Hey everyone, here's a very popular model that many of you have probably already painted. I completed mine late last night. This is the metal version of 03461, Goldar the Barbarian was sculpted by Matt Gubser. It's also available in Bones plastic under SKU: 77047.

I am still not happy with the skin tones I have come up with for my basic Zombicide zombies... Most have been too green. So I wanted to try something more of a pale skin to grey color.. And believe it or not I am out of Bones zombies and that's to experiment on. So I found Goldar who is my proxie zombie. What do you guys think? I am actually happy with this one for two reasons: I painted him I about two hours total and I think this skin tone will work for my standard Zombicide zombies. It is VMC 2 parts basic skin tone to 1 part sky grey. Then a light wash of Army Painter dark tone Ink. Btw... I am going to stick with their ink since it dries in less than an hour, rather than two days for their quick shade dip. Once I get a Caucasian zombie skin I like, then I will have to work on an African zombie skin tone to add some variety.

So I've been looking at this fella a little too long on my shelf. Time to tackle this. I've moved from my usual painting station, due to my daughter having a sleep over. I can't take the crappy music any longer! Anyway I'll be updating this as I progress through the night. Good bad or ugly.

So, sometimes you have to call it good and move on. No matter how I tried, I couldn't matte the purple satin finish enough for my tastes -- I wanted it to be super-flat, like inky night, and there's still a little shine. Nobody hires a shiny assassin. Nobody. They're too easy to see coming. Anyway, I'm pretty happy otherwise, even if there are rough spots. I learned some things from doing it.

This is another one for Cal's Pathfinder game. I've added in some pieces to make it look like he's really come straight out of the earth. Thanks for looking!

Heeeeeey. Been away for a while. Back with different minis, same bad painting. First up is Matt Gubser's Dalyn Talas, Elven Sword Mage. Though this mini was cool (if a little silly) when I saw it; kind of was bummed about the lack of hair detail when I got it in hand. But a lot of that's just my being a bad painter. He was still fun to do up. Trying out a new background for these. Hopefully makes the pictures a little less awful. Thanks for looking.

This is my ReaperCon 2015 entry into the Diorama category. I called it "Faithful Stand" and the idea came about when I first saw the praying paladin. It evoked in me an image of him praying to his god or goddess and something bad sneaking up behind him. I then saw the Reaper Artist Con's Ogres and knew that they were what was needed to put this diorama from my mind into reality. The Grey Maiden was the prefect figure for my idea of a statue of the paladin's goddess. Having got caught up in a pretty big funk for a while, I didn't start this project until about 10 days before ReaperCon was to happen. After much work and many hours, I was able to complete it at the deadline the morning I had to leave for the Con. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed working on it! The alcove had long fallen down around her ankles, but she still stood. He took it to be divine intervention and continued to pray to her, he knew that he was the first to do so in this ruined area in well over a century... ​As the paladin prayed to his goddess, Tog and Gog grinned evilly at each other and came out of hiding in the hills and forest to smash the skull and enjoy a nice meal. They rushed forward, froth and drool flying out of their mouths and eagerness in their long strides. Their clubs wound up and... Thank you for looking, C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated! P.S. I might still (at some point) apply the feedback I received from Michael Proctor (one of the judges) to fix this piece up more, but I'm still undecided at this point so that's why I'm posting pics now.

He is the one I first decided to work a bit on the shadows and a touch of highlight on. I still have a ways to go to mastering the skill, but at least I have started work on mastering them.
