love this sculpt, it is so perfect for the subject. I removed his broccoli base, and mounted him on a Secret Weapons resin base which had some mystical runes carved in it. Seemed appropriate. I am not satisfied with the OSL effect I was going for from the runes, making them look to be glowing, but I am not displeased either. I really am happy with how the rest came out, though I still need to work more on my blending. And then there is this Stonehaven Grippli archer. Wow is he small. I had a lot of fun with this guy, but he's not the easiest thing to paint by any stretch. Still, I had almost as much fun making his tree. As always comments and constructive criticism eagerly accepted.

So, a couple of you know in a PbP pathfinder game, I am playing what started off as a joke. A Grippli ninja based on my Facebook avatar, which is a picture I stole after Froggy posted it. A frog, or in this case Grippli ninja. Stonehaven, makers of gnomes and other assorted awesomeness actually have a few Grippli for sale. I bought one. This is my attempt to do it justice. First, the picture. Spoilered for size and secondly, what I have to work with...not spoilered for size...

Since "Warrior, Maiden, Monster: A WIP" is done (except for basing Lady Devona), I've decided to move ahead on my to-do list. BAM! Stonehaven minis. We're going to start with the Fallen King and the Gnomish Scout (both mounted and dismounted). You're welcome to follow along, and shout encouragement, jeers, gibberish, barbaric YAWP!s, or whatever else you like.

I have been wanting to paint this mini since I got my hands on it and finally broke out the colorful paints and went at it. The eyes and red stripe are done with dry pigments. As a piece of whimsy I tried to paint the spear hes using to look like a used wand. I should mention that this mini is tiny! the base is a 25mm square. I did have some additional fun with the base, playing with my new Happy Seppuku basing stamps. I am still learning to get side texture without destroying the other side or smashing the whole thing flat. Enjoy! as usual QCC always welcome.

This will probably end up being slow and sporadic, but we'll see how it goes.
