Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bamdungeondelvers/forged-adventure-series-1/description Alright, so this is the third launch for this campaign. The first launch just wasn't optimally set up, pure and simple. The second succeeded in funding, but moved slow, and Broken Anvil seems very intent on wanting to get a lot of their stretch goal miniatures made. Both the previous launches also had some elements to them that were reminiscent of another KS(Blacklist FS1) that a lot of people have been burnt by, which probably made some of those people steer clear. So they've now done some rebranding of the campaign, and it's on Kickstarter instead of Backerkit now. The "rerelaunch" was apparently done because Broken Anvil was given a deal by the factory they're working with, which reduced the costs significantly. So they relinquished the funding that they had already secured in their second launch to do make a better campaign with more value (and more minis) for everyone involved. Anyone that backed the second launch on Backerkit will get a couple of small bonuses if they back the new campaign on KS. This will be a "Pug King" mini and a "third time's the charm" enamel pin. So nothing big that feels like you'd be missing out on if you didn't back the previous version, but also a nice, little "thank you" to those that did and kept supporting the project. Pledge levels: Heroes Box $40 (17 hero minis, no stretch goals) Encounters Box $60 (5x6 pcs enemy squad minis, 2 large monster minis, no stretch goals) Adventure Box $120 (17 heroes, 5x9 pcs enemy squad minis, 2 large monster minis, 1 dragon, all stretch goals) Forgemaster's Bundle $360 (Everything in the Adventure Box, all 7 addon dragons, 5e Adventure, 45 pcs terrain buncle, all stretch goals) Adventure STL Bundle $50 (Every sculpt in the Adventure Box, including all stretch goals, as STL files.) There are Early Bird pledge levels with reduced costs for the first 48 hours. --- Alrighty, so first off, they've made an early update with some information about the rerelaunch. Though I personally would've liked more in depth info/details on some points, it does feel very genuine. They also acknowledge the problem with the Blacklist FS1 KS, without mentioning the name. They've also chosen to put their actual faces on the campaign, which I personally consider a good show of sincerity. Secondly, all the dragons have been previewed on the front page: Those are some interesting dragons! Some of them are very close to their D&D counterparts, though with some quirks. The Red and Black dragons are very different, though! The Red Dragon is basically a living volcano spewing clouds of smoke, and with the horns of a D&D Black Dragon. Meanwhile, the Black Dragon looks like something straight out of Final Fantasy. I don't think they're bad designs, but rather that I wouldn't personally use them as a Red or Black Dragon in D&D. I'd paint them up differently and use them differently. They're still very interesting designs. Really like that there are 3 metallic dragons though, and that they'll all work quite well as those dragons in D&D. Also, here's the first stretch goal roadmap: We can see that the first stretch goal are the three large Wargs. The third stretch goals are the Tiefling warrior and the little fox creature that were the second stretch goal in the previous launch.

I *think* the core set has 10 miniatures, though the pictures are a little confusing. The photo has *some* core figures and *some* SG's. Anyway, for $10, you get the digital files, and for $22 plus shipping, you get the plastics plus digital. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/harlots-den

KS : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cmon/zombicide-undead-or-alive/ Safest thing is to pledge $1, wait for the Pledge Manager, check shipping, VAT, and other charges, then wait for the base game at half the KS plus shipping price during a holiday sale.

Interesting Kickstarter for resin minis based on the Mork Borg setting (Nothing something I've heard of, but I barely know anything about RPGs):- https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/westfaliaminiatures/mork-borg-miniatures Also not a company I've heard of before, but they do seem to have a pretty solid track record. What is it about this week and Kickstarters for weird minis? On top of this one there's Coven launching on Saturday too, I'm supposed to be getting out of this whole Kickstarting malarkey!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/the-thing-with-the-ring/description Robbits (the nickname for Urban Halflings) are a small mischievous folk with an uncanny habit of ‘finding’ ancient relics of vast and horrifying power. In this case, a troublesome Ring, belonging to an evil wizard called Nörmün. Nörmün has sent his Goblins to retrieve the Ring, even as the Wizard Gudgrief tries to form a Party of Dwarves, Elves and Robbits to take the Ring away on a Quest. But the reluctant Robbits know that nobody ever comes back from Gudgrief’s Quests, so the Dwarves are forced to Press-Gang and the Elves to Enchant them out of their Pits to join the Party. However, Robbits are innately ‘Tricksy’ and will use Magic and Excuses to avoid going on the Quest. Only one Robbit will live to tell the epic tale of... Our card game is a parody of Epic Quests in roleplaying and fantasy fiction, where brave heroes would normally gather together to find, destroy, or hide the 'McGuffin'. Robbits however, want nothing to do with it, and must use Magic and Excuses to avoid going on the Quest, all the time dealing with troublesome Dwarves, Elves and Goblins. This game contains, 100 fabulously illustrated cards, a rulebook and a die. The card game is for 1-6 people (and is also a solid two player game) and games are incredibly varied. It is ideal as a warm-up or filler for game evenings or just some interactive fun with friends. It is a fast-paced game, typically taking 30 minutes or so. Once again we have a beautiful die produced by Q-Workshop for the Battle Die. The Battle Die is used to resolve Battles in the game, the outcome of some events and Enchanting Elves. The Robbits are also available as minis, in Midlams classic style, and they're also adding in 'The Book of the Dead' a 9minute card game in some of the pledge levels. They're only at 70 backers and 400% yet, so there's still room for a few more backers...

"Goblin Civil War is a set of miniatures rules and a range of figures for fighting 'The Goblin Civil War', a fantasy campaign inspired by the historical events of The Spanish Civil War. Even if the miniatures are too genre-specific, take a look at the terrain bundles, from Scotia Grendel. Shown here is the Ruins set. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/goblin-civil-war?ref=ksr_email_user_new_friend_project

I backed their original Mythic Battles: Pantheon. Good miniatures. IIRC, Mythic Battles: Pantheon core sets in the KS, and possibly some expansions in the PM. Expansion reprints were difficult because printer required a minimum number, and Monolith wasn't sure how many sets backers would want. Also, let me know how their fulfilment has been going. (Not to be confused with their former partner, Mythic games.) Well, looks like Hasbro is doing their own version of a kickstarter for a new release of one of the all-time classics. I don't know if their site for the crowdfunding would be considered as a commercial site, but I'm sure it will be easy enough to find. I'm in!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/dwarves-a-class-of-their-own/description Story Long gone is the time of Dwarves in Midlam, a city built over the ruins of their Middle Home, which lay between the Lost Mountains and the Southern Holds. The Barons of Midlam have always claimed their city was gifted to them by the dwarves of old, and claim an ancient alliance, although dwarves have rarely been seen in the city, and must register their presence with the Town Council. Far to the North, so they say, lies the Lost Mountains, a place of legend and dragons. It is said that many years ago, a dwarf came to Midlam in secret, hired two guides and headed North, never to be seen again. There was also rumours that a group of grizzled dwarven mercenaries made the journey, but they too disappeared into folklore. Now rumours abound of Dwarven Adventurers, heading North once more, into the perpetual freezing wastes. The frightened chatter speaks of their desire to rid the Mountains of the orcs and goblins and return the Dwarven King to his throne. Nobody knows what truly lies North, but people fear the return of the old wars, rampaging dragons and a dark evil that has no name... Dwarves - A Class of their Own A set of 12 Male and Female 28m scale Dwarf Miniatures of different Character Classes for all your Fantasy Games. (two of the set. )

fulfilling Midlam; To the Mummy's Tomb; a Halfling Expedition
Gadgetman! posted a topic in Kickstarter
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/to-the-mummys-tomb-a-halfling-expedition/description Story After the estate of one Fomo Barrowblight (who many moons ago, and with heavily laden bags, had said he was just off for a morning walk, never to return) was sold at auction, there came to light a strange scroll that appeared to be a map of the final resting place of a lost tribe of halflings. These cousins lived down in the scorching Southlands, amidst endless dunes that had buried whole cities and civilisations. The newly elected (and so still very enthusiastic) Halfling Town Council had organised an expedition to make contact with their fellow halflings, with the aim of swapping some stories and recipes, and who knows, perhaps even coming back with some interesting new cakes. And, after many great perils and travails, the expedition found itself in a mysterious location known as 'The Valley of the Things'. Here, recipes in strange hieroglyphs were marked on tomb walls, guarded jealously by High Priests and long mummified pastry chefs. The expedition takes time to assuage the fears of the High Priests that they are here to steal the sacred recipes and make formal diplomatic relations. But Fomo Barrowblight and another mysterious figure seem intent on stealing the recipe to the sacred pie and have already gleaned some of the ingredients... To the Mummy's Tomb! Introducing a series of Eight Fantasy Miniatures in 28mm scale from a halfling expedition to the burial grounds of their cousins, in the desert southlands. Halfling Town Council Five The latest elected Halfling Town Council, has been responsible for launching the expedition to the distant Southlands, as always, it is made up of eight different townsfolk from all walks of life. I've already pledged for the whole set, why haven't you?- 12 replies

Hello, compatriots! I am a college student in desperate need of useful sources of information! I have taken upon the task of writing my final project in my composition class on the history of wargaming and tabletop miniatures. Painting miniatures is potentially my biggest hobby, and it seemed like an excellent topic for a paper. I need to do a 12-minute elevator pitch of my paper next Friday, and the paper itself must be 2,500 words and is due at the end of the semester (May 5th). The issue is, I'm having difficulty finding sources that I can cite. I'd go hunting for books, but I don't have a whole ton of time to wait for shipping. So, I've come to you folks. If there are any sources that you are aware of that will help me in my journey, please post them here. If there are important people I could potentially email and ask questions of, that would be cool, too. I already have some info with W. Britain beginning production of hollow lead toy soldiers and the publication of H.G. Welles' "Little Wars". I'd like to know more about when and how painting miniatures for wargames became a hobby of its own, major changes in the miniature manufacturing industry, key players, where we are today, etc.

A huge 2 for 1 KS! (You get BOTH Humans and Halflings in one project! ) Bloody Peasants! by Midlam Miniatures — Kickstarter Story "Oh no! It's an armed agrarian uprising!" Toiling in the fields for their feudal overlords, the peasants are equally quick to turn their tools to defending their lands from monstrous invaders or, when pressed to the limit, revolting and overturning cruel and greedy landowners. Bloody Peasants! A selection of human and halfling farmers in 28mm scale miniatures for all of your fantasy games. You can choose from humans, halflings or both! The Humans A familiar sight in the villages surrounding Midlam. The Halflings A smaller folk, doing the same jobs as the longshanks. It's a Midlam project, so you know what that means; Maybe a stretch goal, very possibly an early fulfillment, and absolutely no nonsense.
