  1. I'm a pretty new painter this guy is my 20th or so miniature and is the first one i'm willing to brave showing off. Any creative criticism is not only accepted but is greatly appreciated, I've seen the beautiful pieces that people have done on here and aspire to be half as good! This is also my first post to the forum so I apologize in advance if I've misplaced anything.
  2. So I use Game Color, and am looking at Game Air. However, I've read something disturbing regarding Cadmium being in Vallejo's paints. While I know this is true for the model colors, and that some game colors have specific titles telling you that there IS Cadmium, does anybody know if there's anything I should be worried about? Cadmium is used largely in Europe, and Vallejo selling that doesn't surprise me. HOWEVER, I buy game color expecting it not to be in there lol.
  3. So, as some here know, I'm building a house. Well we had to switch builders and floor plans and this new one has a third garage that we can't have (don't ask, HOA rules) so, assuming the HOA approves the plan I get to turn that garage into a painting studio and gaming room (it will be a regular finished room and not just a garage with stuff in it). So, I need to decide how I want to build it. The room will be single car garage sized but longer and a little wider (I think it was intended for small boats that are common out here) and I should have dimensions this week--which I'll update in this post and this thread. What I need to decide is really do I want to keep the room whole or have two separate rooms? One for painting and one where I can set out tables for my RPG games and other table top games. Also need to decide how much storage space and closet size. I really want to do boards and have places to store terrain and such. So throw out ideas and such. Pictures would be great of storage area. Here's a link to the plan designs though I'm hoping to be able to move that wall some so the kitchen and living areas are a bit bigger. I need to get an idea of what I want so I can get things off to the architect for changes next week.
  4. Hey all! I'm so happy to have found this great forum and community! I was introduced to the world of miniatures almost 10 years ago and used to love painting up hoards of monsters and soldiers, but eventually fell out of love with it. Recently I have been getting back in to tabletop gaming, and I decided to take a different approach to minis, sculpting my own instead of painting! So here is my first creation, a Gibbering Mouther! I figured this amorphous creature was a good place to start so I could get a feel for sculpting in this scale and material. It is still a work in progress, and I know that I need to add more mouths in order for it to live up to its name! I am sculpting with an epoxy from smooth-on, and am really loving it! The pictures aren't the greatest, I know. And theres a bunch of paint specks that got in the putty from the surface I was working on, but please, comment and critique! How would you paint it when it's done? what would you add/change? do you know any resources or sculptors I should check out? Thanks in advance! - Jonathan
