  1. Blocking in some spectral colors on this bones figure, initial step. It's my second shot at this sculpt; the first one ended in a muddy mess. :)
  2. I present the Storm Knight by Kingdom Death. Fairly pleased with him, painting a cape made out of clouds was as difficult as I imagined, but I think I did okay. Slightly annoyed that you can't make out the water effects on his base though, it took a week to painstakingly slowly fill up that puddle! As always, all comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  3. Yep. Another Kingdom Death mini from me (can't get enough of the stuff at the moment), this time it's the fearsome Storm Knight:- Didn't get too far today though:- I've only managed to basecoat the steel and metallic blue parts in Nightmare Black. I think this is going to be an even harder project than I thought.
  4. So I bought minis for characters I have in a written rp that has literally zero use for minis. I bought them though, simply because I like to have little representations of my characters. This is one of said characters, and her name is Shana Holt. She is hopelessly in love with a guard captain, who belongs to Rob, called Simone, and she aspires to be noticed by her, to the point of a little bit odd. Janan, of course, is stood on a dragon head, but Shana is no dragon slayer, she's just a city guard - so Drifter helped me out by trimming the dragon head away from her foot, and then
  5. This guy is very fun and old school looking. My husband's mage just died (same day I finished him, check out my post on Iltheus if you are interested). So this was the replacement. Thought I better get him knocked out of the way early so he doesn't get played unpainted for too many weeks. Cloth was supposed to be white, not sure if it wasn't too gray. Talked my husband into red as the highlight color instead of blue. Nothing too special here, trying to get good highlights but sometimes not sure if it's overdone on the cloth and doesn't look silly and like too much contrast.
  6. So I finished my Sir Forscale He's been quite fun to paint because he doesn't have eyes, which just stress me out... And as I'm terribly grungy at times, I decided to make my dear little knight here nice and grotty too. My extremely makeshift backdrop is still going strong too =P He's painted with the following: GW's Citadel -Khorne Red -White Scar -Leadbelcher -Nuln Oil -Seraphim Sepia -Blood for the Blood God -Auric Armour -Runelord Brass and P3 -Thamar Black -Umbral Umber -Bloodtracker Brown -Cold Steel So eee =] I will make another backdrop at some p
  7. Hi again :) A commision work for a player :
  8. Hello/ This is my first post here, as i paint Reaper minis not so often, although i bought almost all girls from master series. But here she is, Monique de Noir, riding her chocobo mount =) You can vote here, if you liked this work http://www.coolminiornot.com/332099 And here you can see closeups and detail pics http://www.coolminiornot.com/332101 Hope you`ll like her.
  9. An Orky (GWorkshop Orc with two weapons) A Muddy Hedge Wizard Reaper 02905: Arthur Wanderhat A Ghost Knigget (GWorkshop Knight of the Realm) A Saffron Skink (GWorkshop Lizardman model) Yet another archer (GWorkshop Bretonnian) A GWorkshop Cold One Raptor Dinosaur Strangely these look better in the photo than in real-life. I am reasonably pleased with the big lizard. Some of the others the camera is being kind. I will try to get more pics Saturday. Link to June Page: Resolutionary Challenge
  10. To mirror the Bloodreaver I posted a little while ago, here's my test Liberator for the Stormcast Eternal half of my Age of Sigmar boxset:- Don't think he's as good as my Chaos dude, but then I'm not a big fan of the basic Stormcast troopers. I am pleased with how his armour turned out though (I was determined not to go with the official scheme of metallic gold armour, it would've made me lazy), even if it is pretty time consuming. As always, any comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  11. Couple of bones. I tried to make the freehand on the death knight's cloak match his shield. I imagined him as a paladin in magic armor that still held it's shine. The Cloud Giant was my first attempt at tartan. Also, i thought his base looked cool (and it was easy!) Both are shaded metallics (still working on improving that) Hope you like.
  12. EDIT: I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT PUTTING THE PIX IN SPOILER TAGS...NOT SURE HOW TO. Good evening everyone! These are the first miniatures I have ever painted. I picked up the Bones Learn to Paint Kit a month ago or so and painted two of the 3 minis that came with it (the skeleton came broken) and then decided to pick up 3 more off of ebay and have painted 5 total to date. I was looking for a hobby and I stumbled across this site and read everything about minis and what not and decided to give it a try. I added the model #'s in the topic for the ones I remembered. The first mini I started
  13. Couple of old Partha minis I've painted up for game use. Saw their first action yesterday. Fellow on the left is "Skeleton Dealers of Devastation A," and on the right is one listed as a "Skeleton Knight." Or so I've read. I especially like the Knight--I'unno, just a good pose on him, I guess. Thanks for looking!
  14. While I was painting my Barros & Tempest exchange mini I snapped a few pics to do a WIP with. I may have been overenthusiastic to start and a little forgetful towards the end, but I think I captured the bulk of the process. My plan is to post the images in bulk, so while it'll be broken up into a few posts I should have it all posted after lunch. I cropped and resized the images down to a height of 1000px to keep the filesize under control, but you can still see plenty of gory details once you open them in the image viewer. To start, this is what Reaper sends you as part of the Borro
  15. This week I also completed the three Barrow Warden figures from the Bones II, Expansion I set. In looking at the figures, and thinking about how I wanted to paint them, I got the idea of them being from the barrow they guarded, and the image of them being buried in their armor... I had the thought of how old rusted iron looks after it's laid around in the dirt for a while. So the idea hit me to paint them entirely in a decayed rusted scheme. Then I thought I wanted to do more than just give them plain skeletal heads, so I got the idea to give them some sort of magical looking green glow-y he
  16. Not sure if this guy is supposed to be a Hero or a Villain. Either way I imagine he's pretty punctual.
  17. I'm looking for two minis for my DND 5e character Sir Dustin Bladesong. Unmounted Sir Dustin wears heavy plate & helm (could be on ground or in hand as well). He wields a mighty two handed Greatsword. Mounted the Noble Sir Dustin has lance and shield. His stead Nightmare is a well trained and brave horse. Bonus points for his 3 squires: Tom Tomm rides a pony and plays the lute, Sven and Hunt double on horse back and have musical instruments and a banner.
  18. 'Twilight Knights are part of an organization dedicated to making sure humanity's glorious past is never forgotten. By gathering together what relics and fragments of knowledge they can find, they hope to restore at least a little of what was lost in the Great War. More heavily armoured and with greater mental conditioning than their regular counterparts. Order Knights are the shield of the organization, deployed to defend areas and items deemed to be of great importance. They stand steadfast in the face of whatever Void born madness comes their way.' Still struggling with taking
  19. Still don't feel like facing my 'Shelf of Shame' at the moment, so I dug this guy out of my 'Pile of Shame':- The Order variant of the Twilight Knight from Kingdom Death. Between him needing quite a lot of prep work (the casting wasn't particularly good on this one), a paint explosion and general 'life suckiness', I haven't got very far:- His face is done (Vallejo Dwarf Flesh>Flesh Shade Wash>Dwarf Flesh>1:1 Dwarf Flesh/Linen White). I gave his eyes a few tries but they're way too small for me to pupilize, I might colour them in later but I'm liking them white at
  20. Hi! After long painting project with scarecrow i started next with seltyiel. Last i was learning freehands and today i painted first non metallic metal. And It was fun. I wasnt planing for learning this technique for year or more but i wanted to make light from summon and with metallic paint i feared Its not possible.
  21. Go easy on me. I wasn't really going for nmm. I just wanted black armor that looked different.
  22. Hurt myself and haven't been able to do much painting lately. Here is my most recent. Had a little trouble picking which pics I liked best so threw in some extras. My goal was a golden knight, the temptation was there to throw in a bunch of color especially purple for the tabard, but I wanted to experiment with trying something new. I may pluck off the plant if I can get away with doing so, it isn't really feeling like a match, but it is a gift for my cousin, so I'm thinking he won't be as picky :P Hope you enjoy
  23. This little guy was my entry in the Fantasy Single Category at OrcCon this past weekend. He was a fun one to paint and I was very happy with him. One main thing that I wish I had been able to do better was the browns. The border on the cloth, the spear, and the scabbard all were difficult to do any sort of shading and highlighting that would have any impact. I did try some freehand wood grain on the spear but it did not look good so I went with something else. This was my first time doing resin water and I am very happy with how it turned out. The mold did leak a little and it was not level bu
  24. Next up, an old Grenadier mini from the Julie Guthrie's Personalities line. I really love this mini. I wish I could've done it more justice. I imagine this guy as a dragon slayer, for whatever reason. The grungy sort, though, rough and perhaps of noble connections somehow but rather crude. Mean. Not much better than an evil dragon, perhaps. I gave him a mustache. It looked like he was supposed to have a mustache. Anyway, second attempt at basing. Used some flock LittleBluberry sent me in my Secret Sophie package and some rocks I'd gotten a while back. Super simple, but yeah.
  25. This is going to be my first big project of the year and will most likely be my only entry in the painting competition at OrcCon in February. I would do at least one other but I need to focus on the entries I have planned for ReaperCon. So I present to you the gnome knight mounted on a wolf from Stonehaven. I grabbed this little guy from the Box of Goodwill and have been itching to painted him. He has been primed and I have done a black base for all the metal as well as the wolf's fur. The eyes are done, except for possible color on the wolf's. The gnome's came out a lot better then I expected
