Hi all! Recently began painting miniatures. I got Crowe, Iconic Bloodrager. I made him a beard and colored it. How will you evaluate the work?

I painted up Yoon. She is so adorable! Since she's a kiddo, I wanted her to seem whimsical so I gave her rosy cheeks and purple and yellow striped pants. Her stuffed owl is SO tiny! I enjoyed painting her. C&C welcome!

Hello, This is my first post on the site. I figured I'd post my Alchemist that I am currently using in a campaign. I went with black hair rather than the actual iconic since I was attempting to make this figure match more of what I was playing. Anyway, here are the pics. I know there are much nicer examples out there, but I think this one looks pretty good for my low skill level. Thanks.

This was the first mini I painted in over 25 years. And I had only painted a few pewter battle tech and D&D minis back then. This was a result of watching lots of youtube videos for some tips. I think it came out OK, but I have seen some really nice examples of this one by other people. Well, here's my crack at it... I painted another Bones mini after this one (Iconic Alchemist) and it came out a little better. One thing I noticed on this mini is that I didn't really trim up the mold lines very well around the hands. Thanks for looking.

I was asked to paint Amiri (89005) in a classic wonder woman inspired paint theme, and I matched Virina (03084) to some concept art that was drawn by a player. both characters are being used for a marvel super hero game and come from foreign planets. For Amiri I removed her sword and pinned the ne staff threw the hand grip that was left over from the sword. As for Virina sense I knew I was going to have to free hand he cloths onto a nude figurine I started by sanding down her nipples and coating the part of the model where her top would be in Taniya White. I've noticed this paint tends to dry hard and smooth and would look more like the leather top and pants that are described the players, character description. I hope you like what you've seen I post here a fair amount but I post to my FB page more if you would like to check out my work there it would be appreciated

This past week I painted up the Imrijka, Iconic Inquisitor, figure from the Bones II Pathfinder Heroes set. I believe this figure is supposed to represent a half-orc character, but I chose to paint it up as a half-elf female instead. So, the first thing I did was very carefully try to slice off the fangs. What I couldn't get off with a hobby knife due to the cramped area under her hat, I hoped to disguise with paint. There was something about her outfit that read Old West Cowboy to me; so I decided I would go with that kind of earth-tone palette for this figure. And her coat and hat made her seem a good candidate for Frostgrave basing. I'm really happy with how this figure turned out. I think the "Western" look came across well; and I'm particularly pleased with how her face turned out. I have to say with me faces are a good deal of luck rather than skill. I'm not good at painting those tiny details, but sometimes, like with this figure, my squinting stabs with paint turn out to be in just the right places. :) For the complete, step-by-step painting article, please see my blog: Imrijka

This is the bones version of Pathfinder Seelah, Iconic Human Paladin (Reaper Bones SKU 89011). this is another on I finished in November 2016, but didn't get around to taking pictures until now. There were some issues with the bones material on this one, the nose was flattened a bit plus there was some pitting. I was happy with the freehand, its a bummer it is off center. But she is good enough for tabletop, and she is off the Shelf of Shame.

This week I painted up Ezren, Icon Wizard, from the Bones 1 Iconics II Pathfinder Miniatures set. Like the figure I posted Monday (Seltyiel, Iconic Magus), which I decided to use as a Fire-themed Elementalist, this one I felt would serve as a good Elementalist too, but an Air-themed one. He just had a very wind blown look about him, and I thought I could accent that by painting some wind designs on his clothing. I'm happy with how he turned out, and together I think they make a great pair of Elementalists for Frostgrave.

Over the weekend I finished up Damiel, Iconic Alchemist, from the Bones 1 Kickstarter Iconics and Officially Licensed Pathfinder Miniatures Set. Since he is an alchemist, I thought it might be fun to give him a white lab-coat. Painted for the tabletop. C & C welcome.

This past week I officially began working on the Iconics and Officially Licensed Pathfinder Miniatures Set, from the Bones 1 Kickstarter, and painted the Seelah, Iconic Paladin, figure. Nothing fancy, just a quick job to get her tabletop ready. After I did the finally spray varnish, I used a little bead of superglue to apply a small fingernail gem to the base of her sword. I like the way she came out, though I probably should have spent a little more time with the free-hand on the shield. It is an oddly shaped shield, and there really wasn't much room to do anything on it. I guess I should have just done it in a solid color. Nonetheless, it is a nice basic figure and was easy to paint. C & C welcome

Does anyone have Sharda, iconic shaman? I'd like to see better pictures of her, including the back of her. I have an idea for her, but don't want to commit to it if she won't suit.

Hey all, here's what I'm currently working on. I got a shipment of some more Bones in on Friday before I had to leave town, got back last night and have been painting a bit today. I finally got around to getting some green stuff for filling seams, and I'm trying it out on my Jabberwock. I'm also going to try out base coating in a few different colors rather than hitting the whole mini with a coat of plain black first. I painted Feiya plain black everywhere there wasn't exposed skin or hair. I'll be base coating those later, probably in dirty bone since that's about the only off-white color I currently have. I also got a ton of work done on a Holy Vindicator. I think I'm about 75% done on him. Really just need to get his face, hair, and base done. Base coat was Reaper pure black. Cloak was done in multiple layers of Reaper pure black mixed with increasing amount of dragon blue. The base color for the plate armor was Vallejo Model Air gungrey mixed with a tiny amount of Vallejo Model Air burnt umber. Plate highlights are straight Vallejo Model Air steel. I used Vallejo Game Color burnished copper for the scalemail/chainmail areas, and the hip and shoulder pieces and the angel pattern on the shield were undercoated in burnished copper as well before I applied Vallejo Game Color polished gold. Leather straps/belts are equal parts Reaper harvest brown and leather brown. I also applied a black wash over the whole figure, then went back and re-applied gold and silver to some areas that it darkened too much (mainly the gold areas and the sword and shield).

So I'm currently working on this awesome sculpt of one of the Pathfinder iconics for a Pathfinder game that I'm playing in starting next week. I'd like some feedback/suggestions on where to go from here. I'm somewhat happy with the progress I've made, but I'd like to add some more detail. I'm also not quite sure if I like the robe robe color on the gauntlet/bracer parts. Any tips on painting fire would be appreciated. I tried going with a red base coat, orange first highlight, and yellow final highlight but it didn't quite turn out how I had it in my head. Also, advice on painting light hair colors would be awesome. I went for a blonde color originally, but unfortunately I base coated the whole figure in black and it ended up showing through way too much so I went with a dark brown that I mixed up from some black/brown/gray paints instead (which I actually like pretty well). I'll also take any advice anybody cares to share on basing, since I have never based any miniatures before. I do have some (GamesWorkshop?) small bases, but I don't have any gravel/sand/flock or anything yet to pretty them up. Also of note, third miniature I have ever painted, all of which have been from the Reaper Bones line. Also the first mini I haven't done an ink wash on.

Hi folks! Been a loooong time since I've posted anything. Been incredibly busy with commission work. I did want to get back to posting here, and I think this is a good figure to re-start with. I was asked by a potential new client, to pick a figure and paint it and to take as long as I thought right on it. So here we have Alain the Iconic Cavalier from Reaper's Pathfinder line (in metal). I used 3 different types of NMM, 3 decals from Warhammer 40K, and went with the red and white tabard scheme. Hope you guys like him. I had fun painting him.

Was in the mood to paint a hero. This guy had looked like an interesting miniature for a while. I'm not that familiar with the pathfinder iconics (Reaper introduced me to them) but I like how he's a male hero but doesn't conform to a very stereotypical-looking typecast kind of hero. Of course you need your standard heroes too. But sometimes nice to have something a little different. Anyways, nothing special here. Tried to line his jacket and couldn't get it right so ended up just using a wash then painting over instead. Reaper triad [muddy, earth, leather brown] served pretty well and seems to make a nice leather-looking color when I need it. Kept him as pale as I could. Hair didn't turn out as nicely as some hair I've done in the past but it was okay. Bottles were kind of fun. I'd wanted to try a frosting look on the bottles but I chickened out. Apologize for some of the photos being poor focus. Comments/criticism welcome.

Hey there everybody, It's me again, and this time I have Sajan, the monk from Pathfinder. We are using this figure for a monk in our Pathfinder RPG (just not as Sajan). I had a lot of fun painting this miniature and I tried to thin out the paints more when layering colors. I did find that I got smoother blends and overall better results. I did not originally base this miniature, another player was going to paint him but then left it up to me. I wasn't a huge fan of his rock and land placement so I added a bunch of grass to give him a meddowy feel. His face I feel falls short (first non-hooded mini), but since its not a studio piece I thought it was good enough for our table top game. Figured it'd get a good wear anyways from handling. Thanks for looking guys, Look forward to seeing what you all have to say. :) Cheers.

And for now my last repost. This is all I could find from my earlier posts.. So I'll be painting and then I'll post the newer ones. I'll will show some WIP's I've made alreadey. This Is Bones Kyra. Discontinued due to nosejob.. I used a tiny drop of superglue and I think she made it. The base is made with berry tea, I adorned her wit alchemist symbols.

Merisiel from Reaper. The new(er) Merisiel sculpt painted up for a DnD5 campaign I'm playing in. I'm hoping we'll make the switch to using this one as I like the paintjob better than the one I did on the old sculpt.

Took me a little over a weeks worth of painting, I wish I could paint faster and still do a decent job. He was sitting on the table for quite some time, finally got to him. Pics are about as good as I can get, I lost a white bulb the other day and need to replace. Hope you enjoy my effort.

Tough mini for me. Tried some new color combinations and just glad it wasn't a disaster. My sword was broken upon receiving the model and that was a tough fix since I didn't want it to break the second a player knocks him over. Hope you enjoy.
