I will paint and create a Reptilian Army pure for fun. It will consists of many different kind of Reptiles and Amphibians. Mostly Snakemen, Lizardmen, Frogmen, Dragonmen, Turtlemen, Fishmen, Dinosaurs and Insects. I will happily include any monster I think will fit. A Tarrasque will be the centrepiece at some sort as the Living Lizard God. I do not play any games, so this will be pure for my own and (I hope your) fun to create. EDIT: The above was my original plan, over time and thanks to the comments made by other Forumites, this has developed into a story. This resulted in more Factions I wanted to build and paint, so this Project now also includes Pirates, Conquistadores, Native Warriors based on Inca/Aztec/Maya cultures. EDIT: And now it will also include Undead! *********** Captain Luigiano and his army had been travelling through the jungle for weeks now. The sunlight was blocked by the dense canopy of trees. Some of the men had contracted fever, and those darn mosquitos were a big nuisance! He looked at the golden plaque he had obtained. Gold, with a snakeman made out of gems on it. With this he had convinced the men to follow him. Somewhere in this accursed jungle there was a city made of gold, he was sure of it. They would conquer this city and become rich beyond belief. He looked at his army, they even had a few cannons. Nothing would stop them! Finally they reached a clearance. The men were pleased, at least they could see the sun again. They took a rest and a drink, tended to the sick. Suddenly they heard a loud roar from the other side of the clearing. Birds flew away, trees where falling! Some poison darts flew and two soldiers fell, they died before they hit the ground. A loud roar and an enormous terrifying Lizard appeared. One soldier died out of fear from just looking at it. Then the Reptilian Horde emerged from the Jungle. **************************

Abandoned Jungle Shrine
Chaoswolf posted a topic in Works in Progress: Sculpts, Conversion, Terrain.
So, I'm pretty bad at WIPs; either I lose interest and the thread just withers away, or I forget to document half the steps. The latter is what happened in this case. So, last year st Reapercon, I was given a box full of broken/misprinted/can't be sold miniatures by one of the vendors. This snake demon lady was in it. She has one broken (and missing) arm. I was debating trying to sculpt her a new arm, but I decided instead to make her a statue. Turning the piece into an abandoned Jungle shrine is what I eventually decided to go. So, here's everything that happened to get to this state: used Gorilla glue to attach to a wooden base, laid down acrylic modeling paste for the groundwork, painted and flocked the groundwork, and then painted the statue. Painting the statue consisted of priming it, applying a quick and sloppy coat of dark gray, and then drybrushing it 3 or 4 times with successively lighter colors, ending with white. The next step was to dirty it up which I did ny applying numerous inks and washes to try and make the statue look like it's been exposed to the weather for quite some time. Next up is adding the jungle. See below for pics. -

These are from the Cuetzpal Kickstarter from Lost Kingdom Miniatures which I backed for a "few" lizardmen etc.. Part of my Lost World Project: WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ They will act as one of many Jungle Swarms. ***************** David Attenborough Voice: Hatching time! The mother of these little creatures laid her eggs in this carefully constructed nest some time ago and now the little ones are hatching. One could argue that it's a bad mother to leave her babies alone at a time like this, surely she should be there to protect them, right? Well, if you look at these little ones you can see that they have all the protection they need! Look at that armor, and that clubtail, now one could think these little herbivores to be harmless, but think again! If one should get too close to one of these little ankylodons they might use that clubtail, even at this age it's fully capable of shattering bones. Someone with a shattered leg wouldn't last long in this Jungle. It's best to leave these little ones alone! *************************

Full of treasures and gold if the rumours were true. Plant the Banner! Claim the Land! Hmmm, strange skeleton? What kind of animal was this then? Why is there a huge door with strange glyphs here? Wasn't totally happy with how this came out. I wanted a reptilian version of a tiger pattern for stalking in the jungle. Colour scheme worked I think and overall it's a great model but it has some issues I struggled with. It's not symmetrical, the ridges and scales on each side are in different places and don't align making the patterning problematic. That coupled with the fact that some of the larger scales fade out and a lot of the smaller scales are almost indistinct took some of the fun out if it. Normally I enjoy doing scales and applying washes and dry rushing as well as picking out patterns on individual scales but this was hard work. Will still make the kids worry when it hits the tabletop though 🙂

Anyone have any useful leads on a set of elves in tribal garb? I'm specifically looking for elves that would fit in a jungle, tropic, or coastal setting. Not looking for heavy armor. If there's some gender diversity in the set that's even more ideal. I could kit bash if needed, but trying to avoid that. Also looking for things that would fit well in scale with Reaper Bones' offerings. Have I made this easy enough for you all?

Drums! Tribal drums from the heart of the deepest jungles. The Goblins wage war. They spider heards will consume everything on its past and, when there's nothing left, they will leave the trees behind to invade the lands of men. Their Chief, riding the giant eight legged spider steed Sleipnir, is ready to lead them to victory. Here I wanted to try a particularly colorful palette to tap into the jungle theme. Maybe in that note it lacks a bit of green... first time I use this colored liquen. Maybe is too much? If you liked it, please consider following my instagram :D

Babar, Lord of the Jungle, ready to both smash and stun tespassers with his golden magnificence. 28mm scale resin miniature. Gold & green palette. My biggest issue: not jungly enough. I need more stuff to make plants and credible grass :s

These maginificent minis were donated by @malefactus to add to my Lost World Project. WIP Here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=109 Eureka Miniatures ( Pond Wars Range). I painted the Frog riders as Poison Dart Frogs and the Toad mounts as Bombina Orientalis ( Chinese Firebelly Toads). I had both as pets in my youth. Here is the unit, and in the latter pics on my Jungle Photobackdrop Board. EDIT : I wasn't completely satisfied with Red Frog, so a little Vallejo Heavy Warm Grey and some Reaper Sample Paint for his mouth.

Here my Mudcroack. Love the mini. Recently we have been playing the Tomb of Annihilation D&D campaign, based on the jungles of Chult, and we found many of these adorable frogmen creatures, Grungs. That motivated me to start working with Mudcroack despite having almost all the new GW goblins waiting. Well, frogs are usually green, jungles too, and it was all kinda repetitive; so I decided to use as little green as possible. For the basing I chose a resin scenic base that I adapted, and the "barbed bracken" plants from GW. Any feedback welcome, and if you want, please follow me on instagram at @albertnyarla

I have created a little diorama / terrain piece to go with my Lost World Project. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/81223-welcome-to-the-jungle-by-glitterwolf/ I used the base of Kaladrax Bones, now OOP to create some Aztec style ruins. The smaller Aztec ruin pieces are from Greenstuffworld. For the creatures in the murky river I used the Moray Eel of Reaper's 02948: Familiar Pack VII, sculpted a lungfish and some Trilobites myself ( almost invisible in the murky water as they should be.) and I sculpted a second eel. And a Bones Centipede 77427: Dungeon Vermin - Centipede . The Plantlife are the Plant Dragon and the Deathstar Lilies from Bones 77505: Dragon Plant and 77504: Death Star Lilies . The Triceratops cadaver is a plastic Triceratops skeleton which I fleshed out with putty. The little feathered raptors are Ral Partha Velocirapors and I used putty to give them feathers. There is a juvenile Barchiosaurus in the back he's from a Paint and Play set from Wild Republic. The Flying Creature is an OOP Metal Terradon from Games Workshop. The Giant Centipede is from Safari Toob Animals which I repainted. Thanks to @knarthex for providing me with flock, @strawhat for sending me the Toob Animals from which the Giant Centipede is now used, @TaleSpinner for his advice on sculpting feathers, I'm not superb good at it but I think it worked. @SisterMaryNapalm and @malefactus for their ongoing support and tips. Enjoy:

This is a little sideproject from my Lost World Project WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/& I think it deserves it's own WIP. It will be covered in the Lost World as well, but there it will be interrupted by the other things I paint and build there. With courtesy to @malefactus , @Peithetairosand @Chris Palmer for inspiring me with their awesome terrainbuilding. It all started when I noticed my spare base from Kaladrax. Kaladrax was put on a crypt as can be seen here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/77556-kaladrax-on-her-mausoleum-by-glitterwolf/ At first it was just an idea, putting some jungle stuff on that. But then things kinda got out of hand a bit. And some fericious foam cutting

I also painted this Plant Dragon to include in my Welcome to the Jungle diorama/terrain piece for my Lost World Project. Again, I thought it would be nice to show it off separately before it becomes part of the terrain.

I'm creating terrain for my Lost World Project. This whole piece is called Welcome to the Jungle WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/81223-welcome-to-the-jungle-by-glitterwolf/&page=7&tab=comments#comment-1774286 It is all part of my Lost World. I added a Juvenile Brachiosaurus, it is a plastic Paint and Play toy from Wild Republic and not a great sculpt, but I liked it enough to include it. The Terrain is not done yet, but I would like to share the finished Brachiosaurus with you. Hope you like it!

This is from Rackham/Confrontation an Ophidian Warrior. He is a Heavy Snake Infantryman for my Lost World. He originally came with a sword to put on his side, but I left it off. Liked him better this way. He is on a resin base from Micro Art Studio enhanded with Vallejo Still Water. WIP is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=136 On to the pics, some against my Jungle Backdrop Board. This Bones Lizardman with Spear was a gift from @Paradoxical Mouseduring a candy exchange where he and a few others guarded the candy. After an expirement in pink of which we shall never speak again, @malefactus gave me some advice and I went for a red with orange and yellow. The spear is still bendy, I don't mind the end of it, since that's a crooked branch, but the tip is a bit floppy as well. Anyway. Here is the latest warrior of my Lost World Project.
