As has become tradition the kid and I worked on an ornament this year. The ornament itself is definitely our simplest yet but even though we started early it came down to the wire as we only finished it today. Over the past couple months either myself or the kid, and sometimes both of us, have been sick. Even though it only took a couple of sessions progress was slow. After the kid saw my Gaslands conversions they were fairly adamant we should do something with a car for our ornament. Using just a Hot Wheels truck and a dollar store pine tree we came up with a plan. I expected the kid would want to paint the truck purple but I was in for a surprise. After going through all my paints they chose to paint the truck red. Aside from some cleanup that we did together, with me guiding their hand like when they were younger, the kid painted everything. Applying the wash and the sealer ended up being their favorite part. Finally I painted the year before we glued the truck and tree inside. The ornament then sat until today when we finally found the ribbon needed to hang it. Not our most ambitious ornament but special nonetheless as the kid did the lion's share of the painting all by themselves.

Managed to throw some dice last night with my 15mm SF stuff from the worlds in my head.

In The Worlds in my Head the humans have taken to the stars five thousand years ago. Mother Terra is still thriving, but it is no longer Home. Instead, humanity is spread across as many star systems as there are real-world nations on earth, each with its own histories, traditions, and spiderweb of politics. In general though, they are allied with the Silmn (but not always), fighting the First Ones (but not always) and if you ask ten governments about the Nathi you will get 83 distinct opinions. These vehicles are from a Human planetary marines force somewhere in the galactic sector where all four factions have claims, and display implementations of borrowed technology from all of them. Figures are heavily modified and repainted Hot Wheels cars.

In the 15mm Worlds in My Head, the sidereal wars between The First Ones and the Silmn rage on unabated...

From the Worlds In My Head: The Silmn are spirits coalesced into living crystalline bodies. To the layman they appear as humans made from frosted glass, and are by most accounts beautiful. The galactic wars of the last millennium have left their territory vastly reduced in the onslaught of the Nathi and the First Ones, but still they fight. The Eidolon Warriors of the Silmn, here shown, are the new wave of soldiery - uploading themselves body and spirit into armored battlesuits of reinforced crystal and bonemetal. These suits provide both greater effectiveness on the battlefield, but also a (small) chance for a casualty to transmit himself bodily to the HQ positions and survive the battle. The vehicles operate similarly, though they do contain a rudimentary cockpit as well. Some of these may be a repost, in which case I apologize.
