  1. From the 10033, Mouslings Heroes Boxed Set here's; 03529B, Fenimore the Mousling Archer sculpted by Gene Van Horne.
  2. My eternal struggle with NMM. But I'm worse with metalics, so I have to improve at least one technique. I hope it looks like an armor to you. I painted this guy for friend - his PC C&C always welcome.
  3. I had never painted a Garrick the Bold (Sir Forscale) before, and since it seems everyone and their brother around here has, I thought it was about time I did too. Coincidently, I needed a knight for a new Frostgrave warband I was working on, so I thought it would be the ideal time to do a Garrick for myself. Since he is going to be fighting in colder climes, I first modified him by adding an old GW cape to the figure. Also, since he is going to be employed by a Sigilist wizard, I did some freehand lettering on his shield.
  4. With me being a bit more excited about all things Kingdom Death at the moment, I put this guy on the table. So far:- I'm getting a basecoat down on the cloth parts, we've got Vallejo Hexed Lichen, Vallejo Scarlett Red, Vallejo Royal Blue and Oiled Leather. Originally the Oiled Leather was just a step towards eventually orange stripes, but I'm really liking how it looks next to the purple, so they may stay.
  5. Hi All, I thought I'd give this popular little guy a quick lick of paint. Comments are always welcome, Thanks for looking!
  6. This guy was a lot of fun and, at the same time, very frustrating. I tend to assemble completely then paint. It's a personal preference, but this guy had enough gribbly bits that I felt I would do it a disservice. I'm very happy with how he turned out, even if the photos aren't as good as I'd like them to be. This is always a frustration with me, but these photos really don't do the poor soul any justice. The horse, however, is probably the worst thing in the figure, I used references, but still came out waaaay too flat, but it looks okay-ish all together. Dismounted:
  7. This one took a long time to complete. I claimed it finished two times, but got more feedback. Fixed a little here, added a little there.. And as they say; All good things are three. :)
  8. one of the batch of single minis. tried to get a little more depth out of the armor and weapon. this was a nice easy paint job, but not sure if this guy is so pose to be a thick human or a tall dwarf. I love the base on this guy. I started to cut him off and just paint the base and use it as a short flight of steps.
  9. This past week I started the Dark Heroes set from the Bones 1 KS, and painted the two knights: Mangu Timur and Ragnaros, Evil Warrior, from that set. I didn't attempt anything too fancy on them, just did them up for tabletop use. For the full step-by-step painting blog entry, please see: Mangu & Ragnaros
  10. Had lots of fun painting this, was supposed to be NMM gold practice for a future project. Any comments and critiques would greatly appreciated.
  11. I bought this mini in the late 80's when I was stationed at fort Bragg. it has been sitting in a box for a long time. I dreaded painting something that I had for so long in it's original condition, afraid I would make a mess of things. now that it is painted it has started to become one of my fav mini's. I think it shows true menace when viewed from the front. please feel free to give ideas on how to make it better. (I know the base is terrible, I will fix it later.)
  12. Showing off all the things I've painted recently (over the weekend, actually). As a note, none of them have finished bases - I'll do the bases later. Here's the Darksteel Knight (reaper, bones, 77148), and the Mithril Knight (reaper, bones, 77023). With the Mithril Knight, I'm not sure if he's "done" or not... I was thinking about darkening his sword's steel to make it stand out a little more (he looks almost too "washed out"), and perhaps adding some pale blue filigree to his armor... And maybe a thin coat of pearlizing stuff to his everything to really try to add to the "mithril" eff
  13. Hi everyone, Had this one for weeks and got to finalise him last weekend, happy about the brightness that grey undercoat gives.
  14. I haven't posted anything in a while so here goes I have been working on some small figures in between gaming. (gaming has been taking up most of my time.) I picked up the chaotic fighter bones mini and decided to paint him as if he were a warforged that had been made of copper and left to sit and tarnish for a long time, also I think he just looked good in all green. the knight is from the dragons don't share box set. (still trying to finish those things.) the skeletons being summoned are bones I think the name is summoning I love the way the necromantic magic can be seen in the mini again w
  15. I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: This is my very own Sir Forscale. I figured I had to have one. Somewhat of a quick fix.
  16. Below is my spring exchange sent to Fanguard "the god of exchanges" so the pressure was on. he wanted something,, and I quote "Maybe something inspired by "Fairy Tail" the anime/manga" So after doing some research and watching a number of Anime shorts online, I selected one of the main characters to emulate along with a background character. Of course I did not choose one of the "good" "guys", instead I went for one of the bad girls! Using 60129: Chelaxian Infernal Binder as the mini I give you Minerva Orlando of the Sabertooth guild! I tried to imitate he
  17. I wasn't sure where else to put this, but I was looking at the data card for the Knight (the iconic Templar CAV) and noticed that its LBGs are listed as L/R and its flamer is listed as R, meaning that the doubled-up weapon in the right arm is actually a combination flamer & laser, and the unique weapon in the left arm is a flamer. I always pictured the unique weapon as the flamer and the paired weapons as lasers. Of course, the way I just described it, there is a "stage left vs. my left" issue...the unique weapon would be in the CAV's right arm. Again, super minor issue - just t
  18. I feel a bit bad saying this, but since the Euro dropped in comparison to USD, I finally felt that it was worth it to splurge a bit on a mini I've always had my eyes on for a while: The casting is absolutely amazing; no mold lines to speak of, square slots fit like a dream. Only gap I see is in the two parts of the cape; I'll need to fill that before doing much else. Only boo-boo was the sword crossguard was snapped off... but I hate bits that fiddly anyways, and I was on the fence about adding it in. Dilemma solved. Assembled into all the major sections for now, need to think about wha
  19. I finished another trio of Talisman minis. I painted these pretty quickly, even the elementalist where I tried to be a little more creative. First up is the knight: It's a nice little figure. I did tint the metal purple and teal, though it isn't too obvious from the pics. I ended up going a little heavier with the black wash on the shield, that provided more contrast than the tint. I'm very happy with the colours of the cloak, I used the Reaper Spattered Crimson, Gory Red and Fresh Blood triad. This was one of the minis that was base coated black before my buddy bought them, so it took
  20. Presenting the Lord-Relictor, part of my Stormcast force from Games Workshops Age of Sigmar starter set, he's the "good guy" (he's wearing far too many bits of other peoples skeletons for me to actually consider him a good guy) counterpart of my previously shown-off Blood Secretor. Had a lot of fun painting him, apart from his ribbon-cape, hopefully no one can see any of the parts of it I left unpainted (just too hard to get into all the nooks and crannies). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  21. just a quick wip - still doing basecoating. Working out my colour scheme. I'm going to try to do the wizard's staff more like an icicle, we'll see how that goes lol
  22. Hi folks, This is Elena von Greifenfels, Knight of the Order of the Gauntlet. The miniatures is used by a my wive in my Tyranny of Dragons campaign. I love the miniature and there are lots of very great paintjobs for it here on the forums. So please enjoy another one. C&C welcome!
  23. Presenting a Kingsman, (magical, bio-mechanical soldiers that guard the Kings Realm from all intruders) from Kingdom Death. Struggled with his inner, light blue cape, I found the folds weird and couldn't get it shaded to my liking, but I think the rest came out nicely. Any comments or criticisms are, as always, greatly appreciated.
  24. Hello there Reaper pips. This is my third try using NMM technique. I would greatly welcome any critiques to help me improve. As usual please be as brutally honest as possible as it is not possible to hurt my feelings. Thank you very much in advance.
