Like the title says this new year marks the start of my fifth year of miniature painting. Though I've managed to learn a lot both through this forum and the internet at large I still haven't learned proper layering. To anyone who has ever stumbled across any of my projects I'm sure this comes as no surprise. So armed with a Reaper gift card, obtained over the holidays, I decided it was time to finally learn layering. If it wasn't clear I picked up the 2nd Learn to Paint kit. With the instructions in hand I started work on the first model (77068 Anirion the Elf Wizard).
Moving on after The Harlequin Incident ™, and following in Last Knight's fine footsteps, this WIP is from the Learn To Paint Kit 2 - Basic Skin and Cloth. I'd finished the monk (Tsuko?) and tried Laurana here, but was very, very unhappy with how she'd turned out. So, I stripped her and decided to give her another go. Hopefully there are a few more people out there working on this kit willing to post some WIP pics/stories as well! To start off, we have the primed mini. Already deviating from the kit, she's been primed with Krylon white spray primer, as I've gotten pretty grainy results usin
These are the minis that come in this: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Learn%20To%20Paint%20Kits/sku-down/08902 My end results in the LTPK WIP thread are here: http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46157-opengroup-wip-l2pk2/page-30#entry737224 I finished these just in time to start my Bones horde that arrived today. I feel that these are some of my best minis yet and look forward to honing my newly learned skills on my Bones minis for a bit before diving into the next LTPK (despite owning them all). As always: Comments, Questions and Critiques are welcomed.
