  1. First warlock for my Thornfall Alliance Fury Road-themed army. Meet Immortan Carver: Kind of a speed paint; I probably only spent a total of about four hours on him. Been in a bit of a slump lately, and I'm trying to break out of it. As always, c & c welcome. EDIT: Whoops. Totally forgot to add his dead grass tufts before the photos. BACK TO THE WORKBENCH, CARVER!
  2. Here's my Ironback Spitter for Hordes. http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_2.jpg http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_3.jpg http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_4.jpg http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_5.jpg http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_7.jpg http://www.terrainosaur.com/figs2/ironback_8.jpg
  3. So Rhyas is a lovely little figure that I found while googling painting techniques. I'd liked her when I saw her for sale, but not enough to buy her, as I'd not seen her raw metal... However, my googling brought up a raw and I fell in love. I got my grubby mits on her rather hastily, and Drifter pointed out she was very Artorias-esque... At which point I therefore had no choice whatsoever but to paint her up in such a fashion. So there she be. Rhyas the Abysswalker, or Notorias of the Abyss, haha. I sanded down the spikes on her arm, which took me longer than I would've
  4. Did this guy in 45 minutes for the Thursday afternoon Speed Paint at Gen Con. No Idea who he is. Relatively happy with him. Though others at the table had more intersting paint jobs. My guy feels at least practical. Also did the Darsword one on friday but I can't for the life of me get her to photograph. I'll try again tomorrow. EDIT: Oh Snap! this is my 1000th post! Ok EJ, Be cool, be cool. Say something to the people. Um...It's been a great ride Good, good. Let's keep it moving. I hope to have something good for a title Yeah, this is good stuff. And I hope this will help every
  5. The "Iron Kingdoms: Unleashed" boxed set came with a nice group of miniatures, as well as a nice scenario and quickplay rule. So what better way to celebrate that painting them up? I went with a neutral "game" theme for the bases, as they're not really lipped or anything and I didn't want flock all over the board game style box everything came with. First off, we have the heroes:
  6. This is the first plastic I have painted in a long time and I am pretty pleased with it but I do need to work on blending my blues. My bloody gore did not work out as planned so could someone please tell me the secret to it. I need good looking gore for my dwarf diorama. PleSe [email protected] away folks ;)
  7. This guy has been mostly painted on my desk for about 6 months. I decided to finish him as part of January's Resolutionary Painting Challenge. I am using the monthly challenges to start some new models but also finish up the backlog on my desk. He was the "test dummy" for the rest of my warspears. I am not really happy with the way the warspears are turning out, but I don't like the models enough to start over so I am pushing ahead and getting them "good enough" and moving on. edit - updated tags
  8. Recently I was hired to paint another ten Circle Orboros Griffon models for a gentleman from Las Vegas. He already owns two that I painted last year, but he wanted to be able to field a veritable army of birdmen in his AD&D game. Here is the first of the batch.
  9. OK...I have some time today so I'll start this up. Won't actually get to start seriously painting again until September or so, but at least this inital post will be taken care of. So I play Warmahordes, specifically Legion of Everblight (title of the thread kind a gives it away, I know). And I have a sizable force, most of which is still bare primer or only partially basecoated. I'd like to field painted armies, since dice roll better for those (that's how it works, right?), and I feel like it's a good idea to get more painted before I start buying more (who am I kidding). So, since this
  10. Well I continue to make progress on my Legion force for Hordes, and I need to make more progress before the 1st when they need to go out for a tourney, so there will probably be at least one more post in the next couple of weeks. Here is the whole group, followed by a few individual shots.
  11. Here's our party of Iron Kingdoms adventurers that I've converted. FIrst off- this is our Ogrun Artillerist/Alchemist. The main body of him was made from a Reaper Bones Orc, and the cannon is made from a GW missile. This is Lug- our Mighty Gobber Man-at-arms/Duelist. It is pretty nice having a little gobber for our tank. He was made from a Bones female dwarf- sword hand is from Mordheim, and the head and breastplate are just green stuff. This last one is our Priest of Cyrris/Arcanist. He also dabbles in alchemy. Also a bones mini with less sculpti
  12. Finally finished these guys! Really like the sculpts, glad I got to discover these through warmachine. Kind of sad that I won't need any more, but that is just an invitation for dioramas and conversions, right? Skorne totally needs to bully some of these guys into beast handler duty.. Wooopsie: Any critique, feedback or hints appreciated :) I'm downloading gimp right now. How do you make pictures brighter?
  13. So, these are my first two completed BONES minis. The Fire Giant queen and an Orc that was too big to fit on a 30mm base, so he became an Ogre instead. Sorry for the bad photos, the Fire Giant queen was varnished with her first coat of gloss before I remembered to take any (and my photography skills leave a lot to be desired). C&C welcome.
  14. First, as always, thank you Reaper for letting us post non-Reaper things to this forum. Second: I have finally painted my battlegroup for Legion of Everblight! I've only had it for two years. A few friends and I are planning a casual journeyman league, so I figured I should at least have the initial group painted...it's only 13 points of the 113 I own, so I still have plenty of "hobby points" to earn if I paint things during the league, and it's nice to have this much done. The Carnivean (the big dude on the right) was done some time ago; you can see his Show Off thread here.
  15. More Legion of Everblight, this time the stingers, a pair of lesser warbeasts. This brings my total painted force up to 19 points. If you like, you can see the base battlegroup here. The stinger is a fun little beast...he can spit caustic fire at range and in melee, he's got a barbed tail that deals poison. I decided to have some fun with color on those tails. If unfamiliar, the markings on the base help show facing. I've also named the similar models in my force to help differentiate; the stingers are Boffo and Barfo. As always, C&C are welcome.
  16. Heres the latest from my Circle of Orboros WIP army. This is my first Huge Base figure, its base is 120mm I used secret weapons blasted wetlands and converted it to a fall theme to compliment the fall theme I've used for the rest of the Army As always C & C are very welcome.
  17. I love these Everblight creatures! Still waiting on my light tent and hoping that will help a little bit with future pics. One of my better highlighting jobs to date. Starting to get the hang of some things and what order to do them in for certain models. I think I am officially a miniatures painter now. I got a stack of about 15 unpainted minis ready to go. Reaper, DarkAge, Mierce, Privateer Press. You name it, I probably got it. When will I get to them? I have not a clue.
  18. Heres the latest from my Circle of Orboros WIP army. This is my first Large Base figure, overall its been alot of fun. As always C & C are very welcome.
  19. decided the color scheme so far. for the skin im going to use Bloodthirsty Red triad for the skin http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/triad/latest/09745 And for the bone and cloth for units and warbeasts is going to be Stone Triad http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/triad/latest/09729 if there is something anyone thinks better for the colors make a suggestions. Next Post will be of a unit of warspears when i get them prime.
  20. Heres the latest from my Circle of Orboros WIP army. Continuing on down my journey focusing on wash's instead of dipping. I'm gonna have to start watching photography video's soon, Laris's light colored fur was causing havoc with my iphone 4's auto brightness. I think they'll work out OK on the table. As always C & C are very welcome, I hope ya like Them.
