  1. Here is the latest miniature that I finished. Unlike many, I have been quite happy with this one. There are things I could fix for sure, but at times, you just need to done. I am happy with this one, and I don't think I have ever said that with a finished mini.
  2. Arwen, from Games Workshop. I picked this miniature to finish off 2014 (to get my 2014 total to an even nice and even number) because it probably paint fast. I was somewhat surprised of the result. I'm quite pleased, especially since it didn't require at much of an effort.
  3. I've recently relized that the end of 2014 is fast approaching and I'm nowhere close to completing my second (and most important) painting goal of 2014: that all 2014 purchases must be finished within 2014 (excluding kickstarters). I've spent most of my (recently dwindling) paint time just working through my quickdip pile and really slacking off the metal pile. But as 2014 moves towards its end I really need to pick up the pace. So here's the unarmored Eowyn version by Games Workshop.
  4. Had this guy sitting on my shelf for quite a while. It's so different to work with 54 mm minis. Some things become way easier, but the expectations go way up too.
  5. When I'm able to focus, and manage to remember, I like to participate in the monthly painting challenges over at The One Ring webpage, which is a great community of Tolkien/Miniatures gaming enthusiasts. Sometimes I check their page too late, sometimes I forget for months at a time, sometimes I select a figure but just don't finish (or start!), and sometimes I actually manage to finish the model on time. This month, I managed the latter. This Gandalf is from one of the very early boxed sets, circa around 2000. I bought it back in the day, and haven't exactly been quick when it
  6. Last night my D&D group went back to our Lord of the Rings campaign where I play a young Beastmaster from Rohan. (We're playing the Rolemaster rule set.) I had an Eowyn figure I wanted to mod a little (add fluffier hair and leaves, and a fur stole) to make into my character, you can see my initial playing around with green stuff here. I started painting this figure at 11am and it took me 6 hours from start-to-finish. (Had to leave at 5pm to get to our gaming session.) It was a fun challenge limiting myself to 6 hours. I wanted to paint something that was good enough for th
  7. Hi all, Trying to get my current backlog I brought with me to NY painted down so that I am ready for the Bones stuff incoming sometime in June I expect. First up Barrow Wights! Manufacturer: Games-Workshop System: Lord of the Rings Scale: 25mm
  8. Here is my first mini I have ever posted to these forums! I'm a big fan of Games Workshop's LOTR Strategy Battle Game and have a few painted minis. Hoping to bring this style to the Reaper Bones that will be coming next year!
