  1. Hello All, Here are photos of a Bones Black 44163 "Leucrotta". For those of you that are unfamiliar with this monster it is mythical beast of Greek and Roman legend. Also, it showed up in the original D&D Monster Manual as a Rare Chaotic Evil intelligent creature that would trick its prey by imitating the human voice. A mixture of Stag, Lion and Badger or in Greek Myth a Hyena instead of Badger. I found this one fun to try to get all of the colors to look right. The Stag and Badger mix was interesting to blend. Thank you for looking.
  2. Hello All, Here are photos of a 44125 Bones Black "Winter Wolf" I completed a few weeks ago. It is larger than the metal version. The unpainted fighter miniature is from Wizkids D&D Nolzur's. I used it to show scale. Thank you for looking.
  3. Hello All, Here are photos of a Giant Lizard with a Lizardman Handler. The Giant Lizard is a 44068 Bones Black "Hornslasher", and the "Handler" is a 77050 Dark Heaven Bones "Lizardman Warrior" I had been playing the old single player Goldbox PC game D&D "Pool of Radiance" and was inspired to paint up these two miniatures together after my party ran into a pack of Lizardmen with Giant Lizards. Thank you for looking.
  4. Hello All, Here are photos of a 777114 Dark Heaven Bones "Faceless Horror" aka "Gibbering Mouther" I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  5. Sculpted by Julie Guthrie and Bob Ridolfi. Painted as "blood men" (a ghoul variant) for a game I planned to run.
  6. I believe these were sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I painted them as ice trolls for a game I was going to run this weekend. "Happy" is excited to have been recently accepted as a new cast member on The Muppet Show: "Shifty" here looks as if he shanked his own mother for that kettle, and will do the same to you if you mention it again. And here is the lovable pair, ready for the PCs: ]
  7. 28mm sized, Owl Bear metal miniatures, for Old School gamers, collectors, and painters. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chickstaterii/tag-owl-bear-miniatures
  8. Hello All, Here are photos of two monsters I completed this week. A 77371 Dark Heaven Bones "Basilisk" and a Wizkids D&D Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures "Owlbear" Thank you for looking.
  9. More of my wall of thorns from Bones5. They are a bit prickly to assemble, the pieces don't fit together very well, but with patience and a hobby knife they come out ok. I suggest painting at least the base coat before assembly, as getting in between the vines can be tricky afterward.
  10. 3Dprinted on my Elegoo Mars. Design-Onepagerules Jackal Assault Beast Part of the SCIFI Project. WIP: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/99265-intergalactic-journey-glitterwolf-paints-aliens-spacecraft-and-other-scifi-things/page/4/#comments *************************** It's a dangerous task to tame one of these beasts, but it's worth the risk! These beasts can travel the wastelands with ease, they don't need much food or water and they can be brutal in a fight. *************************
  11. I challenged myself to paint more of the larger (bigger than human) sized figures this year. This was one I thought came out relatively well. The pig gives you a sense of how large he really is.
  12. Hello All, Here are photos of a 77336 Dark Heaven Bones "Stone Giant" I completed early last year. Thank you for looking.
  13. Hello All, Here is a 77446 Dark Heaven Bones "Werebear" I completed today. Thank you for looking.
  14. Hey everyone, here's a 02172, Cerberus I completed last night. This Dark Heaven Legends model was sculpted by Sandra Garrity. I was inspired by Simon Eckert's artwork for the choice of colors.
  15. Hello All, Here is a recent work I completed last week. 44049 Bones Black "Stone Lurker" aka "Roper." Thank you for looking.
  16. Hello All, Here is a 07047 Unicorn I completed a bit ago. Thank you for looking.
  17. Hello All, I completed this "Gutrags", Stitch Golem miniature today. Made it a bit dirty and worn.
  18. Painted as a gorgon for D&D, so iron not brass. Quick speed paint. Not terribly much to be done given the colour scheme. Tried to make the floor a bit more interesting. .
  19. Hello All, Here is a 77020 Bathanlian D'khul I completed today. I do believe it is supposed to be an Illithid - Mind Flayer 😉. Thank you for looking.
  20. Hello All, Here is a recent work. "Male Revenant" 77301. I did change out the head. I removed the original head and replaced it with a skull. The skull was pinned in place. When I first saw the miniature, it made me think of the old Scooby Doo cartoon villains. So, I painted the skull to look like it is glowing a bit with glowing pinpoint eyes. Thank you for looking.
  21. Hello All, Here are some Dungeon Vermin: Scorpions 77125 I completed a few weeks ago. Thank you for looking.
  22. Hello All, Here are two Barrow Rats I completed painting last week. Thank you for looking.
  23. I am so excited about this but I've got some definite hurdles to jump over to get it done. I feel this is the only place I can share about this because I'm fairly confident the recipient won't see it. I am painting a 3d print of Zinogre from Monster Hunter. I know nothing about this but I've found some good references. Thus far I've spend 2 hours on just prep and I'm not sure I'm done. It's a decent sized mini, about 9 inches long and 6 inches tall at the highest point. My big struggle so far are the print lines. The picture I saw before I accepted this looked pretty smooth. When I got it I was surprised how much you can actually see it. Thus far I have primed it with Stynylrez (grey) by hand and done 2 coats of gloss varnish/medium to start to reduce the appearance and feel of the lines. I've still got quite a bit of texture to deal with and I don't really want to go through half my gloss varnish to get it smooth and risk losing the subtle details. So if anyone has any ideas of how to fix this further without starting over and spray priming I'm all ears. I was lucky enough that my friend had an extra copy that was slightly smaller and had some printing issues. I've been using this to test things out before I commit to putting it on the model. I did a test patch of primer, then gloss, then primer again and that feels smooth. This is where I'm at (spoiled for big pics):
