dwarf 30010 Berg Ironthorn, Dwarf Crossbowman
MiniPainterDMan89 posted a topic in Show Off: Painting
Hello All, Here is a 30010 Bones USA "Berg Ironthorn, Dwarf Crossbowman" I completed last January. Thank you for looking. -
Hello All, Here is a recently completed 77054 "Galladon, Human Wizard". I did have to make changes to the staff. I could not straighten it out by any means to my satisfaction. So, I cut off the original staff, drilled a hole in his hand and replaced the Bones bendy plastic staff with a brass rod. I cut off the bottom and top of the plastic staff, pinned the parts to the brass rod and there you go. Thank you for looking.

Hi folks! Today I started painting #03836 "Jakob Janssen, Monk" for our friend Jakob. Sending him some good vibes during this time and excited to finish this and ship it his way! I started with skintones and I'm currently working on painting him with a big ol' George Clooney smile I want to finalize my color scheme but I'm really struggling! Many great painters have already posted photos of their version of this mini and I want to do something different than what's already been done. Here are the three I'm considering: The traditional Shaolin monk color scheme Iron Fist (Marvel) color scheme? (green & yellow) Halfling Monk (Pathfinder) color scheme? (green, red/orange, yellow with freehand insanity) Others?? HALP! The more options I research, the less decisive I get. Going to check back in tonight to see what folks think since I'll need to decide before my livestream tomorrow morning. At the end of the day, no matter what color scheme I choose, I'll do my absolute best to make sure it's something that will hopefully bring @JakobJanssen some creative joy I'll check back in soon. Thanks in advance for your thoughts & suggestions!! --Mocha

My goal here was to push myself to go as fast as possible. Start to finish it took approx. 2.5 hours, which is definitely a record for me. Contrary to my usual practice, I painted the integral base; when I do get around to doing a proper base, I will likely integrate it into the display. C&C welcome.

Bones 4 core set #20. Could not find a release # for him yet. I took this guy and a few of his pals to Reapercon to work on in my spare time (ha!) and got him base coated using some of the new Pathfnder paint set. I couldn't help but notice the chickens and the look of terror on his face, thus the name. Finished him with a basic drybrush and wash for table top play.

Interesting little guy, I am sure he is up to no good, skulking around in the shadows near the palace. He has a pair of new bronze daggers, and murder in his eyes.

Painted this up for Rat13 as part of the Summer Exchange. Wanted to do a limited summer/fall color scheme and I am happy with how he turned out. These are not the best pictures in the world as they were taken quickly before packing him up.

Hey guys, I'm back with a second mini to show off. My dad recently decided to join the campaign that I DM for my college friends, (he has never played a tabletop game before), and he decided to play a Duergar Death Cleric. My LGS still had a few of the 25th Anniversary Dain Deepaxes, and it's the perfect mini for him. Had a little trouble pinning the arms, but very happy overall. Anyway, say hello to Ulfgar Fireforge, Cleric of Laduguer!

I am fairly new to painting; I started last fall, but I feel like I've made a good bit of progress in the ~3/4 of a year that I've been at it. I decided that I needed to finally bite the bullet and post a finished mini. This sculpt was perfect for the campaign that I'm DM'ing and it released on my birthday, so I decided he would be the first! Let me know what you think!

Almost done... Just the snow and some painting details... Really liked the model, and is 1 of the main reasons I backed bones 3...the posture was tough, I liked that a lot. One of my first serious attempt of NMM, very happy with it. Unfortunately Tha backside if the axe is better than the front.... A well... Hope u like. Edit: icicles are from train-model building sets. Translucent plastic, and I sprayed a bit of white on the base of the icicle.

I printed this design from heroforge needing a custom, notable NPC, swashbuckling aarokocra captain of the high seas for a campaign. Not a perfect print or paint, but good enough for the table.

This is one of two figures in the Dungeons & Dragons Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures line Male Tiefling Mage. It was one of the first minis I picked up when I was learning to paint. I wasn't sure how I wanted to paint it, so it's been sitting in my inventory for a few months. Now that I have some experience with lighting effects, I decided to go over the top with the color.

I whipped this guy up on Heroforge, modded, printed, and painted him today. I had been looking for a good dragonborn/dragonman/reptus/etc but have been left wanting. This guy is a silver dragonborn cleric, death domain, follower of Tiamat (I know, non-chromatic) for a 5E campaign. I'm happy with how he turned out considering I was shooting for table quality.

This is the bones casting. I wish I had gotten the metal version once I started painting this as it seems some details were lost, especially in the face, and I found it more difficult to paint.

It has been a while, but I am back with another mini from Reaper. This time its a Blood Stone Gnome, which I tried to paint up as a goblin. Hope you all like it. Any C&c is welcomed.

Hello all, just finished another Ral Partha Hackmaster figure, this time a male dwarf thief, dagger in one hand and crossbow in the other. It's another figure sculpted by the prolific Jim Johnson back in about 2003. For this one, I wanted darker colors, but really the hardest part on him was deciding the line at the edges of his leather jerkin. I had considered red and gold, but then for some reason purple ended up being the color I went with. Enjoy!

Hey there Reaper people! here is my take on Bjorn, Dwarven Warrior using NMM. This was painted late last year and is currently being used as a test subject for the new backdrop and my new phone camera. I hope you like it. C&c always welcome. Enjoy.

Well, I finally have gotten around to starting up the Necromancer's from Zombicide: Black Plague. I could have started with the core Necro, but I felt inspired to start with Grin. Now I as I painted him up I had to constantly tell myself he's only for gaming. But I think he has some character. The game fiction has him being a Necromancer that failed at an attempt to bring out the dead, from a pesky adventurer. So I decided to give him a similar complexion to my zombies. Then I decided to attempt to give him some red lips to enhance his grin. In the end for a table top mini I think he came out ok. Though After painting him up I noticed a few spots I'll touch up. Then I though that he would have look cool painted up as a not-joker. *Sigh* Maybe someday I'll look to see if I can acquire another copy. Thanks for any C&C you feel inspired to give.
