  1. I'd been in a little bit of a painting slump since we had to put our older dog to sleep. I'd been going from project to project and painting here and there but nothing came close to being finished but terrain. Miniatures themselves had too many details. The recent arrival of RBJ Game Company's "Yippers & Squealers" Kickstarter helped. First up is Pokechop the Porkgre, quite a massive beastie. Wyllow the Witch ws another mini from the Kickstarter.
  2. In my first set of finished miniatures in 2021, a selection of heroes from Stonehaven Adventurers 2020 Kickstarter. They were primed at the end of 2020 after a end of year arrival, but painted over the last month or so. The whole of my finished ones: The Orcs: My favorite of the set. They showed her as concept art on Instagram about 3 projects ago, I'm glad to see her in physical form finally. The Goblins: I got a very Nott the Brave vibe from this one:
  3. The other set of first completed miniatures of 2021, miniatures from the Dunkeldorf range from King Games. Very inspired by Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The majority of them are from the newer Prancing Peacock Kickstarter but some selections I made were from the existing line. The tables and chairs are cheating, I think they're from Mantic Terrain Crate and were ready already, I didn't back for any of the extra scenery from Dunkeldorf. The Tavern Crowd: The assorted masses: The more militant members:
  4. After a certain owner of RBJ Game Company kept trash talking my simple windmill, I decided it was time for an upgrade, because every village game needs a lonely windmill to joust at. Everything is printed on an Ender 3. Here, Farmer Forscale fills in for his nobleborn cousin (Reaper 77665: Townsfolk) Next to the older Windmill, a file from Thingiverse
  5. As every year I make at least one Pit Fighter as a sacrifice to a Mordheim revival, I started out early this year. For the holidays, a friend got me the Greenfield Grasshuggers Blood Bowl team, despite me not playing, he said it felt weird to have a team named in my honor but I didn't own it. So instead, he enabled this horror: Out of the cruel depths of Mordheim's cheapest fighting pits comes the never-victor, the eternally battered Halfling Gladiator only known as Bloodytoes! The other is an as-is Ogre Gladiator from Knightmare Models. Delightfully retro.
  6. Seemingly unrelated to each other, but I swear all these minis were drying from the sealer by 11:23pm on 12/31/2020. Here are....Lidless Eye's Last Minis of 2020! A Winter Wizard from Reaper Miniatures oh wait it's Santa, isn't it? To back him up, some friendly Reindeer to back him up. Wait, I'm being informed they're actually Grashrak's Despoilers from Warhammer: Underworlds The last bit of their native habitat, a fallen tree (
  7. Slightly delayed to finish, and even more delayed to post to the forums, are my usual themed miniatures from November: Dwarves! Beardy folk seem most appropriate for No-Shave November. Redcaps pretending to be Dwarves from Massive Darkness A Duergar Trapper from Stonehaven Miniatures The Dwarf King from the small release "The Dwarf King's Court, Revisited" by Colin Dixon Miniatures A Warhammer Dwarf Miner where I think I remembered how flames work: This was going to be my PC for Rise of the Runelords, but the game ended before I ever painted him. Grimlok Rockho
  8. Just a random collection of recently painted 3D prints. All of these are from a slightly modified Creality Ender-3 A Longship from EC3D: The Wilds of Wintertide The Draken Airship, from Lovecraft Designs Oh, well! Also from Lovecraft Designs The Ferisia Mage Tower:
  9. I know I messed up the timing this year, and worked on Deadcember instead of Orctober. I wasn't feeling super-motivated by the small amount of unpainted Orcs I had, but from my Frostgrave II: Arcanic Boogaloo order had a ton of the living dead. And one never has enough Zombies. However, it means there's plenty of spookybois to be shown off! The Draugr, mostly converted from the Fireforge Living Dead Peasants and Frostgrave Barbarians with some Warhammer bits. The Knockers, aga
  10. A grouping from RBJ Games Company's latest Kickstarter, Pig-Faced Orcs (and Ettin Bodyguard!) Not'Nord, the Ettin(ess) Normal Nord: Shooty Nord: Shootier Nord: Iron Nord: Smashy Nord: Guardy Nord: Tossy Nord:
  11. To finish off the recently finished, random miniatures! (I hate creating a bunch of tiny threads) "Heroes of Golden Sword" from Crippled God Foundry "Life is easy, it's never hard, when you're a Kobold and a Bard" Kobold Bard (duh) from Stonehaven Miniatures Halfling Gardener, also from Stonehaven Converted Foundry Argonauts, to be Dricheans for Frosgrave: Ghost Archipelago "LET'S GET FROSTY!" Frost Giant from Gale Force 9
  12. Figured I'd put together one big thread of my recently finished 3D prints. Everything was printed on an Elegoo Mars. Titan Behemoth from Duncan Shadow Louca: Cyclops Behemoth, also from Duncan Shadow Louca: A scale shot of those two, with Sir Forscale and a not-Johann the Running Man as my plastic one is broken: Which leads into: "You don't STINK like a peasant." "You don't DRESS like a peasant." "And you're definitely not ON FIRE like a peasant." Fleeing Peasants off Thingiverse: "So yeah, the treasure chest gets up and decks you."
  13. Another compilation thread of things from Reaper Miniatures A miniature that actually went OoP with the P-65 line, a Frost Giant acquired from one of the forum Box of Goodwill rounds: Dreadmere Mayor: Foo Dog: Minotaur(ess): "And there's a creepy doll, that always follows you..." Chronoscopers:
  14. Even though the Isle of Dread game I had been running died a premature death this summer, it's never too early to paint minis for its return, right? The group: Jaatu, a Reaper Miniatures piece I've had in progress since release in 2003, apparetnly. It's good to finally wrap up a mini after 13 years... A Tribal Champion (possibly from Chronopia, I got him with a broken weapon from a trade) And a group of Menehune, from Paymaster Games "Going Native" series: I tried to give the Menehune some traditional tattoos, then kind of gave up.
  15. Here's another set intended for Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago. I tried to do up the Bloodstone Gnomes as Tribals, as one of the Tribal traits is Pygmy and their armor seemed that fantasy MesoAmericana
  16. Finishing up the last few, here's miniatures that didn't belong with the others. Cyclops Spearmaiden from Massive Darkness: Totally a Redcap and not a dwarf as labelled, from Massive Darkness: "Sister Lana, Healer" from Reaper Miniatures: An unknown Gladiatrix, possibly West Wind, acquired during the travels of the Reaper Box of Goodwill:
  17. Finished after a few delays from a project started in...December 2019, woops, are some more female residents of Frostgrave. All are from the official range from North Star Miniatures, other than two metal minis they are all built from the Frostgrave Soldiers II and Frostgrave Wizards II boxed sets, though they may have a few accessories from elsewhere (and the Cultists from the Frostgrave Cultists kit. The two metals: a Barbarian Apothecary and Barbarian Apprentice. The Cultists: Just plain Thieves: Obviously Wizards: K'ren, Slayer of Managers: A hero type:
  18. I figured I'd do one mega-gallery of the first of my resin 3D printed miniatures. All are done on an Elegoo Mars. Oni Kyojin from Artisan Guild. My first printed, as they were pre-supported. Rangers of Shadow Deep: Incinerator left me with a hankering for an old-school Ogre. This guy is not really a Heroquest Ogre but a 3D print from a scan of one. Demihuman Zombies from DuncanShadow: Kobolds from DuncanShadow: Warforged from Fabio Schizzo: Orcs from Artisan Guild: A
  19. Latest in my collection of "Finish stuff you just had details left on" come Bufo the Frogman and Torlan the Gatorfolk from Reaper Miniatures. I felt they needed to be painted as a pair as Mr. Wiebe said he designed them as a pair to fill in the request for Dreadmere's more unusual inhabitants.
  20. "All fear Mumlak, Living God-Chief of the Erithereans!" A steal at $24.99 from Reaper for the size this guy came out at:
  21. I've been waiting to post this until I have enough, but I've just been working on random pieces of scatter terrain in between other projects. Any 3D printed parts are done on my Creality Ender 3. Trees from EC3D . Trees from Dark Realms Barrel, +3 Barrel of Sundering (Warhammer props) Wood bundle, Alchemist's Table and Shelf from Vae Victis, I've honestly forgotten who the other designs were from. "The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!" Beacon Tower from RMPrintables Lounge Chair fr
  22. I've been trying to work on my encounters for Rangers of Shadow Deep. Here's a bunch of randomness from that work! Oh, Rats! We have: a Warhammer Quest rat, a Frostgrave Wizards II Rat Familiar, a Reaper Bones Rat Swarm, a Reaper Bones Rat Ogre, a Spawn Rat from Dark Platypus Studios, a Warhammer Skaven Giant Rat, and a Rat Mama 3D print from Crippled God Foundry. Oh, Bats! A Bat Swarm from Reaper Bones. An Infestation of Spiders: A Reaper Bones Cavern Spider, a Reaper Bones Spider Swarm, a man-faced spider that may be from Foundry, and a classic Warham
  23. Fe fi fo fum, here come the Giants! Ignore the bases, they are temporary until the Sons of Behemat codex releases and I know what I can proxy them as. First up we have Devin Townsend...er, the Kings of War Giant. Then the former Otherworld Giant, now produced by Crooked Dice Games. And a very iconic piece of loot:
  24. So, I heard Chaos Marauders are essential in Maggotkin of Nurgle armies in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. I prepped these guys for our planned league game that got delayed due to the pandemic. At this rate, Sons of Behemat will be out before we can play.
  25. A group of fuzzy feet from Stonehaven Miniatures. The Bard: The Mage: Cousin to the Meat Man The Wool Merchant: The Half-Wench: And lastly, why searching for picture references is fun in the age of memes, Moe the Barkeep: (the reference)
