  1. Hi every one, I play this game called Heroscape, its been discontinued since 2005 but there is still a decent following over at heroscapers.com A while back we started talking about and started a few threads on conversions and terrain that could be used. The only differences is that Heroscape is played on hexes and most of the figures are around 28mm tall. When converting it is really easy to just skip the hex part of the tutorial and apply this for any miniature game. With a bunch of pirate figures in the reaper line plus the pathfinder pirate and water themed figures, I thought it would be a good idea to share this over here. I have converted several ships and misc. terrain, I will start copying some of my guides and tutorials here and modify it so it makes sense for non Heroscape use. So any suggestions or comments are always welcomed. Now lets go drown some minis! First, a mini project. These boards are dedicated to a hobby that's all about massive retrofitting and repainting, but most people in other board games like very simple easy projects. for this purpose I did the following two tutorials that where supposed to be simple and done in under half an hour or so. Canoes
  2. I started a thread over in the custom terrain and conversions forum to cover some of my aquatic themed monsters and terrain ( including boats and ships). I also wanted to share my other WIP for some of the figures I am working with or finished. I did most of these conversions for a game called Heroscape over at Heroscapers.com. I like going back to something I did a few years ago and retouch it up, or repaint it or do some additional details. Anything suggestions are always welcomed. 3. So I've recently been getting involved in Heroscape which is a game which the company killed 5 years ago but has a thriving after market community ( heroscapers.com ). Since it was very popular and it's out of print the game minis are selling on Ebay. Many of them are reasonably priced but many are pretty outrageous. So proxies are generally widely accepted. But I began noticing some similarities between the Reaper Bones offerings and some of the Heroscape stuff. For example Zelrig is a Heroscape dragon that is now on ebay in the $80 range. Zelrig: Who looks remarkably similar to 77109: Fire Dragon: Here are the Heroscape DzuTeh (currently around $25 for the squad on ebay): And conveniently, in Reaper KS 3 here's the chill out set: In Heroscape there are the Knights of Weston (also around $25 for a squad on ebay): And here in KS3 again there are the crusaders: well, the crusaders are 12th century and the knights of west are closer to 15th or 16th century, but close enough.... And there are others..... Coincidence? IDK, but it's cool that reaper is making these available so cheaply and we can take advantage of them. Also, they are certainly much better quality molds than the original heroscape minis. Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone else might be interested.
