  1. Posting last of this month, October's projects finished (and no sorry I'm not an Orc-tober person). While scanning thru some of my old mini's this one screamed out to me, You like me way back then, paint me now!
  2. First Show-Off Post These are some of the last minis I painted before the presbyopia started to kick in. At one time I could see what I was doing! But since then I have dis-improved. My experiments with OTC reading glasses continue—I must have almost a dozen pairs at this point. If I remember rightly I painted the Gnoll and the Paladin at a Reapercon several years back. Or at least that is when I started them. But the remembry is a funny thing—so that might not be totally right. At one point Sir William got to serve in a Warhammer Chaos Army as either a BSB or a unit Champion. It helped that his broccoli base + the plastic regulation square base + the steel washer let him tower head and shoulders above the other plastic Chaos warriors. The steel washer is under there to let him stick magnetically to the unit tray. I need to incorporate the Gnoll into my Reven Army for Warlord.
  3. I picked up six of the old Magnificent Egos Iron Heroes minis on the cheap awhile back and just recently decided to start slapping some paint on them. First up is the "Religious Fanatic" which I found to be something of an odd sculpt. Aside from a somewhat off balance pose, it looks like his arms were originally the sculpted the same length, but at a later point it was decided to cross his weapons and his left arm was expanded by 5%. Really he was an excuse to try out some color combinations that I don't normally use, just to see how badly they clash. After all, he is a Religion Fanatic, not a Fashion Fanatic. As I mentioned in my WIP, I popped both his arms off while gluing him to the base and damaged some of the paint. He wasn't supposed to be a big time investment to begin with, so I didn't put the time in for good repairs. According to my Google-fu, Magnificent Egos sold their miniature line to Valiant Enterprises Ltd., so if you like him he is now known as "Bjorn the Steadfast."
  4. I just entered this into the Here Be Dragons competition, and I thought I'd post him here for commentary too. This is Viszeralyn, the Oracle dragon that I decided to paint up kind of like a Balrog. In my mind now, he's Charsaug- a magma dragon from the Iron Kingdoms setting. Oh, and I've also posted him to Coolmini for anyone who cares to vote.
