http://kck.st/3OLYpfN "What is Hexworld? "We created Hexworld because we found 2D maps left a lot to be desired when playing tabletop games. The hexagonal modular 3D printable maps we have created allow a high level of versatility, giving you the freedom to create completely unique maps for your campaign. This kickstarter will provide you with all the basics needed to start making your world. Following the kickstarter we will be running a patreon where you can add different biomes and event hexes to the world you've created as well as request special hexes. "Only .STL files are provided, you will be required to print them yourself" Looks interesting, and could be a lot of fun for something like 5 Leagues From The Borderland... on the other hand, I'm not sure how much practical use it would be, since it would take up an awful lot of table real estate.

"Over 1800 Jungle Themed Terrain Pieces Made for the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game, and Others Like it." "This Kickstarter marks the release of our two newest books in the Dungeon Craft series "Fallen Kingdom & Jungles of Dread". Both books have nearly 1,000 jungle-themed pieces in them, which allow DMs to build custom interactive maps in a brand new setting. As of this Kickstarter, we will have launched 6 total campaigns, and have brought numerous products to the market. Additionally, we're excited to announce jungle-themed versions of past projects will be brought back for this Kickstarter! This includes the Deck of Stories/ NPC Cards, Dungeon Notes, and new models from our miniature line Counterspell Miniatures. We'll also be unveiling new and exciting products like our jungle DM screen and our Crocodile Jasper D20." https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1985games/dungeon-craft-series-three-two-new-terrain-books-for-dandd/description ******* 1985 Games have launched their third Dungeon Craft Kickstarter. The last two have been fantastic and I absolutely love them. While I enjoy painting minis, I'm not a fan of building terrain or scatter, especially since it tends to block sight or get knocked over and is a pain to store. These 2D terrain pieces are a great compromise. I haven't seen anyone else talk about Dungeon Craft on the forums, but I definitely advocate! If you missed their last two KS there's opportunity to get those as well. And for the first time they're offering some original minis as Add-Ons.

Click on the Notify Me in the KS preview page for a KS discount. The $185 / $205 six-set (two of each of the 3 map sets, with and without vinyl stickers) is the best price. Dungeon set, Frozen Waste set, and miscellaneous. I guess the ideal backer would be someone who has no 2D maps or 3D game tiles, plays RPG and Frostgrave, and has $200 to burn on maps. Each dry-erase map set is 20 17"x22" maps, double-sided and removable. Removable means portable. Yes you're gonna need a bigger table. I already have his original Book of Battle Mats, as well as Loke Battle Mat books and 3D dungeon tiles, so I'll pass on this one. I liked the maps and stickers, although a few thought the art was cartoony or something. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atlasmundi/130219410?ref=9n5vvd&token=6d7a5de9&utm_campaign=GIB1603062156.ckn&utm_source=greeninbox.com&utm_medium=referral

Hopefully this question hasnt been asked too many times before. I am running a small game with my family and i want to be able to throw up a map from the modules onto the screen and be able to move virtual icons around on top of the map. I dont need turn control, i dont really need fog of war, i dont really want anything more than the ability to put Icons on the map and move them around to show where people are. I also want it to use maps I have in Jpg or png or one of those formats, i dont want to have to build the map each time by hand The problem is, everything i have found is either too much or not enough. The drawing programs all require me to create different layers for each player or as soon as i move to the next Icon the last one becomes part of the map. the tabletop programs all seem to want to assume that each person is taking a separate turn and has partial control, only allowing things to move in a specific order and having to import that information in every battle. I dont want this level of control. i have the map and a common screen. Does anyone have a recommendation? I would like it to at least be shareware so i can try it and see if i like it before purchase, but other than that, i am open to paying for the software if its what i am looking for. Thanks for anyones help and time if they can give it.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1209005612/trailblazer-game-stamps?ref=discovery_category_newest About Game Stamps are a map-making tool for role-playing games, which can be used right at the table as you play. The Trailblazer stamps depict iconic terrain such as mountains, forests, or seas. Whether you're preparing for a campaign or mapping the adventure as it unfolds, the stamps let you create attractive paper and ink maps in a fraction of the time it would take to draw them. All of the artwork is compatible with 1" hexes and grids, making the stamps ideal for open-world games. Stamp each hex as the players explore it, or pass the stamps around the table and create a shared world. No matter how many people contribute to it or how many sessions it takes to explore it, the map will be detailed and consistent. Game Stamps are made of natural gum rubber, deeply etched to produce a high quality image. The rubber is precisely trimmed to avoid artifacts, and cushioned with thick foam to distribute pressure evenly, improving the quality of the impression. The hardwood mounts have an hourglass profile, making them easy to grip. Each set comes in a cushioned chipboard box and includes an archival-quality ink pad. A wonderful addition to the toolkit of any game group with a penchant for exploration. Whether you're creating a world ahead of time or improvising a hexcrawl on the spot, Brendan Day's Game Stamps will help you create a handcrafted map with speed and clarity. ~ Jason Lutes, author of The Perilous Wilds and Berlin. Game Stamps are a great idea executed well. They're a welcome addition to my gaming library. I can't wait to see more! ~ Tony Dowler, author of How to Host a Dungeon. Whether we use high quality pens and papers, or just scribble on the nearest scrap of paper, map making is one of the many hobbies within a hobby, that are part of being a gamer. When it comes to maps for fantasy games, there is an artistic quality to homemade one of a kind maps, that cannot be equaled. Game Stamps really do have that handmade look and feel. ~ Griffith Morgan, Co-Director of Secrets of Blackmoor: The True History of Dungeons and Dragons. The Trailblazer stamps depict the following terrain: Mountains Hills Grassland Swamp Forest (Deciduous) Forest (Conifer) Sea Desert Tower Village Castle or Walled City Megalith or Dungeon Entrance If you back at the Wanderer or Explorer level, you will receive a starter set containing 6 or 9 stamps. The Wanderer level lets you choose either the Deciduous or Conifer forest, whereas the Explorer level includes both of the forest designs. If you back at the Adventurer, Wayfinder, or Cartographer level, you will receive all of the designs. The Wayfinder and Cartographer levels include 3 additional stamps, which depict individual trees. 1/2" Tree (Deciduous) 1/2" Tree (Conifer) 1/2" Tree (Leafless) You can use these smaller stamps to create mixed terrain such as forested hills, or to add variety to large sections of woodland. All sets include a jet black archival-quality ink pad, but if you back at the Cartographer level, you will receive three additional ink pads in colors of your choice. I recommend Cobalt Blue and Vermillion Red, but other colors are available.

What you see here is a dungeon map drawn by an eight year old. It kind of took me back to my early days of dungeon design, although I was older when I drew my first one. A guy on the Old School Gamers board on Facebook posted this picture. It is a dungeon map drawn by his eight year old son, who took up an interest in Dungeons and Dragons, and was given the Basic booklets by his proud and happy daddy. I approve of this sort of thing. Imagination should be exercised, and there is evidence that RPG obsessions, managed correctly, can seriously impact writing and math skills in a very positive way. There are worse things to slap an eight year old upside the head with. But as I looked at the map and tried to make sense of it, I began to wonder about Room 21, which according to the DM's notes, contains "Gonturzaps." What the hell's a gonturzap? I realize this may sound kind of wacked out, considering my recent ramblings about owlbears, bulettes, and rust monsters, but I've certainly never heard of Gonturzaps. Based on my knowledge of D&D cartography and the game in general, our young dungeonmaster not only created his own dungeon crawl, but populated it with things out of his own imagination, including gonturzaps, titis, clawings, sortoudi, citapes, tisiops, motstins, and the dreaded Corgostise. ...none of which is to be found in any edition of the Monster Manual. Or even Tunnels & Trolls, which was renowned for its dumb monster names. "Clawings," I can get a mental grip on. Plainly, these are monsters with claws of some sort. Or wings. Or maybe claws AND wings. I can manage that. Titis, I can get even more of a mental grip on. I have seen a titi or two in my time. While still wild and wonderful, I have no huge curiosity about what a titi might look like; pictures are abundant, both of the Greater Titi and its cousin, the Lesser Titi, the Pointing Titi, the Asymmetric Titi, and the common Itti Bitti Titi. Furthermore, miniatures depicting titis are made by many miniatures outfits. The boy's interest makes sense; when I was eight, my experience with titis was pretty minimal, and I might well have put them all over MY dungeon, too, had I known about D&D at that early and tender age. Out of a bitter and unsatisfied curiosity about Gonturzaps, though, I finally PM'd the fellow, and asked him to check with his boy and find out what the hell a Gonturzap looked like. I anxiously await his answer.... although part of me is a little scared the guy's just going to say something like "Gonturzap is the evil wizard who built the dungeon." Which then makes me wonder if he has the power to control titis.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/loreobserver/100-maps-of-fantasy-islands?ref=discovery About Hi! We are the authors of The Lore Observer, a worldbuilding website where we collect our writings, maps and artworks. We want to Make 100 Maps of Fantasy Islands that you can use for your tabletop RPG campaigns and we want you to decide what happens in these places! Worldbuilding and mapmaking are activities that we really enjoy, a passion that we both have been following for roughly ten years. When we saw the Make 100 initiative, we thought that it would be a great opportunity to build something cool and useful to writers, artists and tabletop roleplayers. Our plan is to create an eBook of high-res island maps that you can use in your RPG campaigns, to get inspiration for your own worldbuidling or to prompt your creative writing skills. Here's the deal: you can be the one who decides what's going on one island and your ideas will be published in the eBook alongside the artwork! Backing one of the 100 limited rewards, you will get the limited Worldbuilder's Edition of the eBook and you will be part of a collaborative worldbuilding project where your map description, name and landmarks will be published in the eBook next to the artwork. When the campaign ends and the artworks will be ready, you will be sent one of the 100 islands and you will tell us what you believe it's going on in there. You may be inspired by the island shape and its quirks, or just let your imagination go wild. It's your call! An example Once we send you your designated island, we will ask you to tell us the following: The island's name. The island's lore and description. A brief description for three landmarks or any other kind of points of interest. Your writings will published on the eBook, so let your imagination run wild! Every island could be anything, so it's entirely up to you to decide what's going on in there! To keep things manageable there will be a character count restriction and we will ask you to keep things SFW (safe for work), clear from profanity, racism, and other nasty things that might be considered offensive. Also please note that your writings won't affect the island's design unless you select one of the four 50€ pledges available. As the complete eBook is going to take some time to make and assemble, we plan on sending regular updates on the latest maps we made, this way we can keep in touch with our backers and you can check the new designs out and the overall progress of our project. We want this eBook to also become a tool for writers, artists and worldbuilders. A book you can browse to find inspiration when you need to create, to activate your fantasy and to exercise your creative writing and thinking skills. Open the eBook to a random page, take a look at the islands and start thinking all kind of things that could happen in there. Write them down, use them in your next great project or just spend some time with your imagination. Take this island for example, what's going on in there? Is it home of a small totalitarian nation that fortified itself on the island and whose patrols guard all the coastlines? Is it the private island of a rich alchemist merchant where it's said eerie things can be seen during nighttime? Is it a natural oasis where an uncontacted civilization lives in perfect balance with the most dreadful monsters? Is it a legendary, secret place where dragons go to die since the ancient times? ...and so on!

About Created by Loke BattleMats, this Kickstarter aims to expand on our latest tabletop RPG accessory, the Big Book of Battle Mats, which is a wire bound book of fantasy themed Battle Mats that can be used by simply opening the book to the chosen design and using as either a single or double page spread. The Big Book of Battle Mats The Wire binding allows the pages to sit flat on the table and each page is laminated so can be drawn on and wiped clean. The book format allows us to fit 58 individual Battle Mat pages in an area the size of a normal RPG rulebook. The two most common requests we've had is for a larger version and a Sci-Fi version, this campaign will aim to address both of those questions. If funded, this campaign will result in the following new products added to the Loke BattleMats book range: The Giant Book of Battle Mats (A3 fantasy themed) The Big Book of Sci-Fi Battle Mats (A4 Sci-Fi themed) The Giant Book of Sci-Fi Battle Mats (A3 Sci-Fi themed) The book sizes are either A4 (8.3" x 11.7") with each page as an 8x12 grid A3 (11.7" x 16.5") with each page as a 12x17 grid The Giant fantasy themed book will contain similiar but expanded designs to the current fantasy book such as wilderness, caves, dungeons, town locations and some special areas. The two sci-fi book sizes will contain similar designs to each other with the plan to include designs such as ship/station interiors, planetary landscapes, space locations, city locations and some special areas.

About Welcome to the Halls of Legend, a castle of myth and mystery waiting to be explored! This is a map-building project larger than any I've attempted before: a set of poster maps that let you build an enormous castle section-by-section for use with tabletop RPGs and miniatures games. As funding for this project grows, so will your castle: new sections will be unlocked and added to the available rewards via stretch goals, revealing new iconic castle set-pieces lavishly illustrated and ready for your gaming table! This crenelated and gargoyle-encrusted medieval fortress mixes the practical needs of a defensive stronghold with the mystical trappings of a secret arcane academy and the luxurious appointments of a royal residence. Each modular poster map is designed to be useful on its own, while connecting seamlessly to adjacent sections as part of a greater whole. Most of the artwork for this map series is already done, and I'll be finishing the expansion areas as we go. As always, the real hurdle to making these poster maps available is funding. Poster printing requires large print runs to keep the individual costs down for everyone, so your contribution to this project is crucial to getting it into print, and every bit of your funding goes directly into the cost of producing and delivering the maps. I hope you like what you see, and that you'll be inspired to help bring this castle to life! PROJECT GOALS At $4000 - Halls of Legend I The initial funding goal gives you the first poster in the series: The Great Hall and Castle Dungeons! The front of the poster offers a gigantic gathering hall with tables prepared for a royal feast, while the back reveals the deep foundations on which the castle is built: The Great Hall Castle Dungeons At $6000 - Halls of Legend II The first stretch goal will reveal the Entrance Halls and Upstairs Corridors, connected to each other by a grand staircase and forming a central core of the castle. Here's a look at the Entrance Halls; the floor above them will be revealed later. Check back as we unlock stretch goals! Entrance Halls At $8000 - Halls of Legend III At this level, we begin to branch out to the side wings of the castle. This poster features the Library Wing and the Residential Halls, including guest and faculty accommodations, student dormitories and a hospital for recovering heroes. This is the Great Library. The floor above it will remain shrouded in mystery for now. Check back as we unlock stretch goals! Library Wing At $10,000 - Halls of Legend IV Upon hitting this benchmark, you will reveal the Academy Wing and Tutorial Halls maps of the north side of the castle, with practice rooms, classrooms, workshops, and lecture halls where students of the mystical arts can learn and hone their skills. Here's a peek at the ground floor of the Academy Wing. The level above is under construction. Check back as we unlock stretch goals! Academy Wing When the first four double-sided posters are all unlocked, they will also be collected into a deluxe boxed set with additional map content, and everyone who gets all four will get the upgraded deluxe set map tiles for free! Normally, this would finish the project, and the posters mentioned above are certainly enough to build a robust castle. However, I'm designing this castle with the potential to grow even further! If we hit all four of the goals laid out above, I'll be posting additional stretch goals to unlock even more, including a courtyard and the battlements around it, stables, greenhouses, servants' quarters, and the castle grounds beyond! All told, my plans for this castle include 16 map images spanning 8 double-sided posters--two full deluxe sets worth of content that all fits together.

About this project We will make 20 highly detailed science-fiction spaceship maps. The maps will be a great inspiration for your adventures in any galactic empire. Higher resolution variants (see rewards) can be used with virtual tabletops (VTT) or printed in poster size! We make these maps with Adobe Illustrator, using a unique technique creating vector based maps. This way we can produce maps of extremely high resolution. The maps can also be made as layered PDF's (see below). The example maps you see here are from the kickstarter "Dungeon of the Day". The pdfs are in 300 dpi resolution. Suitable for printing and screen use. They are layered so you can hide or show room numbering, grid, furniture etc. An example of a spaceship PDF can be downloaded here: Note: you need to open the PDF in a stationary computer to use the layers. Showing layers in a PDF. These are well suited for print, screen or virtual tabletop use. These are all without grid and numbering. 100 pixels per square grid. High resolution example These maps can be printed in poster size. If you use it on a screen you can zoom in extremely deep. Up to 10200 x13000 pixels! Super high resolution example 3000 SEK (about $380) - UNLOCKED 8 extra spaceship maps from our Kickstarter project "Dungeon of the Day". The quality of the maps matches your reward level (low res for Scavenger reward level, PDFs for Gunner reward level etc). 4000 SEK (about $500) - UNLOCKED We will team up with the Swedish retro-rpg "Sci-Fi!" and make five ships together with them. The style of the spaceships will be about the same as the other maps as "SciFi!" is a fairly generic game. The added colorful descriptions will be an inspiration and guide for your games. 5000 SEK (about $620) - LOCKED One additional map! 21 in total. 7500 SEK (about $950) - LOCKED To be announced!

Even though this isn't minis, I thought some of the rpg gamers here might be interested in this project. (I hope that's okay; I couldn't find anything against it in the guidelines.) Mike Schley has drawn many of the maps appearing in the D&D 5e supplements, and he's now created a system independent set of maps for encounters. Looks pretty neat. Quoting from the project page: " Schleyscapes is a system-independent RPG supplement for game masters created by fantasy artist and author Mike Schley. This initial episode sets your players out on an expedition to The Forlorn Cottage encounter site where a foul beast has staked its claim. As a series opener, it also includes an introduction to the epic world of Fernweh, where the moon never sets and strange portents abound. " Edit: Here is the actual link to the Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/854158822/schleyscapes-an-rpg-adventure-series It seems to include adventure hooks, as well as some innovating things like overlays for when PCs enter buildings & explore. Also, there is this: SPIDERBEAR!

Completed The Big Book of Maps (for Tabletop Roleplaying Games)
SamuraiJack posted a topic in Kickstarter
About this project Here's your chance to get a collection of full-color, full-page (8.5" x 11") high-resolution (600 dpi) tabletop RPG maps (including VTT-ready digital versions) for less than 14¢ each! Need a treasure trove of maps at the ready for the adventure or campaign you're writing? Want a ready-to-use codex of over 100 maps to utilize on-the-fly when player characters take an unexpected turn? Each map has a VTT version and a non-VTT version. A great solution for "discovered" treasure maps. All maps are formatted in high-resolution digital format perfect for importing into your favorite Virtual Tabletop (VTT) platform! Labels on the maps are language-ambiguous (numbers and single letters only), making the entire map collection useful no matter the native language of users. The Big Book of Maps is a cartography collection of more than 100 full-color tabletop role-playing game maps that is being created by Justin Andrew Mason. These maps are being created on a twice-weekly basis throughout the creation phase of the project (April 2017 - March 2018). Each map will be provided to those who pledge $20 (or more) in digital format (JPG) for integration into any tabletop RPG with alternate virtual tabletop (VTT) versions provided simultaneously with each map release. Most maps will be geared towards a fantasy setting, though a few will likely have potential of crossing genres. The focus of this collection will be dungeon maps, but may include various subterranean complexes, crypts, tombs, castles, caverns, tunnels, mines, etc. There are several rewards available with content to be delivered to backers at every pledge level! -
