  1. The year is halfway over! What do you want to achieve this month? Here's my list: - Get blog going again. - Finish editing photos from last November >.< - Paint Bones Sphinx (by August 4). - Figure out how many other projects I have to do (that aren't already on the table) and give them time lines. - Figure out a giveaway for 1000 followers on IG.
  2. Blah, can't win lately. Please see the main post here for rules, questions and general chatter, while using this thread to keep a list of links to your show-offs or show-off related comments in a single post: A reminder to please adhere to miniatures posting guidelines as usual. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/72577-resolutionary-painting-challenge-2017-chatterquestions/ All the information you need should be here. Due to the revised format, there will be more than one bonus challenge available for this month. Including a "Hard mode" which Is some combination that may or may not have a source behind it. Your challenge is: 9! Bonus Challenge: The First! Oh Rats - July 22nd Is attributed as Ratcatcher's Day due to the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. There's too much folklore to get into here - so let's see a ROUS or two! Bonus Challenge: The Second! Richard Nixon made proclamation 4071 as National Clown week. The challenge is to make a character that's not sculpted as a clown, to have the garish appearance of one. (I would say the style of Killer Klowns from outer space works here too) Hard Mode Challenge! Let's combine two of our favorite things, difficult colors and transparent cloth! Paint a mini of your choice using either Red or Yellow transparent cloth. (or is the term Translucent? I don't remember, I'm not done with my first pot of coffee yet.) Good luck
  3. Again with the theme of " 'Murica" for July, I tried to go as about cliche as possible, and actually had a bit of fun with the freehand. The gold freehand on the boots fell flat. And I have determined I have a ....disagreement with tanned skin, but otherwise I'm fairly pleased with conveying the absolute "redneck" nature of the figure, albeit unsure if i should put her in the Inspiration Gallery...I might need to do something because that Right knee (figure's right) doesn't have that dark mark in hand, just a weird trick of the photo, I think...
  4. A quick paint while trying to base a semi realistic poison pattern on the carapaces... I think I should probably hit it with some gloss sealer to help it pop.
  5. So finally getting my lazy butt to break out the photo booth..1/5 for the July Challenge. I still find DMM my bane (Should really look into shaded metallics) and this figure is completely, not-at-all spun off of Iron Patriot for the July Theme.
  6. Here they are!!! I ended up having to speedpaint Snap and Crackle to get them ready for the game today, so they're not nearly as amazing as Pop. But, whatcha gonna do? I'm kind of glad they're done, as I have an elf-ton of minis to paint up for Hoard of the Dragon Queen and only 3 weeks to paint them!!! Hope y'all enjoy!
  7. Seriously, I love these minis. I kick myself all the time that I didn't pledge for this. Not that I even knew what KS was at the point in time that this one closed... but I should have known!! Anyways, I think she turned out pretty well. I am still having some trouble blending shadows, but I can tell it's better than before. So I'm gonna just keep blending, just keep blending, just keep blending, blending, blending. Her hair is subpar. I know. It was a lack of interest. I have a really bad habit of losing interest the closer to the finish line I get. Especially right now when I'm only getting a few hours a week to paint. I just want to get SOMETHING done... And the mini suffers. So lay the guilt on me. Like I said in my blog post, it's the only way I'll learn. C&C is always welcome, y'all enjoy!
  8. Alrighty, due to popular demand, this is Pop. He is a magma mephit, and one of Kos' 3 mephits I'll be painting up. The other 2 will be red and blue flames respectively. Hubs wanted him on some green crystals, so I did my best. And these guys have a wicked lean that boiling just doesn't fix. I had to weight their bases to make them stand up. Hope y'all like him! C&C is always welcome!
  9. This is the Hub's mini for D&D. He is a fire cleric and has mephits named Snap, Crackle, and Pop that fly around and cause mischief. He was a pretty cool guy to paint. C&C always welcome!
  10. I originally posted the WIP over here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60174-mage-knight-orcs-conversionrepaint/?hl=%2Bmage+%2Bknight+%2Borcs Two of them are still being worked on, but I finally finished this guy off.
  11. I repainted this DDM figure to go along with my other Bones goblins. He's pretty close to the right size, and he adds a little variety to the group.
  12. I picked this fellow out of the Box of Goodwill when it got back to me. It had already been worked on 'with some enamels a long, long time ago' by Thes Hunter. I liked the look of what was already going on, so I made a few tweaks and did a few touch ups to finish him off.
  13. I had a great time doing this up. I wasn't sure how I wanted to base it since it was too big for a medium base and too small for a large base. So I used my (very) limited greenstuff skills to make the sand, and then stuck tentacles and a branch into it! Hope y'all like it! C&C always welcome!
  14. Technically a little late to launch, but better late than never! Please see page 1 here for rules and guidelines/questions. This is also the chatter thread here: The first post as linked will contain the updated totals and grand total pending and the plan is to start getting the graphics sent to all who have completed the months so far soon http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58628-resolutionary-painting-challenge-chatterinfo-thread/ Also, please only create a single index post for your links. This means to modify your existing post when you get a new figure finished instead of posting a new one. This month's challenge is: 5. ...because you have the 24 hour paint challenge this month too, it really should be doable. Bonus Challenge is: The deadline Is planned for August 1 Midnight, RST. (Reaper Standard Time).
