  1. Time for a new WIP! I recently received my KS for Infinity Deathmatch: TAG Raid for Corvus Belli. I'm going to start with working on the core box for it, but may eventually expand to the Infinity Defiance boxes I got in another Kickstarter a few years ago, or maybe even that Infinity starter box I got like 4+ years ago...... So TAG Raids is an up to 4 player game played on a number of big hex tiles that can be set up all sorts of different ways. Your primary mini is a TAG (Tactical Armored Gear, aka the big stompy robots), for a mining corp, and the goal is to gather some special materials before your opponents. Of course the can also shoot them and attack then and so on. And you can also harvest materials from the "mega-beast" that will show up at some point during the game. There are also smaller minis you can add to your team for some scenarios, such as prospectors and little support bots (that I forget the name of already). Rules seem fairly light, at compared to to a full minis game like the full Infinity game. So to get going, here are the minis in the core box. You get 4 PVC TAGs, one for each of the 4 mining corps. These are fully assembled and look pretty clean. A quick once over doesn't show any mold lines or anything. So I'm hoping to get these primed up this weekend, as I have a mess of SW Legion bases that need priming as well (and possibly some figs for another new WIP......). The other PVC "mini" is the Mega-Beast that comes with the core box, the Stoorworm. It's not small. The base is 6 inches from point to point, the same size hex as the game tiles as it basically pops up and fills in one of the holes you leave in the map. It's between 6 and 7 inches high. It comes in two pieces and it would be nice (for transport) to be able to leave it as two pieces, but the connection is fairly loose. So I'm thinking magnets to the rescue!! And then there is a the big bag of metal. I haven't even opened it yet. Infinity minis are really known for being easy to assemble, traditionally. Lots of wrist and ankle connections and the like. I'm hoping these are better, and the bits I can see through the look to have some decent sockets and the like. So hopefully! As this was a Kickstarter, there is a whole other box, an bunch of KS exclusives, another big Mega Beast, and then a whole bunch of TAGs from the normal Infinity game (which they provide cards for, so you can use them in this game too). Here's a pic of everything.
  2. I was thinking of some kind of playful title for the force, like "The Foxes That Yip At Night" or something more mysterious like "Crescent Moon Foxes" but in all honesty, I haven't really figured out a name for this force. This is a continuation of a previous thread where I set a goal to finish 20 minis in twenty weeks, but only wound up doing one. Eh, world doesn't end, goal with that was to paint, and I did. This thread is a breakoff out of that one, because I want to have my HaqqIslam force to have it's own thread, and can also give them a tad more room on my painting desk thanks to recent changes I've done (I have another three whole feet of desk I can work with that's focused on being a "build-up" area, which I've already found has had me tidying things up a tad more AND given me the ability to have room to sit down and do ANY kind of hobbying for even just 15-20 minutes, be it assembly, cleanup, (hopefully) sculpting, and/or painting. To those wondering, in a standard 300/6 game, there's no way to field all of the units pictured here. A small part of why I've picked up what I have is due to sales, a desire for a few minis before they fall out of circulation (since some when purchased had been discontinued five years prior), and a desire to be able to readily try out either mixed tactics with a vanilla HaqqIslam army, or to be able to try out one of the three main sectorials (Hassassin Bahram, Qapu Khalqi, or Ramah Taskforce). At some point the Hassassin starter pack will be added in, as well as probably another boxed set or two (I'm looking at you, Zhayedans, Khawarijs', and Muttawi'ah's... Oh, and blisters like the Hunzakut, Ayyar, Ragiks, and the Odalisque with Spitfire rescuplt to name a few) but a lot of that is mainly due to a desire for "completion" or just to have a nice looking force to choose from. Or something - I am an indecisive fox after all ^So here's where things stand at the moment. First pic has most of the Red Veil and Beyond Red Veil boxed sets in it, while the second is a combination of Azra'il (the two big guys on 40mm bases) and the Qapu Khalqi starter force. The reason why the ones that haven't been painted yet have milky looking bases is these pics were taken shortly after sealing those bases with watered town Tacky Glue. Apologies for the out of focus photos, I wanted group shots, and was tired when I took them, and phone kept fighting me about what to focus on. ^Still to assemble we have these pieces. I'm really looking forward to building up that Maghariba Guard (aka murder scorpion! ...Or Maggie, as many local players call it), but those Bashi Bazouks (in the blisters at the bottom) I'm also rather curious about.
  3. So, a little over a year ago I got my paws on a decent amount of MDF terrain, specifically with the goal of using it to build up a nice Infinity board. After narrowing it down, I wound up ordering some things from Warsenal as well as Global Evil Corp. Warsenal was because I loved the look of their Cosmica Line, and Global Evil Corp because I absolutely love kerf cuts and the fact they utilized such to have ROUNDED CORNERS on buildings. Oh yeah, and the sliding windows and doors gimmick was a pretty big draw too. Last month my goal was to get it all primed, because I was tired of the raw MDF, plus I wanted to use it as inspiration to keep moving on my Infinity miniatures... This month I'm going to see what can be ^Let's just say there's a semi-reasonable amount of terrain involved.... ^An okay amount for a diverse, two level 15 point (Code One) or 150 point (N4) field, although I could use a few more options... But definitely not much in the way of full on variety for a full on 30 point (Code One) or 300 point (N4) 4x4' table. ^Before I forget, this is what attaches on to that cube frame. Looks so much nicer built up, even if I uh, haven't built the last panel yet due to lack of space on the desk. ~ Anyways, they've been raw MDF for far too long in my opinion, so let's get things staged over by the airbrush.... ^Mr Hobby Mr.Almighty clips are rather handy.... ^And primed. Yup, classic black primer with a white "zenithal" (for lack of better words) across things. ^After a few hours, we now have this. Okay, stage is set, but it feels like something is missing.... ^Aha, looking a lot better. Initially I was going to try and go crazy on the colours for the exterior, but hubby and I just like the basic light kinda blue colour we've got going, so onwards to accents... (Colours used: Mission Models Blue, with a small amount of black added in, as well as a reasonable amount of white - goal was for a bit of a greyish blue, and while I didn't quite get it how I wanted, eh, close enough and we like it) ^Decided to show the roof progress a little more in depth here, partially because I remember @Kangaroorex inquiring about the opacity of those Wicked Colours Opaque colours. The Dioxazine Purple I think was five drops of colour with two drops of Vallejo Thinner Medium, and on the right I had a moderately wet hybrid brush that was dipped into paint, and then traced along. Not sure what happened on the right side, but somehow I managed to go almost all the way around without running out of paint, but I also wasn't able to repeat it, although it was only a few inches before it started becoming see through. I'll still try to remember to do an actual test over white paper with print at some point. ^Now, as for those roofs... Sure, I could mask things, or even create a airbrush template, and I might still, but at the same time... The basic blocks have been laid down, with Wicked Opaque Pthalo Blue on the inner triangle like bits, Wicked Opaque Pyrrole Orange on the inner thin line, and Wicked Opaque Dioxazine Purple on the outer line. What's the current plan? Well, naturally I'm going to get the basic colours laid down on the rest of the items, but I'm going to test out Pthalo Blue on a roof section to see what thoughts are. Originally, the two lines that go around each building were going to be orange, but after a quick though they're going to be purple. Warsenal stuff will see more oranges and reds, as well as purples to them, at least that's the current main plan ^_^;;;
  4. I found this guy sitting unassembled in a box while I was cleaning. So I built and painted him even though I stopped playing infinity years ago. And a shot of him next to my old skiavoros
  5. So, a little while ago I had these two lovely packages come in because I wanted to give the new "rules condensed" version of Infinity a go, and sadly neither the HaqqIslam I use or the Ariadna hubby uses for N3 are in Code One, so.... Well, as one might expect, we wound up picking up a new starter box, because of various reasons. Anyways, Yu Jing was always my second choice for an army, and Rune liked the new look for the PanOceania figures, so that made life moderately easier.... Keen eyed observers will notice that Rune's PanO aren't getting as many units. Well, yeah, there's a partial reason for that - I had a basic idea already of what I wanted with my Yu Jing for N3, specifically that of being able to field the Invincible Army sectorial at some point due to my LOVE of their heavy infantry, and since pretty much all of the models I was looking at are usable in Code One that pretty much sealed the deal for me right then and there... Obviously more will be added in for Rune's side as he plays the game more, and figures out what kind of units he would like (and likes the look of). ^So a few days ago this is where things were at, after the use of a pair of GreenStuffWorld rollers, specifically Runes (for, uh, Rune's PanO), and Small Cobblestones (for my Yu Jing), and after several hours of assembly over three nights if I remember correctly, here's where things were... ^And phase one of basing complete. Vallejo terrain goop, I love you. Okay, I'll admit, I wound up covering up more details than I had originally planned, but such is life - some of the original elements are still there, which is good enough in my opinion, at least for now. I'll still get the basic idea across, although with some of them it's more going to be easter eggs in the bases, but such is life. ^And a blurry shot of how things look at the moment, with phase 2 of the basing. Essentially, I wound up using that mix of four different types of ballast that I'd created a decade and a half ago (I mixed up a LOT of it o_O) to help even out the transitions, as well as any garish spots where the terrain paste didn't quite solidify how I was thinking it was going to... And also as a bit of an element to tie both factions together, since they're both technically fighting over Svarlheim, or however it's spelt Yeah, I know it's yet another WIP thread for me, but my Infinity focus shifted from N3 to Code One for the moment due to smaller table size, and newer, more streamlined rules. That and a desire to give these minis a shot, and to hopefully see about painting them faster than my usual pace
  6. The Al Fasid, also known as "The Corrupted", are HaqqIslam's heavy troopers that will get the job done no matter the cost. Their methods aren't always the prettiest, and they're never the stealthiest, and they have their own tricks they bring with them to the table. They don't care about glory, and are solely chosen for their solid record of getting the job done. Some enjoy it, some are in it for the solid paycheque, and others do it because the only thing theyy know what to do is fight. Today I have the HMG version, who also conveniently carries a grenade launcher that can shoot either regular grenades to keep enemy heads down, or smoke grenades to provide additional cover. Oh, they also pack anti-personnel mines with them too... Since the "tactical rock" under his right foot kind of looked rather strikingly like the backpack for a Yu Jing (even though I'm not having any luck finding models to confirm this), I decided to try and test out my planned colour scheme for them. That's right, I'll be going with a dark raver / cyberpunk burnt neon pink for their general colour, because why not - I'm going with hot orange for my Haqq...
  7. Hubby doesn't like painting the smaller figures, which is fine by me, but we both would like his force for Infinity to be painted, aaaand I just so happen to want to paint the Ratnik. That's right, I spent $100 CAD on a boxed set where half the minis will be staying on a shelf for a while, and the other half are there to accompany the one mini I really wanted to paint. Okay, there's also the fact there's an Ariadna starter in there, but still :P So first and foremost, we have the minis from Coldfront + Beyond Coldfront assemble and based, which some would say is always a good start. I'm not going to argue with them Mission Models primer! I think it was something like 16 parts Grey Primer to 4 parts Black Primer, with four or five drops of thinner - I was aiming for slightly darker than grey, but not too too dark. Just enough to give some basic details. Bleached Linen drybrushed on to help bring out the details, then I think it was Citadel's Drakenhof Nightshade, uh, shade... Then Void Blue for the obviously blue bits. Then the Ratnik got a mix of Void Blue and Dragon Black on some of the armour panels and weaponry, followed by a healthy dose of Secret Weapon's Hard Body Black Wash. Okay, looks like this fox overdid it a bit, as some things show rather black, but I'll live. It at least gives me a basic idea of where I am, and where I'm going, which is arguably the most important to me Here's a closer look at the Scout (on the left) and Veteran Kazak. They've received a bit of that Void Blue / Dragon Black mix in crevices if I remember correctly.... Oh yeah, there's also a bit more in the queue for him too... ^USAriadna starter box (for now he's said he'll paint the antipodes (werewolves), but if he asks me to paint them, I'll paint them ^Support pack (112 Medic... ON A BIKE!), Line Kazaks (additional weaponry for the "basic" troopers), Scout with AP Sniper, Blackjacks with Sniper (big shooty thing!), and a Hardcase Frontiersmen with a Tactical Bow. Initial focus is going to be on the Coldfront minis, and getting things sorted out so we both have a starter set of miniatures we can game with
  8. Being that this is the figure that was the biggest reason why I picked up the Hassassin Bahram Sectorial Starter Pack (say that three times fast ), I was suspecting he'd wind up on my painting desk sooner or later... I just didn't realize he'd have the honour of being the first finished this year, as well as my first finished Infinity miniature! At some point in the near future I'll acquire some S2 holoprojector tokens for him, as actual 3D representations are nice. Not sure where from, but I like my current Art of War Studios things, so probably theirs. Oh, and for those who might be curious, that's a Global Evil Corp UniPod with two StairPods (well, one pack) in the first three pics, fourth one is a DuoPod with a StairPod alongside it. Sadly no magnets yet for the terrain, but they're on the way, and will get here at some point
  9. So while I have painted other miniatures, this was my first Infinity model I have painted, and I want to emulate the box art in the style of Angel Giraldez. Here is the finished result. There are still a couple of details here and there that I could have touched up, but at some point you have to call it "done" and this was about as far as my patience was willing to carry me. Overall, I really enjoyed painting this miniature and I felt like I learned a lot about edge highlighting, darklining, and working in the initial contrast values. The Work In Progress thread is over here, for anyone interested seeing the process of this miniature along the way.
  10. Every now and then I've seen people start up a WIP thread that's more or less along the lines of "clean the shelf of (blank)". For me, it's of hopes and dreams, of projects started, but not quite realized, finished, or... Even painted. This isn't necessarily going to be one of those more serious minivember, one mini a day, or even a burn towards the finish line to actually "complete" the one a week RPChallenge, uh, challenge. That and while I'd love to do minivember or even 99 minis in 99 days both of those seem a tad too... Intense for me. Especially with how often I get distracted from such with playing computer games, longer days at work, or even starting to have a social life! (Yeah, some of the Infinity gamers in town are starting to slowly coax me into coming out to play and do things, it's kind of nice!) To meet my own goal this year of beating 2018's count, I'd need another "14 points". Coincidentally, that's fairly close to the mark of 18 for October through December, so I figure why not! ...I guess I am going for the RPChallenge bit after all, but I'm going to give a whirl at a full twenty, because I like that number more than 14 or 18! In short, my goal is to try and clear some of the assembled and primed backlog I have, and focus on mainly getting those painted up and FINISHED. Naturally I'm not going to lock out the prospect of adding in a few more minis to the table (I am more than likely going to be building up a tournament HaqqIslam force for February 2020, which will require more units to be acquired, assembled, and painted), but as for some of the things that come to mind for being taken care of... Getting Wyrmgear's mods sculpted - I really would like to see him at least standing up at the end of the year Additional work on my Rainbow Dragon Challenge Ebonwrath - he's taking up a decent amount of space on my desk, plus, hey, DRAGON! Infinity Red Veil, and Beyond Red Veil boxed set - at least the HaqqIslam portion, anyways, although I'd like to at least get the Yu Jing assembled and based too Various CAVs in various states Other, smaller dragons! (Pathfinder Red Dragon, Temple Dragon, and I think I have a Narthrax hiding around somewhere too) minotaurs, gnolls, and some Skaven character/heroes A few minis that have become "paint catchers" for when I mix up too much There's probably more, but still. I'm not going to keep a full on tally of things, but either way, I'm hoping to work on, and finish, at least 14 "points" worth of minis, but 18 "points" would be awesome... Or even more. Apparently, as of this post, there are ten weeks and four days until the end of 2019. What am I mostly aiming for by doing this thread? Well, by having a WIP I'm regularly updating, I'm hoping to not only get more work done close to every day on miniatures (even if it's just twenty minutes), but also get back into the habit of sitting down and hobbying every day. I really do like how relaxed I am when doing it, and it helps me cool and calm down too. That and, oh yeah, I already mentioned the habit thing. Anyways, I did mention something else in the beginning of all of this about something silly, well... Let's put it this way.... ^I was okay with some of them trying to teach others how to "roll over" and "play dead", even if it meant my Switch is a little harder to get to.... I was even okay with some of them guarding one of my spare graphics cards, and the Mission Models iridescent and pearl paints... ^Yup, even didn't really mind them taking over a shelf in my cube shelf (there are more minis hiding in the ice cream pail, they're in there due to having been washed) - Actually, this helped kickstart me being able to paint again, since ALL of those were on my desk before tidying up... But once you try and hold my benching rig hostage.... Or you try to do dark rituals around my turntables... Oh no, this needs to be stopped. if I let them continuing running amok, they'll try and take over the entire living room! (there were additional pics, but it kind of felt like things were dragging on). ^So... Here's how my desk looked last time I tidied it up. It looks a little different, and somewhat messier now, but that's because I have a few projects on the go that I was working on before this post. Not all of the minis in that picture are mine (the Pathfinder Red Dragon belongs to hubby, for example) but still. There's a decent amount of stuff on the table, to say the least. ^So here's where I left off two days ago - I apparently didn't take a picture of yesterday's table, but there were two more Haqq minis done, and I suspect that's also simply because we played Division 2 for like two hours yesterday, then I worked on minis, then I went to bed rather tired... ^And how things are looking so far today. All seven minis from the Operation: Red Veil started set are now assembled (although they'll be an eighth one added in eventually due to having been sent a double by accident - Corvus was quick and prompt when replying on their mispack line... Err, email), and bases for the three miniatures from Beyond Operation: Red Veil are drying, so they'll be assembled tomorrow. The reason why the seventh guy doesn't have anything extra on his base yet is quite simply because I'd assembled him tonight. I'm not quite sure what kind of colours I'll be going with on my Haqq, but I strongly suspect they won't really be all that traditional, or at least studio paint jobs. Totally lost on what colours I'll be going with for the Oathsworn Minotaur as well, but I'll worry about that when I get to that front - today's focus was assembly and basing.
  11. So finally got around to finishing up a project now that I am fully moved into the new home and work is settling down a bit. This is the first of two Desperadoes that come in the box. One cool thing about the Infinity line (imho) is that the two bikers are completely different, even the bikes are different. Just nice from a variety standpoint. These guys are described as bikers first, soldiers second, so I decided that even though he is technically military, that he would have a little bit of bling on his bike. This guy is my usual table-top quality as that's really about as good as it gets for me at this stage, but I am always looking for any comments, critiques, suggestions, etc. There are parts in a lot of my projects now where I feel the improvement and others that still show me my newbieness. The leather on the hat, coat and gloves was done using the Oiled Leather triad. I'm not a huge fan of the Burnt Orange for the highlight, but even though I had issues with the blending (a notable issue I have in general) I think it kinda/sorta worked here for the items. It just makes them look a bit rougher, which I think is ok, at least from a table top standpoint. Finally, based on a suggestion from my last bike that I did, I added some of the terrain color to some of the lower parts of the bike to show that he's been riding through the cracked earth desert for a while, etc. Please let me know your thoughts on this as this was kind of a blind experiment for me. Too much? Too little? Should I have simply glazed it on instead? As I said, I'm always looking for suggestions as I very, very slowly improve. :) As always, thanks for any and all comments, suggestions, critiques, etc.!
  12. Hi everyone! As some of you know from watching my progress over in the WIP section of the forums, I've been busily working away on Cordelia! This super cute and characterful little mini was an absolute blast to paint, and I appreciated everyone's advice and encouragement! So, without further ado, here's my cyberpunk version of Cordelia, now to be known as Synth-ia! Once again, thank you so much to everyone who followed along at home!!!
  13. Hi all! So, I keep putting off and putting off posting with as busy as I've been lately, but I really want to get back to using the forums more. Therefore, here's my newest project! She's just for fun with no real competitions or games planned for her, but I've loved this rather simple Infinity sculpt for quite a while and finally wanted to get some paint on her! Also, her base is made of of plasticard and window screen, if anyone is wondering.
  14. Hi guys, So I got a greater number of Infinity Aleph minis from a guy who doesn't find them fit to his playstyle. Anyway - I decided to create my own bases, opposite to the clean and attractive style of the Aleph minis using some kind of a long lost and ruined city. Like this: I also got Atalanta and her SpotBot and I think that this spotbot has quite a personality and I want to create his base accordingly. (Picture for reference) So I thought that it would be fitting to have some kind of robot head or so he could stare at. (Like to 2b in the picture below - but being a mechanical rabbit with sad eyes). So I thought about using a space marine head but I don't find it fitting to the whole setting and it would just disappear between the rubble and the debris I prepared for the base. And it wouldn't match the style of Infinity. On the other hand - I tried using a bandai mecha/gundam head and it is way too big for a 25mm base. Does anyone have an idea which could help me solve the problem?
  15. SKU: CVB280183 First time attempting to paint glass and I think it came out . . . okish. Not great, but not bad for a first effort. Need to work on the blending, but have gotten some tips to help with that. As always C&C are most welcomed as I am always looking for ways to improve on my skills since currently about the best I can hope for is table top quality (and I even occasionally succeed ;P) Thanks for looking! Gargs
  16. SKU: CVB280176-0580 My Devil Dogs Team, part of the USARF Starter Box by Corvus Belli. Who doesn't like a gun toting werewolf and his sidekick? As always, any and all C&C is greatly appreciated as I am constantly looking for pointers on how to improve! Thanks for looking! Gargs
  17. http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2017/07/mv-challenge-2017.html?m=1 Peace and blessings, brothers and sisters. The crew at Massive Voodoo have let loose their call for their 2017 Challenge. The crew at Massive Voodoo set out challenges to their viewers in order to push our abilities past our comfort zone. This year they have two (2) Challenges for us! 1. Create a base using water effects. 2. Paint a Disney Infinity character. There are limitations in this challenge - like on the basing Challenge: the goal is to create a base with a water effect, not to focus on a figure. They said we can use a small animal to accent the base, and Reaper has some awesome Familiars we can use. Also, Infinity Challenge is one figure, not multiple, which allows us to focus doing our best on one figure. Full details can be found by clicking on the link. I heard that little voice too: "I cannot win this! Why should I even try?" Well shut the front door little-voice-in-my-head! I know I have much to learn and improve in my own Art, which is why this is a Challenge. We cannot lose: we win just by pushing past our comfort zone and learning more about our beloved hobby. :D I said it before and I will keep repeating it: I believe in you. I see the awesome work you all do, and you believe in me too. That love helps me believe in myself and makes me want to work harder to push past my own limits. Plus we get to paint a character from the Disney franchise - which includes Marvel and Star Wars! I didn't even consider painting these as well as playing with them! ( Don't judge too harshly. Elsa kicks butt.) For a full list of characters available, check 'em out here: http://www.portalcharacters.com/disney-infinity/figures.asp You can find them individually and inexpensively on eBay. Now, if you will excuse me: I have some Reaper Familiars to peruse. :D May your efforts be rewarded and blessed!
  18. When I was getting the equipment to photograph my Valkyria Chronicles Figures, I stumbled upon those figures which have been standing on my miniatures shelf for quite some time. I painted them almost a year ago, when I by chance got a hold on some Infinity miniatures. I didn't know much about those absolutely detailed figures. I had mostly done heroic style miniatures and 20mm stuff, so this was quite a new thing for me. I didn't own an airbrush by that time and I never had used paint diluted enough to not cover up any details. But I wanted to paint them, as they really looked awesome. So I tried my best, spend hours and hours of watching tutorials on how to paint such miniatures, which mostly included airbrush priming and stuff. But as I couldn't get hold one one, I had to try in my own way. And it seemed that the goddess of luck smiled at me. I had never before felt such a rush of happiness when I painted miniatures and the way of diluting paint back then is the one I still use. I was especially proud of the faces and the skin, which to this day I never managed to get so smoothly done again. The bases themselves were made using putty, a sponge and a knife. And then there is a story about the guy in the center. I originally had intend to copy Roy Revant from the Solty Rei anime series, who looks like this ... Well, I thought I had done a pretty good job, I told my mum about it and the next time I was home again I showed the figures to her. She started to laugh uncontrollably and then cried a bit. I didn't get it in the first place. But then, she showed an old picture from one of her albums, a picture taken somewhen during the early seventies at a German Army mobile anti-aircraft radar station. It was that moment I actually realized that I hadn't recreated the face of Roy Revant, but that of my late father when he was young. With the same look and smile. After that we laughed for some time before I decided I would never repaint that miniature until the end of my life. I later bought the same figures to recreate them with the knowledge I've got nowadays, but still - I guess those will forever have their special place on my miniatures shelf.
  19. Another one for Patrons this month. It's been so long since I have painted an Infinity model, I'd forgotten at how beautiful the sculpts really are. I pulled inspiration from Akira since the bike reminded me so much of those comics. This one was easy to paint, and since it was Infinity I had to go NMM and I did my best to match the quality of Angel Giraldez. I'm not sure if it was mission accomplished...
  20. Hello everyone, here's a project that I've been working on for over a year! I actually got Operation Icestorm, way back when it was released, and now it's done, including the CSU, which I had to hunt down since there was a preorder error that resulted in my order not being treated like a preorder by a distributor. Long story short, I didn't work on it for a while, then took my time getting it done! A special thank you by the way to SGHawkins, who helped me track the CSU mini down. I decided to go very naval military on the Pan-Oceania team, dark blue with a few key accents to match the original designs. For Nomads, seeing as they're just basically Australia 2.0 in space with hackers and punk rock, I went with bright orange, purple, white and fun hair. They've also got gloss on the guns, since I was trying to mimic the original IPod for their weapons, and it will help the two teams stand out since this is a starter box so I could teach the game as well. The Whole Box Nomads Pan-o Fusiliers Auguacles ORC Trooper and Mobile Brigada Akalis and Spektr Nisse and Grenzer Reverend Healer and Father Knight CSU Feel free to ask questions!
  21. Painted this for the leader of my friends elect band in "this is not a test" my first infinity miniature and I must say they are very nice
  22. Last one from me before a week holiday and then back to work, so possibly very little painting time agan This one is slightly older, but still one of my favourites. Also one of the favourites at my local gaming store. My Yu Jing HVT, the Dragon Lady, Imperial Service Judge I wanted her to stand out a little from the actual troops, so I spent a while doing freehand work on her, Nothing fancy, but I think it works I also tried to paint a scene on her parasol Now to finish the rest of my Yu Jing.... you can sort of see the one and only other painted model from my force so far just off to the side in the photos ^^;
  23. In anticipation of the new rules edition coming out, as well as the rpg next year, let's get an Infinity thread going. This thread will be for gameplay/news/chatter on that kind of topic. For painting/conversion/etc kind of discussion, please head over to the Infinity WIP thread in the appropriate subforum (and remember to post finished work in individual Show Off threads). To continue the discussion on the Operation Icestorm starter box... I dig the story and look of the Nomads, but looking over the box set rosters it seems to favor PanO to my newb eye. Things like the Orc getting 1 more BS than the Mobile Brigada, which in turn gets an extra WIP. Since I'm a newb to the rules, I'm not sure how that balances or where they've put in the balances across the rosters. But it seems that for the scope of the box missions it favors PanO in several places. Thoughts? I'm hoping my gaming buddy digs the rules/aesthetic as he used to run Eldar in WH40k in the 90s. We'll probably run the starter missions to get used to the rules with some proxies until I can get painting the forces up (which will surely be another test of balancing speed against my seeming inability to paint to tabletop!).
  24. At the rate I'm painting, I might just have enough Infinity minis painted to play a game early next year. Today I present my latest tabletop Nomad. While I used the same paints on her as the previous one, the red highlights are wider and she doesn't appear as dark as her male counterpart. And a shot of the homemade base, similar style as the previous one.
  25. Another one that I finished back in May. I have to say she is one of my favorites that I have done. I wanted to do a twist on her typical color scheme of blue armor, red cloth, and blonde hair so I went with white armor, blue cloth, and red hair. It was a gamble but I am so happy with how the white armor turned out. Also her sword was my first attempt at NMM since I first tried it a few years ago. There are definitely areas that needed more work but I finished her about 5 hours before leaving for a convention and I needed sleep. In my mind, she was definitely a level up paint job for me. At the convention she got 2nd place in SciFi Single and Judges Choice.
