  1. This is for a friend who wanted me to paint another custodes for him. This one took me quite a while. Keeping the NMM to 3 colors helped me pick this up over 3 different sessions. Scrofulous brown Yellow ochre Ice yellow Then punched it up with a little bone white. Came out pretty good.
  2. I started this in Aaron Lovejoy's NMM class at ReaperCon (2023) and finally finished him up. What a tour de force of metal bits! I can't recommend Aaron's teaching enough, he really helped me see that there is some glimmer (glint?) of hope in the future.
  3. Since I wasn't on here in 2021/2022... I wanted to post some of my favorite NMM minis. I took Almaran with me to ReaperCon last year- he ended up not being the one judged, but that's OK- I took him for some good ol' fashioned critique afterwards. And yeah, 2023 is going to be the year of "make an attempt with your bases, you dork".
  4. Hey everyone, here's a very popular model that many of you have probably already painted. I completed mine late last night. This is the metal version of 03461, Goldar the Barbarian was sculpted by Matt Gubser. It's also available in Bones plastic under SKU: 77047.
  5. Hello everyone, here's the fifth dwarf of my Slayer unit. This model was sculpted in the mid-90s by Aly Morrison. Since I have two of these models in the unit I decided to convert this one. He was a standard bearer, I swap his banner for an axe. It was ll painted with Reaper MSP Color, here's the list;
  6. Hi all! How do you do? It's been a while since I last shared a mini here. I recently converted and painted one for my egyptian-themed Frostgrave warband. Since the mini depicts a woman with bare breasts, I am supposed -as per the forum rules- to post links to the pictures instead of displaying them directly in the post. So consider this topic slightly NSFW. To begin with, here is the mini I started with: https://www.reapermini.com/search/yanara https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/01/p1090389.jpg For the conversion, here's what I did: Sawed the head off. A brutal surgery but a necessary one. [picture] Replaced the head with a bald one from Statuesque Miniatures. [picture] Filed off the remaining hair with a Dremmel power tool. [picture] Filed off the belt decoration and replace it with an Ankh cross. Resculpted the piece of fur on her shoulders and upper back. Cut off the top of her staff and replace it with an egyptian staff decoration (a double ostrich feather ornament) The result after the conversion: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090830.jpg After priming in off-white: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090832.jpg And finally, the painted mini: [Front Picture] / [Side Picture 1] / [Side Picture 2] / [Back Picture] / [Close-up Picture] If you want to see the pictures directly, you may visit my blog post (although it's written in french): https://legolemquireve.wordpress.com/2022/06/29/sandgrave-djesa-la-thaumaturge/
  7. Hey everyone, this is the fourth Oldhammer dwarf of my Slayer unit. It was sculpted by Aly Morrison. All painted with Reaper MSP Color, here's the list;
  8. Hello everyone, here's my third Dwarf Giant Slayer. This model was also sculpted by Aly Morrison. All painted with Reaper MSP Color, here's the list;
  9. Hey everyone, I completed another one Yesterday. Some more orange... on a completely different model. She reminded me of Red Sonja so I decided to paint her hair fiery red. This is 02759, Dena the Barbarian sculpted by Dennis Mize. The Gravestone of Protection 77539 was sculpted by Julie Guthrie and the Shrine is a 3d print by Aleda at Gothic Things.
  10. Hey everyone, here's my penultimate mischievous fellow. I swapped its head and weapon with those of other goblins. The original 77444, Goblin warrior models were was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  11. The mischievous horde is on its way! This is 77444, Goblin Warrior with greatsword sculpted by Bobby Jackson. That be a scimitar I'd say. The base is 20mm.
  12. Hey everyone, here's the third in the series of mischievous fellow I'm currently painting. This is the 77444, Goblin Warrior with halberd sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  13. Hey everyone, here's the second of my mischievous goblinoid. This one is the 77445, Goblin skirmisher with sword and shield sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  14. A soldier for my warband in my egyptian version of Frostgrave. Can't say I'm too happy with the way the NMM looks but I'm done with this model nonetheless.
  15. Hi all! How do you do? My latest painted character: This sorceress lady will be used someday in the future for games of Frostgrave. Here she is with the rest of her warband:
  16. Hey everyone, what's a tribe without a leader... Here's 77349, Goblin Leader sculpted by Ben Siens. I'm not sure about the poison on the blade, should I add more or change it for blood? Let me know what you think.
  17. Hey everyone, here's 03292, Almaran the Paladin sculpted by Bobby Jackson. This is the metal version, it's also available in Bones under SKU 77058 and chibi version sculpted by Gene Van Horne under SKU 77714.
  18. Hey everyone, it been some time since I posted. I managed to complete this one last night. 04006, Arik the "half-orc" barbarian sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  19. I wasn't sure if I should post this in Show off or WIP, but I figured here and if you would please forgive the in progress parts in the subsequent post. Ron let me paint this lovely sculpt by Gene Van Horne. Actually, I think I might have begged to paint it and considered stealing it from his office if he refused. She'll be in the Greek Odyssey Expansion for Bones V. If by some miracle you have come to this forum and not heard of Bones V, it can be found here. Aaron Lovejoy was awesome and took some high definition photos of her after last Reapercon. I really love this sculpt, can't say that enough. She's got some fantastic detail, lots of good open space to work on blending or freehand, even a scenic base to play with stone effects. While I loved the original Yephima by Patrick Keith, and still use her in my classes, this one really screams warrior to me. I need to paint my bones version when I get it as Athena. I'll have to add a shield somewhere, though. Maybe convert the club to a spear. Decisions decisions. Anyway, feel free to ask questions. I'm happy to explain or help with anything! I'm going to post the WIP pictures I have in another post, so hopefully those will also be useful. Enjoy!
  20. Here is a model I wanted to paint for a long time. I decided to give it a twist by adding an artifact on its base. This is an 03655, Iron Cobra sculpted by Andrew Pieper. The Orb is from the 02652, Magic Treasures III and the base is a 40mm wide 74024 base.
  21. Hey everyone, here's a frogman from the 03146 set sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I like the tiki mask this one is using as a shield.
  22. I tried this techinque for a second time, I know I'm still not very good at it but I am happy with the result. 🙂 Any constructive criticism or tips are very welcome! 😃 Thanks for looking! 😄
  23. Hey everyone, here's an heavy armored fellow ready for adventure. 07011, Borin Ironbrow the Dwarf Adventurer was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. He was initialy part of the Dungeon Dwellers line. Hopefully, he will make the jump and eventually be integrated into the Bones USA line.
  24. Hello there, here is my latest Dark Dwarf. 44139, Dark Dwarf Cleaver was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. This is the Bones Black version. Have a good Friday.
  25. Hello everyone, now that the event is over, here are some more pictures of my entry in the 17th Quarterly contest. A big thanks to everybody that voted for me. This is a 77752, Female Minotaur sculpted by Jason Wiebe. It was a fun model to work on and I challenged myself painting object source lighting (OSL) on it. I made the fire with pieces of popsicle stick and Liquitex heavy gel medium.
