  1. Gronk didn’t retire with Tom, he’s just retooling his skills. This one was fun to paint.
  2. Had a bit of fun with this one (after starting and restarting 5-6 times) first time I used the mud effects from Vallejo. Figure was big enough to practice on. I can’t seem to get enough time to get into good habits, but I find all sorts of time for the bad ones..

  4. I bought this guy as a potential diorama subject, but he wasn't quite right. I did a quick paintjob to get him off the table/out of the shame pile. I recently found out how to make crystals out of sprue.
  5. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1520354196/osmoticmeld?ref=user_menu Osmoticmeld is an experiment! It is a collaborative partnership between the renowned artist Ian Miller and [John Robertson], and was born of a serendipitous meeting over social media many moons ago. I must also extend special thanks to both Sebastian Czarnecki and David Pauwels, they have been incredibly generous with their time in giving advice, support and guidance: Seb’s also designed our website and David’s done some fabulous work with his hair sticks! I've been following these on facebook for what seems like ages as they've been sculpted and am impresses with how close they are to the Ian Miller artwork that inspired them
  6. Dungeon Dwellers 07031, Giant Rat sculpted by Julie Guthrie. The base is 25mm. Is that model already oop? (Should be released in bones USA this year).
  7. I got a few minis in the 2021 kickstarter. My wife loved the garden troll so I'm gonna Moomin it as a stocking stuffer Though my base is a bit darker than I'd like.
  8. A trio of animated snowmen, definitely up for trouble for the holiday season! Definitely a fun and quick seasonal paint-up. The snowmen are painted up in Reaper Frosty Blue and highlights of Pure White, with Vallejo Azure providing the deep shadows and lining. The bases are dead simple, using the same colors and some Americana crackle medium for a subtle cracked ice effect. I really like how the monocle came out on the top hat snowman! I think of the three, the candy cane carrying snowman is my favorite. His derpy upturned face is visible from anywhere across the table, and the tattered Santa robe came out quite well. My daughter suggested that the end of the candy cane should be spattered with blood effects, but then my wife would never let me put it in a holiday display! I went back and forth on the color of the hair for the bowler hat snowman. I was going to repaint it black, but tried changing the color in a paint app, and didn’t like it. I did one last thing to tie the trio together — I gave them matching scarves! My daughter took one look and said: “They’re in a gang!” — she got it! Happy holidays, everyone!
  9. Had the darnest time painting this... no color combination was working... but here he is, ready for the table when the captain drops his disguise spell....
  10. More villagers for your town! Many of these poses are unique and, afaik, unavailable elsewhere. All In Pledge shows all sets available in this KS. Sets and smaller bundlers are available, and sets from the previous Villagers KS are available now from the creator's website. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/blackstone-heath-the-villagers-part-2
  11. I'm not so sure this is a show off as I'm not happy with the final result. The bones have way to much contrast in my opinion. What do you all think?
  12. I previously backed the RBJ "Yippers and Squealers" KS (dog-faced kobolds, and pig-faced orcs) and the KS went fine. The Squealers will be offered in this KS as well. I'm only posting these pledges to show all the miniatures, and other pledges are available, including one with "everything". https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620164718/grunts?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=grunt
  13. So here's another from the last year. I was unmotivated at first because the facial detail was a bit lacking but I like the way it turned out.
  14. Here we have a set of post-apocalyptic survivors. You have some choices here (physical/digital) on how you want them. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/orzolstudio/post-apocalyptic-miniatures-resin-metal-and-stl-files?ref=recommendation-projectpage-footer-4
  15. Okay, I just joined the forums so I'll be posting my "backlog" of finished minis. This is one I did for a contest earlier this year.
  16. I finished some townsfolk recently, they snuck into the queue ahead of my halfpainted drow squad. 😮 Fruit seller in metal (SKU 4023): Farmer and beggar in Bones (SKU 77665):

  18. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/dwarves-a-class-of-their-own/description Story Long gone is the time of Dwarves in Midlam, a city built over the ruins of their Middle Home, which lay between the Lost Mountains and the Southern Holds. The Barons of Midlam have always claimed their city was gifted to them by the dwarves of old, and claim an ancient alliance, although dwarves have rarely been seen in the city, and must register their presence with the Town Council. Far to the North, so they say, lies the Lost Mountains, a place of legend and dragons. It is said that many years ago, a dwarf came to Midlam in secret, hired two guides and headed North, never to be seen again. There was also rumours that a group of grizzled dwarven mercenaries made the journey, but they too disappeared into folklore. Now rumours abound of Dwarven Adventurers, heading North once more, into the perpetual freezing wastes. The frightened chatter speaks of their desire to rid the Mountains of the orcs and goblins and return the Dwarven King to his throne. Nobody knows what truly lies North, but people fear the return of the old wars, rampaging dragons and a dark evil that has no name... Dwarves - A Class of their Own A set of 12 Male and Female 28m scale Dwarf Miniatures of different Character Classes for all your Fantasy Games. (two of the set. )
  19. This fellow has been lurking at the bottom of a drawer or box for over 30 years.... I finally painted him up. It was actually a bit irritating somehow... I guess that's why he sat in nothing more than a coat of primer and a red shield for so long! Not sure the maker, maybe citadel? He is on a metal part for the slot base that helpfully says 'orc'. All this time later, I love him just for nostalgia and remembering my dad painting up all those orcs... and we never used the minis in play!
  20. Short Kickstarter from Bad Squiddo games for female Soviet troopers for WWII gaming. Thiis expands their existing range and adds troops clad for winter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/badsquiddogames/women-of-ww2-soviet-russia-28mm-miniatures Story Hello! This is a Kickstarter to increase our existing WW2 Soviets range. Already massively popular since the first wave launch of 2016, we decided it needs reinforcements! The miniatures are sculpted and master cast, so this project is to cover the funds of production moulds and the initial casts. BORING BUT IMPORTANT TECHNICALS - The miniatures are 28mm scale and cast in extremely high quality white metal. Everything is single piece where possible. They come without bases supplied but with moulded on small puddle bases (easy to chop off if you wish to). And of course - they are compatible with the similar male miniatures from other manufacturers. They are supplied unpainted - so you can either paint them yourself or simply bring out the detail with an ink wash. Shipping is charged in addition to your pledge, AFTER THE CAMPAIGN, scroll to the bottom for more information. Please don't add the shipping cost during the campaign. EU Customers be aware of additional import fees, more on that later too.
  21. I backed their previous Halfling Yeoman riding chickens 😁 so figured I'd give them a shoutout! TAG - Gobudai, Riders of the Shimmering Horde. 28mm Old School Goblin Warg rider miniatures. Metal. "Pledges at £85, and over will be upgraded to our, FREE WORLDWIDE shipping service." https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chickstaterii/tag-gobudai-riders-of-the-shimmering-horde
  22. So here they are. The Ogre Squad. You can see the WIP here. I love how nonchalant and casual this guy looks. especially when compared to this guy. The oldest of my ogres. Metal and unfinished for years because I was just never happy with him. another angry ogre fond of the face(s) on this guy and also the pig. The rope on the barrel was a little frustrating though. It had a mold line right down its length and even though I wasn't doing much line cleaning for these guys that was both a hard one to fix and a hard one to ignore. the bones black ogre has the best grumpy ogre face. He painted up nicely with very little clean up to ignore. the other metal ogre Kagunk and his amazing shield. This guy sat just primed for a good long while as I just was never sure how to handle the shield face. The older chieften's club face was easier since it was always going to look like wood, but this I had to think about a bit. I think it works pretty well. a few attempts at a group shot. Bigger minis are hard to keep all in focus at once. There it is then. There are a couple of details I see I still need to do and the metal chieftains need to be sealed. But otherwise that is it for this lot. I did by the other ettin in bones and I might order the other ogre leader and I think I have a bones half ogre around somewhere. If I paint them I may update this with new squad members. We will see.
  23. Hello forum Family, gonna show you my version of D'Vandra Lukesia, the metal one. I had hard time with her (but this is part of the fun, isn't?), so many tiny details and her face is sooo tiny In any case I managed to paint her and I'm happy of she came out! About the palette I chose the colors on the fly, started with the yellow skirt and simply add colors at the moment I needed to paint a detail, like the amaranth scarf, or the blue bag, the green vial, and so on. I hope you like her too :) Hi-res pics
  24. Another little piece that I am happy to finally have completed. I love these monsters and they are often in my dungeons but rarely seen and never sought after. Hunting these is like hunting the garbage collector, you only do it when you think you threw out something valuable. But there have been a couple of points where I wished I had a miniature for it and now that's resolved. Hope you like him... I named him Fred
