  1. I started out with an Egyptian Undead faction in my Lost World but it didn't feel right. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ After some good advice from @malefactus I decided to move the Eygptians to their own thread. The first one is my Mummy Captain. Now working on a Grenadier Undead Rhino Captive Carrier with a Bones Priestess as Crew
  2. Painted that one in 2017, but never made pictures of him. But last weekend he got a gig as a model in the photography class. So finally: Picture! Yay! I used fluorescent paints for his eye sockets, so they glow under UV-light.
  3. Hello everyone, I completed another mummy last night. 14280, Chosen of Sokar the Nefsokar Sergeant sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. Another amazing model, full of nice ornaments and sporting a crocodile head. Once again, I used the nnm technique and opted for purple clothes to distinguish it from the other mummies I recently painted.
  4. Hello everyone, I had a busy week and managed to complete this model last night. Here are pictures of 14026, Nakhti the Nefsokar Captain. This Warlord model was sculpted by Bob Ridolfi, I painted it with Reaper MSP paint. I love the detail on this mummy.
  5. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the third and last of the 06143, Tomb Guards sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is the metal version from the Nefsokar Warlord Army Packs. I kept my favorite of the three for last.
  6. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the second of 06143, Tomb Guards sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is the metal version from the Nefsokar Warlord Army Packs.
  7. Hi everyone, here are pictures of the first of 06143, Tomb Guards sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is the metal version from the Nefsokar Warlord Army Packs. I recently painted the three mummies from the pack and will post them on the forum this week. I really enjoyed their big Khopesh and the detail on there shields.
  8. I am really enjoying Rangers of Shadow Deep as a solo play experience. I am currently painting up the opponents and some rangers for the Across the Wastes adventure. These are all Reaper, about 50/50 Bones or metal. Lots of drybrushing again. The scorpions are just dark grey spray, washed in black, with drops of 'orc blood" from Green Stuff World used as venom. I also used some foam clay to make rocks for the scorpion bases.
  9. This is a Reaper Warlord mini that I painted up in quite a traditional Eastern scheme. I am going to use him in games of Rangers of Shadow Deep. A really nice one to paint.
  10. Finished the Bones Version of the Avatar of Thoth. Sculptes a bit of ruins with a Greenstuffworld Rollerpin. Thoth is often depicted as an Ibis, I choose the Red Ibis as inspiration. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/&page=9 Lots of pics, I tried my new cell phone and it seems to do it's job well.
  11. A new unit for my Shifting Sands Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/&page=9 Egyptian Warcats with Handler. Handler = Reaper Egyptian Princess SKU: 03506 ( she comes with a baboon which will make an appearance later) Black Panther is the New BONES IV Phase Cat with his tentacles removed SKU: 44042 Lion= Bones Lion SKU: 77341 The Panther with the Princess is from Ral Partha I got it from a BOGW The Leopard is from the Companion Animals Set Bones SKU: 77216 The Nehekharan Warcat is the Reaper Elven Hunting Cat SKU: 14453 I used Vallejo Desert Sand and some Greenstuffworld Egyptian Ruins for the bases. Hope you enjoy them.
  12. This is Reaper's 14048, Fatima, Nefsokar Cleric. Or rather it will be when you click on the links because she's super NSFW, front and back. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE PAINTED FIGURE FATIMA, NEFSOKAR CLERIC. There isn't a WIP thread because I couldn't figure out how to make one that would abide by the board rules. But questions or comments are appreciated. The images are hosted on Instagram so you can post comments there too if you like.
  13. Aziz and Farouk are from RAFM's Call of Cthulhu Miskatonic Expedition to Egypt. 14081 and 14242 are Reaper Nefsokar minis with great attitudes. "O Farouk, the coffer was exactly where you said; I have kept my part of the bargain. Are you sure it was wise to remove it from its place?" "Never fear, Aziz; the English were drunk and foolish with wine; assuredly they did not miss it in the celebration of their 'find!' Take your pay and go in peace." "It is not the English that concern me, O most learned Farouk! There were writings in the Old Hieratic that seemed to bode ill for those who would trespass upon this sepulcher. The old men. who know such things, tell tales of--" "O faithless Aziz! Have you forgotten the precepts of your youth? Immutable are the decrees of Allah; save the Most High wills it, the dead do not walk again! Again I assure you, there is no cause for your trepidation."
  14. 89022: Alahazra, Iconic Oracle as crew for the Grenadier Undead Rhino Captive Carrier. On the base is a Bones Mummy fighting for his unlife with an approaching snake, luckily for him the Rhino tries to crush it. Part of my Shifting Sands Army : http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/
  15. Bones 77145: Mummy Captain. Part of my Lost World Project. WIP Here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=111
  16. My partner this time around was SamuraiJack, so if you haven't check your mail yet stop reading! I'll edit in some tags later, but for now no spoilers!
  17. This one puzzled me for quite a while, then annoyed me for even longer. Gray fur almost worked, then not at all. I tried steel colours, then bronze, and even to make the sword look like some sort of black glassy rock... It just screamed NO at me. So I gave it another bath in the Pit of Regret, washed it off and gave it a coat of gray primer, then sat down and studied it.... Yeah, it had to be done like this. I still have a bit of a problem with getting good pictures, but... The colours is MSP Shadowed Stone as base and MSP Weathered stone drybrushed on top. The Gold is Dwarven Gold, and the blue on the headdress is Oceanic Blue, with more Weathered Stone drybrushed over to 'age' it a bit. The eyes and the jewels in the swordhilt is Tamiya Clear Red. It was given a coat of matte varnish, but it's still a bit too shiny, I think. I think it should fit well at the entrance of a tomb or something.
  18. Painted this for a friend who requested an egyptian eye to be painted on the standard. I don't do much freehand stuff, hopefully he will like it. I was going for a magic bottle containing maybe spirits inside, but could not make a ghost face on the bottle without it looking like Casper. :P Hope you enjoy
  19. Really just gave him a decent weapon. I think he looks the part.:
  20. This is the finished product of my work in progress here. The model should have taken me about a month or so to paint, but the work in progress pushed me to work on it more often. Just about every night I did something with it. The first base I painted was a premade resin base. However, his legs were too spread apart to fit properly, so I made this one myself. Used a bunch of my modeling clay which was not cheap, but I figured it was worth the effort. I actually liked the work in progress forum. People were very supportive and gave nice ideas. So a big thanks to those that followed my short journey there and I think I will return in the future. Without further adieu...
  21. I got at least one request to do a work in progress for my next model........so here I am :) Not sure how I feel about WIP posting. I sort of like the surprise of seeing a mini for the first time posted finished. We shall see what happens. ...and yes, that is a robotic thumb I have. some of my implants may be called cheating by some, but I say there is no crying in miniature painting! Get your own robotic appendages. Based skin and some shadowing. My eyes are having trouble seeing where skin ends and cloth begins. This is not going to be an easy mini. My own wash concoction. Happy with the experiment, exactly what I wanted which rarely happens. painting the bandages and started on some metals. Usually colors are easy for me, but the painted mini I was looking at for reference has relatively the same colors I would have gone with. Sooooo...trying to picture some other scheme in my head since I don't want a copy of what was already done. Either I have a master plan or I am avoiding certain areas that I don't want to paint yet. Not sure about the metallic purple armor trim either. I know the purple armor trim on the leg has got to go. Still not sure about the shoulders, I kinda like it. On his back, the purple brings out the eye of Horus design nicely. Things don't always go as planned. I spent a lot of time painting that weapon and just could not get what I wanted. I like it as gold more. At leas you get to see what might have been. After that I'm Almost there. The sash up front and tied around his waist. Some touching up, sealing and then it will be on to painting up a nice base. Finished Painting the model, time to work on a base. Oh man, at the foot of the stairs! Big blob of putty with some freehand sculpting, some recycled stands made into stairs (which I am a little regretting clipping his, because I could have jammed them into the putty instead of using other items to keep him steady while the glue and putty did their trick) and some rocks glued on. a few more steps and I should it should be complete.
  22. Trying to work on my metallics and this gave me a nice big detailed sword to practice with. All in all this went fairly quick for me. Always fun deciding what to paint next, usually depends on how much I am willing to assemble. I love when I don't have to glue or putty anything like this alligator dude.
  23. Finally got around to finishing my tomb guardians. Basically got to the point of "good enough, calling them done". I'm considering building up a small Nefsokar army, so I don't want to go into too much detail if I have to paint several more mummies. I do wonder if I should put some more highlights on the faces, though.
  24. I wanted to do a week without any Mechs, but I just couldn't. This beautiful Berserker repose that Mr Balk did for me was calling my name. I decided to do this piece in the colors of a merc unit from an early campaign in my BT days, the Steele Hearts. Also this week, my Nefsokar army gains a few new members, and my Pathfinder group finally gets their characters. As always, thoughts, opinions, and thrown pottery welcome. Steele Hearts - Berserker Reaper Warlord - Netikerti Reaper Warlord - Arik Tallazar Reaper Warlord - Dust Devil Reaper Warlord - Dust Devil Reaper Pathfinder - Damiel, Iconic Alchemist Reaper Pathfinder - Cleric of Calistria Hasslefree - Sana
  25. Didn't get nearly as much done this week as I'd hoped, thanks to injuring my hand. But I still managed to get these guys done. And yes, the hand is ok now. (No, I don't want to talk about it) As always, thoughts, opinions, and thrown canopic jars welcome.
