  1. I don't do WIP's very often and I'm well into a couple of these guys. But I added a couple more as I started to base the first few so I figured I might as well. Maybe it will help me keep my focus. We have the 3 bones ogres from a kickstarter or two ago, the bones black preview ogre, metal Kagunk 2, and the bones 4 ettin. I may decide to add metal ogre chieftain (aka kagunk 1) as well as he is half finied on the shelf anyway, and metal Norr'Okk, if I can ever figure out what to do about his head. Also considering ordering the newer ogre chieftain, but we will see.
  2. Howdy, All Reaper this week... Kev! P.S. With that pale complexion he had to be tough...
  3. Finished this up late last night. Probably my favorite fig I've painted to date. There are a ton of little details all over, but since the fig is bigger than average, it was pretty easy to paint. I went with a green skin tone because my next planned adventure features a large mutant orc, so this fig worked perfectly for the brute. Critiques and advice are always welcome! Thank you!
  4. Finished with my latest show and will have at least two months before I'm in another. Figured out that having a nice hobby room all to myself didn't work so well as my wife would find things for me to do so that I didn't go in there and leave her feeling alone. Moved my big painting desk back out into the living room so progress should be fine and if she leaves, she's not upset about it. I had last stopped working on Yagun Oog well over a month ago, so I didn't want to try to jump back in on him right away. Last week saw the Hangout Mini of the Month was another ogre, Kagunk, so I ordered him and he arrived yesterday in the mailbox. After the show finished, I broke him open and began removing mold lines and smoothing things out. For a while it seemed this was going to take several days, but soon I was back in the rhythm and by the time I write this he is ready for a washing. As you can see, he is slightly large. In fact, I had to go scrounging in the cabinets to find something I could put him on to paint him. The jeweler's vice would sort of work, but without a tab that is problematic. Nope, he is going to get a glass jar of high quality olives and a lot of white-tack. He will see brown liner or primer tomorrow! Also going to have to figure out a base for him as the large 50 cm rounds I had donated by Jasper the 2nd are not quite big enough. He may get a slice of a cedar limb, we'll see...
  5. I wouldn't actually post this mini if it wasn't for the RP Challege. I started this at ReaperCon 2014 for Wappel's Shaded Basecoat class. I could never motivate myself to finish it. I finally slapped some more paint on it to call it done. I am happy to have it no longer in my to do pile.
  6. This is the only mini I got to work on last week. I like that there is a lot of fun detail in the mini, but there were lots lof little pock marks --- the left chest was particularly bad. Most of that his hidden by his shield. I haven't sealed him yet; I hope he looks a little smoother after I do. I think I overdid the highlighting on the blue straps on his shins and feet; I wanted the strappy texture to stand out. I'm pretty happy with how the shield turned out; both front and back. The shield was the first time I had to glue a mini together. Can you tell how messy I was with the super glue? I ended up using a lot, because the shield was supposed to have two nubs to fit into holes in the straps for gluing, but one of the nubs was missing. I'm not at the point of being comfortable with pinning or anything yet. I like the skulls and the monster head in the bad. I think it came out pretty good. Thanks for looking! Any comments are appreciated!
