Yet Another Archer; A Kobold; A Tank; and some Fighter Plane Tokens The archer is another one to go with some of the previous bowmen. I hope to get a small painted unit of them by the time this is over. He is an old GW plastic. This guy just sorta got slopped with what ever color was left over after painting some of the other things. He was the use up the paint miniature. I think his legs are haldardier tabard red from last month's batch of halberd guys. Boots are kobold basecoat brown. The Kobold is a bonesium version, white plastic, 77010. I mixed faded purple with some lighter color —fire orange maybe— to get the brown for his basecoat. It did not cover the archer's shoes very well. Later he got drowned in brown liner. The tip of his spear is the same copper that was used to damp brush highlights onto the tank. The tank and the fighter tokens are 1:1200 scale resin models from Spartan Games. The basecoat on the tank is kolbold basecoat brown with a lot of brown liner mixed in because it wanted to dry out too soon. Later some pure brown liner got shoved into the deep places and kinda blended in. Then bronzey highlights. The airplane tokens are responsible for the archer's dingy blue tunic. First paint on them was Black Ink on the edges. Then they got a top coat of Sky Blue, avoiding the tops of the planes (archer got the left overs). Then the then planes got dabbed with metallic either silver or bronze. Then the edges got some silver to pick out the girder work. The final step was to wash them with Blue Liner. I was trying to get some edging and shadows under the planes. I needed to experiment on some of these. I have boat loads of these for the game they are from. I was quite inspired by the Kobold Sorcerer in this post. I had this one sitting on my desk, and I thought to myself, "What a great speed paint idea!" So, I set my timer, and set out to create my own Kobold Sorcerer. All in all, I think he came out pretty good for a 1 hour paint job. Granted, I have not completed the base, but as it stands, I think he would be perfectly fine for use on a table. What do you think? Special thanks to Muninn for the inspiration on the piece. Hey folks! Finally finished the last Kobold on the shelf of prep, and I tried a few new things on him, so in my opinion, he is the best of the Tribe that I have done. (It's Good to be The King!) He was finished up with wet blending and layering, so a large improvement over my older style of base coat, wash, mid tone, high light. He is also the first figure that I did work with my new Scale 75 Metallic golds, and new Raphael brushes, so tools and techniques changed in the painting of this guy. His scepter and crown were done with all 4 gold shades from the Metal 'N Alchemy Gold set, and they are something else! The orb in the scepter, and any gems were given 2 coats of water effect to spice them up. Forget who posted that trick on one of their minis, but thanks! Pics: His left eye is very strange, as far as I can tell, it is designed and sculpted that way. Not many images of this figure in any search I tried that showed that side of the fig... I tried to paint it as if it was enlarged and infected with some disease... So I used a deeper yellow than the norm, no pupil, and a couple of light light grey glazes to try and make it look cloudy / catarachted... Comments welcome! 8) George Now the Kobolds are talking back!!!! It's all Buglips' fault....

I apologize sincerely for flooding the forum, but this is the last one, should be for a while. Ben Siens's Bones kobolds. My low-level monster parties are pretty much complete. Thanks for looking!

This is from the Castle Ravenloft set from Wizards, my "Shelf of Shame" Kobold Sorceror. He only had the base painted, and the skin painted before I picked him up again.

Hey, folks. Picked up some kobolds for the PF game I'm running, and I finally got them painted. These are the metal set of four, by Ben Siens, from the Dark Heaven line. I'm afraid my photos are letting me down even more than my painting skills. I haven't figured out my setup, yet. I was really proud of how I highlighted these guys with orange highlights--I'm still working to eschew the too-white highlights and all--but they're washing pretty well in these pictures. Everything I'm trying lately tends to be either too light or too dark. Hopefully some of it's getting through, though. Thanks for looking. Comments and criticism are very welcome. I've got some Bones kobolds still to paint, so any tips however specific would be most helpful.

After I paingted my Kobolds, I thould I should start with this highness. I was little disappointed, he is sooo much bigger than the other kobolds. He should be smaller, too! I painted the main colors on him in the last few weeks. If I had to much paint, I put something on him if I thought he should get it. Few error correction are still needed and I think he had some rough ecounters with hard objects, because some paint is missing on the back. 03295: Snar Mangebelly, Kobold King
