Hi all. Still relatively new to the forums but I'm going to try to show off my work more often. I was working on an arctic campaign before the pandemic hit and had already started work on a lot of suitable minis. Not sure when or if that game will ever resume, but in the meantime I've got plenty of minis to paint! This time we have the Ice Troll. I'm satisfied with this. Especially proud of his ice chunk. I've never been very successful painting ice or crystals before. Hope you enjoy!
I just got into miniature painting and decided to post on the forum to get some feedback and advice. This is only the second miniature I've ever painted. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out despite my lack of experience. I'm thinking of dry brushing his back a bit more for an even more intense frost/ice effect. I plan on varnishing and basing him as soon as the bases I ordered arrived. Any CC is welcome thanks for looking!
So I've been painting up this fella for Frostgrave. I went classic blue ice troll with him. After taking pictures I see that I could add some depth to the winter wolf fur he is wearing. If it still bothers me, I may revisit it later. For now, he/she. Is done.
Frostgrave has some interesting charts of random encounter monsters. Which means having said monsters ready to play is a good thing. And what is a game set in the lands of ice and snow without Ice Trolls? Even though I have not bothered to specially base my frostgravers with snow effects, and there really is nothing about this minis that points to it living in freezing conditions (with no blubber nor furry hide to keep it warm, it must be a cold, cold monster!) I thought this mini should be an icy blue, like an iceberg drifting slowly on the water. 77344 Ice Trol
