  1. Hello everyone, I completed this one today. 03892, Dark Dwarf Striker is a Dark Heaven Legends model that was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. The other models of this series are on my to paint list. I bought the metal versions, plus two enlarged Bones Black models.
  2. This is a Dwarf Lord Ragmir by Scibor monstrous miniatures, I got this for my nephew awhile back and just finished it. This thing had a lot of good details, and a cool base even if it was a little small, which is no longer an issue since I just mounted him on his stock base and then a metal knockout from an electrical box. Thanks for looking!
  3. The Series continues with the merriest mini of the lot, the Bones 3 Fire Giant Jailor, joining the Joten Horde of Thrym! Now, after sitting on my desk since pulling him from his plastic bag and dry fitting him together, I've been considering what to do with him. The first thing was the weird shaped integral base ... that needed to be fixed. So I dug around for a base to place his base on and settled for one of the large rounds from the same Bones kickstarter. Now, how best to expand upon the stone work of the integral base or was I going to have to dump it altogether
  4. Presenting Veteran Chisel, a player for the Masons Guild in the game of Guild Ball. This is one of the many Guild Ball characters I don't know much about, although it's surprising she got a veteran version without popping up in any big story lines. Had a few issues with this one (even after painting them I still can't figure out her boots) plus she's yet another Guild Ball mini missing a few fingers. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. Enjoy another rendition of 01608: Reaper 25th Anniversary - Diva the Blessed. Part of the Autumn palette series with NMM, Texture, and Effects. I know it's a great sculpt when I want to paint it again.
  6. Used my extra hour from Daylight Savings Time on Sunday to paint this awesome dwarf. I think I painted her dress 3 different times before I got to the yellow and green combo, and am really happy with how it turned out. I had a rough time with her face though. Her mouth and cheeks seem to indicate shouting orders, but I couldn't get her eyes to express that kind of command. I went over it so many times that I felt like I was losing details, so I just stopped at a point that looked "good enough". I still really like her overall, and had a lot of fun painting her. Critiques and advice are a
  7. Hi guys! So I've had a bit of time this week to do quite a bit of painting, so here is one of three figures I've finished recently. It's another one of the Hackmaster figures recently acquired by Partha, a Cleric sculpted by Jim Johnson back in 2003. As always, hardest thing to figure out was the color scheme, but I think it kind of worked out reasonably well. Chain mail is kind of a pain it seems, because as many times I gave them a coat and a wash, I can still see some little wholes. Oh well, must just accept it!
  8. So here is one of the more interesting figures I've seen in a while, and a bit unusual. This is from the Hackmaster series that Ral Partha acquired and currently offers, sculpted by Bob Olley. She is a female dwarf cleric, and as was mentioned somewhere way back when in the Lord of the Rings if I recall originally, she is a bearded female dwarf. Now I'm not going to pretend that she is a beauty to behold, but I think she's an extremely cool little lady, who would probably shove that hammer up into where she sun no longer shines. I probably would have finished her sooner, but I alway
  9. Hey there Reaper people! here is my take on Bjorn, Dwarven Warrior using NMM. This was painted late last year and is currently being used as a test subject for the new backdrop and my new phone camera. I hope you like it. C&c always welcome. Enjoy.
  10. Pretty cool mini. I painted him up as a half orc.
  11. Cute little dwarf from Bones 3. I painted her up to look like my priest in World of Warcraft. She is adorable! I still need to practice black hair but I like how she turned out and she is for kicking elf on the table so she's good to go. I practiced doing some plaid on her top. She also has a little bottle strapped to her waist. Is it a healing potion? Poison? Or just wine? Who will try it and find out?
  12. So a while ago I painted Trista as a paladin with a warhammer I took from Halbarand the cleric. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/51436-trista-conversion-wip/?hl=trista It was my first conversion, and she's seen a lot of game time. Now that she's a 5th level paladin, I wanted to make a mounted version of her. Back during the Bones 2 Kickstarter there was a suggestion from multiple people to just take one of the mounted Bones, cut them off at the waist and glue the top half of the mini you wanted a mounted version of. Since Sir Danel from Bones 2 had some <ahem> issues with h
  13. Started doing NMM again after almost half a year painting my Skaven AoS army. What do you all think? Thanks in advance for any advice or criticisms.
  14. Here is my newest finished miniature. This is my first real stab at human-like faces and eyes. It was really fun and totally nerve-wracking! It was also my first real foray into basing. I had a ton of fun with this one and am really happy with how it turned out. I showed it to my buddy who plays this character and he loved it, mission accomplished! Thanks for checking him out. C&C welcome as always. -WhatsEcstacy
  15. A buddy gave me his Khador army for Warmachine. While I figure out exactly how I want to paint my stompy robots, I thought I'd paint up one of my warcasters. The red actually fairly easy, if time-consuming. Once I started going for details, it was a little harder. I originally went with red with brown leather (now only on the gun holster), but it was looking pretty muddy. I changed it to black for the most part, but the details were really getting lost. Changing a lot of the black to purple really helped get things to pop. I used a lot of Scale75
  16. Presenting Grand Master Voldus, he's a special character from that Gathering Storm campaign thing Games Workshop have had going on recently. Still haven't worked out how to paint Space Marine armour properly, but he was fun to work on. As always, any comments or criticisms, are warmly received.
  17. My eternal struggle with NMM. But I'm worse with metalics, so I have to improve at least one technique. I hope it looks like an armor to you. I painted this guy for friend - his PC C&C always welcome.
  18. Mighty Grum from Red Box Games. A really cool mini I finished while working through my huge backlog of RBG minis. He's quite small so I didn't bother (or rather I can't do it) with the eyes. I'm happy with how the skin and his fur coat (although it seems abit dull in the photo) worked out.
  19. A quick and dirty version of the Bones Blacksmith I did a while ago. Nothing fancy, basically basecoat + wash + abit of highlight on some stuff.
  20. Finally got around to this guy. I wonder how effective that hammer would actually be.
  21. I got lured into buying a Guild Ball team recently, since it's the new hotness around here, doesn't cost very much to get into, and has nice models. Actually, I was just going to pick up Chisel here, but the store was having a 20% sale, which is practically free, so I had to get the rest of the team to support her. Chisel works for the Mason's Guild, thus her name and choice of weapon. Blue is the official color for the Masons, so I decided to keep that theme. Chisel has abilities like "Crazy," "Sadistic," and "Feel My Pain," so I decided to paint her like a crazy Asian girl from some J
  22. Fun one to paint. His face had a mold line but I just worked with it.
  23. A quick four-hour paint job for a D&D player at my local shop. This guy was fun to paint, and I didn't even notice the mountains on his shield until after I'd painted the bright yellow thunderbolts on top of them (oops). EDIT: The base hadn't quite dried when I took this picture. I went ahead and added some grass to it after.
  24. Presenting the Lord-Relictor, part of my Stormcast force from Games Workshops Age of Sigmar starter set, he's the "good guy" (he's wearing far too many bits of other peoples skeletons for me to actually consider him a good guy) counterpart of my previously shown-off Blood Secretor. Had a lot of fun painting him, apart from his ribbon-cape, hopefully no one can see any of the parts of it I left unpainted (just too hard to get into all the nooks and crannies). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  25. Presenting an Empire Captain by Games Workshop, his WIP thread can be found here. Always liked the Empire faction with their fancy striped pants, and this guy was no exception. Had fun painting him too, except his cape (Grr... Capes! *Shakes fist angrily*). Came with a really tiny base, so I just gave him a basic grass one. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
