  1. Presenting a (Slightly blurry) Harmony, part of the Masons faction for the now defunct game of Guild Ball. Not sure if this is Original or Veteran Harmony (There isn't much difference between the two), but as she's pretty dinky I'm guessing Original (The early Guild Ball stuff is a bit on the small side). Rather pleased with how she turned out, I think I did a good job on her face and grubby vest! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Presenting Brisket, a member of the Butcher's Guild from the OOP game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. I can't find my pile of game cards at the moment, so I'm not sure if this one is OG Brisket or Veteran Brisket. Painting a Guild ball mini seems to have become my go to method for overcoming a case of the "Hobby Wobbles", not sure why. Anyways, pretty happy with this one. Wish her weird, puffy, split sleeve thing was a bit neater but that's about it. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  3. Presenting Venin, a member of the Alchemists Guild from the, now defunct, game Guild Ball from Steamforged Games. A man whose towering ego never matched his mediocre skills as both an Alchemist and a Guild Baller. Too dumb to realise he was being set up when one of his side jobs as an assassin went wrong, he ended up being beaten to death in retaliation. Had a few problems deciding on colours (I'm still not convinced on the sky blue trim of his shirt), but he's done and he doesn't look terrible. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. Presenting Hammer, a captain in the Masons Guild, from Steamforged Games now defunct Guild Ball range. He's a man dangerously obsessed with the idea of physical perfection. Another one I'm not too happy with, the casting wasn't great and I could never completely sort out all the mold-lines, which is why he sat unfinished for a few months. His face does look better in hand though, so that's one good thing. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. Presenting Calculus, she's an alchemist from the Alchemy Guild wielding some sort of alchemy flute, she was made by Steamforged Games as part of their discontinued Guild Ball range. Not too happy with this one. Her face and hair came out okay, but it went downhill from there, couldn't even do a decent job taking piccys. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. Presenting Sakana (Not sure if this is the regular or veteran version), a member of the Fisherman team from the, now defunct, game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. This guy was one of those weird Guild Ball minis where I'm not quite sure what's going on with their outfit, I still can't figure out if he's wearing a roll-neck vest or just has a odd neck and, now looking at it in piccy form, I'm pretty sure the top half of his trousers aren't actually trousers. He still came out okay though. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  7. Presenting the veteran version of Minx, a character in the sadly now defunct game of Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. She's being sitting in the 'Cupboard Of Unfinished Things' for a couple of years now, so it feels good to finally get her finished. As always any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  8. Presenting Harriet the Hat, she represents the veteran version of Harry the Hat and is part of the Engineers Guild in the now defunct game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. She was originally a down on her luck student, before encountering a certain cursed piece of headgear, now people say she's like a completely different person. I'm pretty pleased with how this one turned out, even though she doesn't photograph too well. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  9. Presenting Veteran Hemlocke, she's part of the Morticians Guild from the game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. Originally part of the Union, she managed to escape it's destruction and, being what passes for a magic user in the Guild Ball world, found a home with the spirit summoners of the Morticians. Overall I'm happy with this one, but she is a bit rough in places, painting that snake was a big pain in the bum! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  10. Presenting Hooper (the guy) and Quaff (the dog), members of the Brewers Guild faction in the (now, sadly defunct) game Guild Ball from Steamforged Games. Don't know much about this pair, except that Quaff is a good boy (like all doggies). I'm not normally much of an animal painter, but I had fun working on Quaff (probably because of how quick and easy it was). Hooper had a few casting issues, but I think he turned out okay in the end. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  11. Presenting Corsair, a Captain of the Fishermans Guild team in the game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. Don't know much about this one, except the match where he loses his foot is the first bit of fluff in the first Guild Ball rulebook (Ox from the Butchers Guild hacks it off with a meat cleaver). Pretty pleased with this one, but my Guild Ball stuff always turns out fairly decent for some reason. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  12. Presenting Rage, a player for the Union mercenary team in the game Guild Ball by Steamforged Games. A man prone to violent outbursts, he hated working under someone else and so made plans to take the captains spot for himself... This one turned out to be surprisingly fun to paint, and I'm happy with the result even though I wanted his hat and waistcoat to be a darker green. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  13. Presenting Theron, a captain in the Hunters Guild team in the game of Guild Ball by Steamforged Games, and that's about all I know about this one. Quite pleased with this one, had fun painting all the stitching and other doodads. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. Presenting Mash, a player for the Brewers Guild in the game of Guild Ball. A raging force of nature on the pitch and a gentle giant off it, Mash was the calming presence to his wife's fiery temper. However, recent internal strife at the Brewers Guild left them weakened and disorganised, something their rivals were quick to take advantage of, resulting in Mash being killed by an old enemy of the Guild. Another mini I'm pleased with. His skin went a little wonky but I think the rest of him turned out okay. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  15. Presenting Ballista, a Captain of the Engineers Guild team in the game of Guildball. A former siege engine designer and the father of robotics, his refusal to play Guild politics saw him fall out of favour and lose his Captaincy to Pin-Vice. Had a lot of fun painting this one, even if he came rather close to being over-detailed even for me. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  16. Presenting Veteran Chisel, a player for the Masons Guild in the game of Guild Ball. This is one of the many Guild Ball characters I don't know much about, although it's surprising she got a veteran version without popping up in any big story lines. Had a few issues with this one (even after painting them I still can't figure out her boots) plus she's yet another Guild Ball mini missing a few fingers. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  17. Presenting Veteran Spigot, a player for the Brewers Guild in the game Guild Ball. This mini represents the mid-point of his character arc, where he has realised how much damage the Brewers Guild drinking culture is doing to him and, with a little help from his friends, manages to get off the sauce. Had a lot of fun painting this one, not only is it a really nice mini, it's covered in those fat stitches I love painting. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  18. Yep, more Guild Ball stuff and a whole set this time. See, normally I choose which Guild Ball mini to paint by pulling a random character card out of the box I keep them in (I wish more companies still did character cards, makes it so much easier to add randomisation into the mini choosing process), but these girls didn't come with any, so rather than pack them away and potentially forget they exist, I thought I'd get them done now. Plus these are the Veteran versions of the characters, so it'll help having all the colour choices in one place for when it comes to painting their standard versions. Presenting the Exiles:- These are all characters who originally played for different Guild Ball teams (mostly the mercenary Union team) but for fluff reasons have moved on. We've got:- Hemlocke (ditzy hedge witch now learning the art of Spiritmancy) and Harriet the Hat (down on her luck engineering student possessed by a magic, and possibly evil, hat). Decimate (minor league noblewoman turned formidable sword for hire) and Minx (completely feral forest person). Gutter (formally a Stockholm Syndrome suffering princess turned rage-fuelled murder machine) and Honour (badly injured Masons team captain, now Farmers team coach and occasional goalkeeper, with assistance dog). Made a small start to Decimate today:- Couldn't figure out if she had a shirt on under her vest, decided she looked better without one, just a base of 1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin and a Flesh Wash so far.
  19. Presenting Veteran Gutter from the game Guild Ball, a damaged young woman who used her trauma to transform into a rage-fuelled murder machine. Originally part of the Union team (haven't painted this version yet), this veteran version marks her move to the Butchers Guild team. As I said in her WIP thread, this mini had rather sever moldline and excess flash issues (she's a one piece mini and the areas between her arms, sides and chain were pretty much filled in) which has left the details in a few areas in a bit of a mess, despite that I think she turned out okay. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  20. Presenting Veteran Decimate, a minor noblewoman turned sword for hire, who was originally a member of Guild Balls mercenary Union team (I haven't painted this version yet), however plot related shenanigans caused her to move to the Brewers Guild team resulting in this new 'Veteran' version. Really happy with this one, there's a few things I could do better (her bracers, straps and glove blend together too much), but I think overall it turned out pretty good. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  21. Presenting Iron, a hard-hitting member of the Blacksmiths Guild Ball team. Managed to get stuck in a bit of a 'Paintings too hard, why bother' funk, so I needed an easy mini to get my groove back. I also painted up another bit of Guild Ball terrain, I think this one is a goal post. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  22. Presenting Farris, a former knight turned member of the Blacksmiths Guild, from the game Guild Ball. Rather pleased with this in the end, although I need more experience working on PVC minis, I missed so many mold-lines while prepping this one! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  23. Presenting Compound (from the game Guild Ball), a collaborative experiment between the Alchemist and Engineer Guilds to see how much their combined talents could "improve" the average human Guild Baller. Despite having some difficulties painting his skin, I just could not get the highlights on his belly to look right, I'm very pleased with the end result. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  24. Starting yet another Guild Ball mini:- Compound, a player for both the Engineer and Alchemist Guilds. He was pretty easy to assemble considering he came in a lot of pieces for a metal mini (body, apron, both arms, head and four canisters for the engine on his back. Since it involved drybrushing, I started on his mechanical arms:- So far I've finished the wooden (Parasite Brown > Brown Wash > Parasite Brown drybrush > Ochre Yellow drybrush > Sepia Wash) and material (Scarlett Red > 1:2 Scarlett Red/Pale Yellow > Brown Wash) parts. The bronze metal parts are a base of Bronze with a Brown Wash so far and the steel parts are yet to be done.
  25. Still taking a little break from my other projects, so I'm currently painting random Guild Ball minis, the latest being Farris, ex-knight and master blacksmith:- Hopefully I got all the mold-lines, I did spot the one on her collar after taking these piccys. Got her head painted. Her face is a base of 1:1 Beastly Brown/Dwarf Skin, Brown Shade Wash and then highlights of 1:1 Beastly Brown/Dwarf Skin and 1:1:1 Beastly Brown/Dwarf Skin/Light Skin. And her hair is Leather Brown, shaded with Brown Wash and highlighted with 2:1 Leather Brown/Bonewhite. Next job will likely be painting the underside of her horse (he has a name but I've forgotten it) black. I meant to do that first, but forgot
