  1. This is 3D file from Gloomykid. It is called a Naga and comes in two versions one is a snake version ( the Naga) the other has fins and I decided to go for that one. Part of my Beneath the Waves Project you can find here: WIP https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/88958-beneath-the-waves-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1896746 Ready to defend his realm against those pesky fishermen. EDIT: forgot to mention, the Base is a 3D print from the Artisan Guild _ DeathTide Jurakin Set. The larger cluster of barnacles I sculpted with procreate.
  2. When I first got the Naga from the Bones kickstarter I wasn't that excited. It looked ok at a glance but I didn't think I needed a naga at the time. Eventually I thought I try to extend my scenery collection and try to paint it as a statue. When I did and looked a bit closer at the mini I realized that it's a really cool sculpt! I still choose to go the statue route but I might just have to buy a new one and make a real one. I was also pleasantly surprised on how some superglue + the foam from the blister pack that some miniatures come with + Army Painter greenskin created some decent looking vegetation.
  3. Here is a miniature i am working on. My plan is to paint it like a queen from a playing card. I am thinking of calling it a queen snake. buckyball
  4. I’m a bit late, but I finally started back painting late last year. Here’s what I managed to accomplish in 3 months. And a few close-ups of my favorites... Goremaw the Scarlet Worm is over in the Large Mini contest: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/73889-2017-annual-contest-single-figure-100mm-reaper-entries/&do=findComment&comment=1669304 A Yeti (77436) in a non-standard coat pattern 77418 Xiao Liu (Painted as a Pathfinder Suli: none of the official artwork shows them as having discernible pupils.) 77511 Xiloxoch, Guardian Naga Gorilla from Bones 3 77232 Mogg, Bugbear Warrior
  5. Howdy, I guess it's time to show this one... Thanks for the feedback, Kev! P.S. The pattern is inspired by the natural coloration of the coral snake.
  6. Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I posted anything, but here's what I worked on today. I ended up choosing this one today because I got some new paint and wanted to try out the flesh tones which I'm really happy about it how it turned out.
  7. Time for the final pics to be posted here (those that I can anyhow). This is Queen Shaernagathu - I came up with this name as it's the 3 parts of the figure that I kit-bashed together to form this figure. The body of Queen Shaerileth, a tentacle from the well of doom and the snake bottom half from I don't know which snake or creature or even if it was a reaper figure, I found all 3 parts in the melt bin during ReaperCon 2016. I was going to hold off posting and enter her into the 2017 Massive Voodoo water base challenge, but it was pointed out to met that she doesn't qualify due to a full figure being in the scene, the challenge is for the base to be the star with possibly a couple small plants/animals, but no full figures. Anyhow, it was a super fun project and very challenging. I did a lot of new things with it and learned a lot during the process. I had great feedback from others on the forum as well. WIP can be found here: Without further ado, here are the pics that I can show and links to the NSFW pics I can't show on the forum. I know they will expire at some point, but at least I can upload a few here. NWFW Links Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Thanks for looking and of course C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated!
  8. There was so much in the Bones 3 that it was hard to pick what to start with but I was so excited to start. I'd fallen off painting but the big box of bonesium gold pulled me back in. Since one of my gaming group has a snake Eidolon that can talk, she liked the Naga with the face. While I wanted the scale work to be realistic, I tweaked the colors to be more fantasy. I wanted the headdress to look like a separate piece so thus the contrasting colors and the metal finish. It didn't turn out too bad and the player is thrilled with it. I'm just not totally satisfied about the flat clean look of the red/orange of the head piece. I know I could punch it up a bit but not sure how. But even without tweaking it, it still turned out pretty well.
  9. This is the final batch of my vintage enamel paintjobs on this classic range of minis. If anyone missed the earlier parts, they are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Shambling Mound Giant Toad Naga Drow Sylph These final few were painted relatively recently (ie. in the last 12 years or so) using them thar newfangled acrylic paints. Gibberlings Yugoloth Mimics And that seems to be all I've got from this range. Or at least, all I have painted so far...
  10. Tearing through my Bones, trying to get ready for Bones II, and AVP.
  11. 1st time using a base insert to try something different. I still had to paint it up a bit and added some water effects for a nice slightly melty look.
