As November's Hangout Figure of the Month, we picked Medusa 77037/02833. Now, because of boobs, I can't share most of my pics of her. However you can see them at my blog: Part 1 Part 2 At this point I just need to touch up a few spots, flock the base, and she's done!

Over a total of about 90+ minutes split over two evenings I managed to get some paint on the cat. The bird had brown liner on it so far. I started with brown liner and worked up with stone grey and linen white. Getting the spots to look good was a pain. Onto the bird next! Gonna use the same set of colors I think.

Not much progress so far. Washed, and hot glued to cork. I didn't check for mold lines before I started slopping brown liner on him, so I finished, then removed mold lines, then touched up the paint. His shield wasn't well attached, so I just pulled it off. That'll make him easier to paint anyway.

I'm a little (a lot) behind on my threads, and even more so on getting to work on May's figure of the month. It didn't help that I didn't order him until the middle/end of the month. I started last night... Prep was done in the usual way, first by washing in warm soapy water, then attaching him to the cork. I then cleaned up mold lines, though I missed a few. Mainly the one running across his knuckles on his left hand. Then I painted on a 5:2 brown liner & flow improver mix. As you can see below, I'm working on a few other minis too. The orc and werebat will get their own threads later. Tonight was blocking in base colors, and working a bit on the skin. I'm sticking with the gnoll theme I did way back in the chainmail days with the gnolls all being demonic, to one extent or another. So they all get greyish fleshy faces, hands, and feet. I used Void blue for that, then mixed in cloudy grey to bring the color up. The fur was Nut Brown, with the ruff getting some Vallejo Red Leather. The cloth is Dragon Red, as are the lips. Everything that is going to be metal got a coat of Black. And that's where I'll pick it up tomorrow! Thanks for looking. C&C welcome!

Following up on last month's Shaman figure, this month we're moving onto the Commander figure! Tonight was simply glueing him to the cork and then giving him a basecoat of brown liner. I expect to paint him basically the same way as the shaman, so this should go pretty smoothly... *insert universe laughing at me here*

In spite of the fact that I haven't finished my Orc Druid, I decided tonight to get March's goblin shaman started. A couple of goblin troops snuck in as bodyguards... Nothing much but some brown liner and corks from the drow.

So, a bunch of us have decided that we're going to work on the same figure every month on the Google Hangouts. The first one (that spawned the idea) is the old Chainmail Orc Druid. In the future, most of the figures chosen will probably be Reaper. I used part of my day off yesterday to find, and get caught up with, everyone else that's doing this. I decided to go with the stereotypical orcs=green paint scheme. I had 2 excellent reasons for this: 1) The green paint already happened to be out and open, 2) There's this skirmish game called 'Mordheim' where you control a warband that's looting a ruined city. In this game, there is the option to play an orc and goblin warband. I already have half of a warband painted; this guy will be joining the gang once he's done. Of course, I'll use him for other stuff, too. This is what I got done yesterday: reprimed, and basecoat for the skin and teeth.
